Hello. I accidentally said "astrologist" which I know I meant "astronomy"- (study of celestial objects and planetary sciences). I got the two words combined when I said "geologist"/astronomy". I'd be disappointed if people thought my life's work was 'astrology'! LOL..... Anyway, enjoy the reaction..... much love. Stay well, stay safe to everyone!!

Hello Frauke. I just learned about NW about June 2019. I find a poetical connection, and I feel they impart such musings.... art, music, and poetry. I love them. I am honored to meet you, and glad you are here. Please enjoy your time. You will notice my channel has evolved, so many of the year old videos were recorded on my laptop of lower quality. That said, you may wish to check out the Poet & Pendulum reaction. This video was sent to Tuomas and the band manager. Thanks again.

Really like your reactions because you are one of the few who do some research and also listen to Tuomas interviews before going into the song. I think it will give you another view or perspective of the song rather than go direct blindly into them, .specially Nightwish songs because every song has a story behind them. Thank you for that. In an interview I read Troy said that Tuomas is a perfect musician, listening to this album that is true. Tuomas alone is behind every compositions on both cd's and the music is amazing. Thank you for your wonderful videos.

Tomas is the quiet mastermind. Floor is the loud and beautiful voice and the band is the greatest supporting actor! People I have seen and done things on the planet that could be called ugly. They say music can sooth the savage beast, well this song damn sure has!

  • @DemonRuby
    @DemonRuby 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

I just can't listen to Floor without tearing up. I have cried to Ghost Love Score and Poet and the Pendulum by Floor's performance, when I remained almost unaffected by performance of other singers of these songs. I don't know and can't explain what exactly is happening to me or why I'm suddenly hit with this wave of emotions when she sings, because I'm just not that type to cry easily, but I am simply unable to remain calm. As if her voice brings out all buried and unexpressed emotions from deep within, long forgotten memories or something you've never had but feel it, it's something primal. Shoemaker is a masterpiece. There's no need to say more about it, no word will do it justice, it needs to be felt, experienced and understood, let into the depth of your mind, body and soul.

At first listen: Many many thoughts, but was sure that end of Shoemaker will get peoples eyes wet. ❤. Whole album really is more that sum of its peaces. Every hearing opens something new. Tuomas, modern day Mozart and whole band, like Nightwish 3.0. And I am so happy about Floor getting, now some more versatilty in these songs. Simply to say. Love this!( And not least Floor) 💝

And his choice of words just fits and moves my soul. I cant listen this without tears, they start to soar when Troy and Marko are singing harmonies with Floor and the whole rest of the song I’m a wet mess and exhausted at the end! Magnificent song!

Tuomas' piano intros have a music box quality to them that is so beautiful and delicate. It also is behind the part when Troy sings the chorus. That spoken word from Shakespeare was inscribed on the capsule holding Eugene's ashes which was deposited on the moon. He always wanted to go, but health reasons prevented him from having the opportunity. Wonderful job again KD. Love it and happy to see you doing well and doing your thing! In this album, Toumas have taken symphonic metal to an other level. There Will be many in the yesrs to come, who will try to do it better, but if they Will succseed, that 's an other story. Nightwish and Toumas have set a new standard, a new standard to reach for, many will try, and many will fail, but in the end somone is going to reach to this level, but by then Toumas has taken us to the next.

Strictly speaking, Eugene Shoemaker was a Planetary Geologist that used *astronomy* (not astrology - that's for zodiac prediction). It should be mentioned that he tried out for the Apollo program, but was disqualified because he had Addison's Disease. He trained multiple astronauts because he was a crater specialist and the moon has several craters. Landing in the wrong spot would have tipped over the Lunar module.

Great reaction, as always :-)! I also very much like the video - especially the "fly-by-earth-camera-voyage" gets me every time. At one time the screen is full with the beautiful blue pacific - and then there comes this moment when I´m always a little bit shocked - realizing how quickly you can get pulled out into "careless cold infinity". And then moon and sun come into view… in this moment the shelter that earth provides becomes so obvious!

Wonderful reaction Kelly. First of all I want to commend you on how well your videos look now .. I can remember when you took your first hesitant steps using a smart phone .. 'way back when'. :) .. I do have a question though. Like another said .. why does a 'grown ass man' tear up when I read Johanna's reading of the verse and then Floor's glorious voice rises up. I know that the 'goosebumps' we get, hair raising on our body the .. Floorgasms .. that is the same thing that happens when we are frightened .. we get a surge of Adrenalin .. it is our 'flight or fight' response. I have to wonder if the tearing is something similar . .chemicals exploding through our body

He keeps using the concepts of going through aeons, and of being tucked in. Check out other lyrics. I am hoping that they will be able to do some touring in the fall. Of course, everything depends on how this "Rona" business goes. But can you imagine this album LIVE?!

Kelly, very good reaction, pre-work and then words after song, specially when you told this poem writing style/history. Love this song, adn whole album. Heard it now several times and if counting also reaction videos - then multiple times. So happy that they made totally 10 music videos, it gives so much more to this album and us (as fans). Love the vocal harmonies between Floor, Marko and Troy. It was already known beforehand that in this album they use a lot but now when hearing it, just magnificent.
Like many has pointed out, Tuomas is reading a lot. And we can see and hear it ! He has gone far from that young boy who started Nightwish.
Now we have two songs dedicated to scientists. Carl Sagan and Eugene Shoemaker. And then we know there is lot of impact from Charles Darwin, Richard Dawkins and David Attenborough.

I like that you get advised to use a towel instead of a tissue. I don't even know if the people who advised it are aware of the full meaning of a towel. Aside from it being just a large tissue, it can also be seen as a reference to Douglas Adams' Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, which fits the song quite well. :-)

Keep in mind that this song is unique on this album. Pan and Music are the closest to a repetition, but the others are different from each other. Favorites: Tribal, Pan and Music.
    Until the next video.

Floors husband is the drummer in Sabaton. Oh please do a reaction to In Flanders Fields. You’ll cry and I believe Floor sings in it (I can’t find the information on the singer in that song, but Floor did have a few spots in Sabaton Great War album).

Shoemaker was an astronomer, not an astrologist. That's quite a difference, guess Tuomas wouldn't write something about an astrologist ;)

@@fioddorsuperconcentrado2492 Well, right, in the songs that are placed in a more fantasy-related context of course he wrote about quite a few strange figures. Maybe it's better to say "he probably wouldn't have written a song about Shoemaker if he had been an astrologist instead of an astronomer"...

      How about astrogeologist.
I think this song is a requiem: a song for the dead beginning with "rest." (Now you have been tucked in.)
Compare the ending with the opening scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey. th-cam.com/video/e-QFj59PON4/w-d-xo.html
