Those carrier bolts are torqued to 75Nm. Add rust to that and they aren't coming free as is shown on here. Access to the bottom bolt is tight too making getting a strong enough tool in pretty impossible

So you aren't using a wire or piece of cord to tie up the brake calliper? You can damage the brake lines if you just let it hang like that. And I've learned first hand that those 8mm calliper carrier bolts DO NOT come off that easily. You must have already had them off and replaced them for the video. These stupid bolts are notorious for stripping and snapping wrenches when they are rusted on.

Thank you for the feedback! Your opinion and remarks are very important for us. We will take them into consideration for our next tutorial. This video is considered to be an informative one, and it shows the sequence of repairs,so some stages of the repairs might have been excluded.Best regards, Autodoc.

@@spraym88 good to know, my local area isnt prone to bad rust (literally the promised land for cars, dry desert that doesn't use road salt) but i will still hit those with some PB blaster before i remove them

    Well done video, very informative.
On my vehicle, 2002 A4 Quattro 3.0, it wasn't required to remove the 8mm bolt or the bracket at all. I was able to remove the disc by slightly angling it towards one side.

After much frustration with the caliper bolts (including breaking an 8mm bit socket) I was able to remove the rotor by angling it as above. It did take a bit of heavy hammer work to break it loose from the hub.
This was on 04 Audi A4 3.0 Quattrao

John Pearson, those carrier bolts usually are held by thread lock making it difficult to extract

As always the autodoc guys show you what you need to get the the job done .... the basics !!
Which spanners/ which sizes etc etc.
There are always unfair comments about why they didnt do this or that, and to those people i say if you are so good at brake repairs then there is absolutely no need to watch videos like this as you are already a PROFESSIONAL
