    I love these inter-war aircraft. Technology was advancing faster than the aircraft companies could keep up.

      There's a reason why some people refer to the 1930s as the Golden Age of Aviation.
      And some things were quite advanced towards the end of the decade. Germany was even experimenting with jet aircraft (Heinkel He 178) though they were never mass produced.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who did a 'vertical ground loop' on the first take off attempt 😊

    Finally! I used to love flying this aircrft in FSX. And.....yes, you went there. What everyone was thinking, you said. Ribbed for every aviator's pleasure! Cracked me up! 😆

    Brings back some good memories. My family were kind enough to club together to get me an hours experience flight in the front of a Tiger Mother for my 21st, I just have no words for how great that was! I'd been up in Grob Tutors before, and have since been up in a 172, and neither of them can compare in the slightest to the Tiger. I'll definitely be picking this one up!
    I will say, from the flight I got, those windscreens look waaaaay too clean. The one for the front seat spent the whole flight just coated in oil. Before we started up the instructor I was with did make an effort to wipe it, but.... it was more a process of moving the oil around a bit and giving up lol. I feel like that engine spits so much oil anyways even if you got it clean it would stay that way for long at all!

      Brings back memories of nearly hurling up my guts over the Gold Coast when the pilot started doing loops over the sea. Fun experience, certainly don't recommend food at all before the flight.

      @@striderdnb Ooooh.... Yeah, we didn't do any aeros during my flight, tbf, I think I was having too much fun flying it for the insturctor to want to take the controls to do some aeros, but I have done aeros in the Tutors, and yeah, I certainly learnt about the dangers of eating before the flight, just about kept my lunch down but it was a close thing the first time round.

    I too had a chance to fly one of these old birds, it was a treat for sure, just fundamental flying. Wind. awesome engine noise, and can't see a damn thing in front....at all.

    I love this aircraft, dont be afraid of the hard mode, you have to really try to blow this engine, 1950 rpm cruise and 2100 take off and she's golden. It detailed but its such a simple aircraft, not that much to go wrong. I loved this so much I bought the drifter too and then the BU131 after that from another dev... and cant wait to have the Jenny! :D
    On my first outing, taking off from some field in the UK I got blown off the field... xD

    Looks like a great little plane indeed! Starting to like the use of tablets also, seems a bit retro-mod yet has all the bells+whistles for proper nav. Do I sense biplane bush flying maybe?

    I have a terrible confession to make, I laughed a lot when you flipped it over but at least it saves me making the same mistake. I'm glad someone else can "smell" a great aircraft, that's how I felt when I first flew the JF Hawk. I wasn't going to get this but once again you changed my mind so I'm off to get covered in oil in VR! 👍😁

    I've just bought it and in VR it's unbelievably stunning... £14... if it was 3x that it would be worth it... what a little beauty.
    If you fly VR don't think about it just get it because you'l have a smile on your face all the time you fly it.
    Really good for dead reckoning nav as well if that's your thing as the compass is easy to see.

    That looks lovely, have a look at the freeware Compton Abbas (EGHA) - it’s just down the road from here and a couple of Tiger Moths are based there.

    Love the Tiger Moth but by golly how amazing that WW1 fighters/bombers, both multi seated and single seats, where able to patrol at heights higher and for longer.
    Read No Parachute for a reference, though there are many more.

    I'm not that familiar with biplanes so I wasn't sure at first if this would offer anything different from the Stearman and Nieuport 17 I already have, but you showed that it really does. The Stearman and Nieuport are a lot faster and more "action" oriented, while this one seems more leisurely. I will definitely consider it (although currently the first on my list is the Citation Mustang), and I'd love to see you do a bush trip in it as well.

    It’s a little sweet biplane with some bugs like click trough EFB and open side door in front of you and can’t prime and turn propeller to start in VR but those bugs will get fixed, the click thought EFB bug has been solved by Flysimware and MS / Asobo will update the SDK to solve it for other devs but don’t know when that will be

    • @otterspocket2826
      @otterspocket2826 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can carry out a complete startup from the EFB in VR - but watch out for the fuel cutoff closing itself randomly while pulling the prop through.

    Hi AvAngel. Sorry to be off-topic, but have you tried flying over San Juan's Friday Harbour since Sim Update 10? I've just bought the Orbx Orcas Island Airport scenery and I've been getting mound artefacts at Friday Harbour which are massive at a distance but disappear as I get close. They go away when I uninstall the scenery. I believe you use the same scenery and this is very much your stomping ground so I wondered if you'd seen anything. I haven't been able to find any complaints about it, which makes me think the problem's of recent origin, hence my pointing the finger at Update 10.

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't been there recently, it might be an issue in the area, not sure. Orbx may push an update, they're pretty good with that.

    • @graeabarth2227
      @graeabarth2227 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnottahcal5725 I’ve noticed the compass doesn’t work too and assumed it was something I was doing wrong. As for your other questions have you explored the cockpit tablet options? Otherwise, using a mouse together with your controller might help with the prop start. Honestly, I’ve enjoyed flying the Tiger Moth but have been using the quick start functions and ‘easy’ engine management options.
