Daron didn't create or wasn't in the band Soil with Ryan McCombs! He was indeed in a band named Soil, but not this one. Sorry, I didn't know there was a band named Soil that was so well-known and still active today... 🤦
Having a career in music is a double-edged sword. I have family relatives who are "musicians" whose lives didn't get far. But I guess they are a family who are financially stable.. One didn't have an investment and got a stroke in old age, and one's job is being a "waiter." They are father and son who both live in the same house
That was me in High School. I was a decent musician, but didn't get really skilled until I was a full blown adult. Then I decided to join the military. I still have music, but it's just for me. Not for anyone else.
On first soad album there was a song called "Soil". This song have the most powerfull scream of serj a the end. Just insane. Btw this song "Soil" is for the first drummer of soil who died.
@@1968spikeyya that seems WAY more likely. 😐 Weird coincidence that SOAD covered Black Sabbath snow blind and that snowblind is one of the best BS songs.
When I was in high school my teacher was also Armenia and from Canada and he taught all the members of System of a Down in school. Everybody but the drummer. He had tons of pictures and posters and stuff all dedicated to him with all their signatures. He also showed me all there yearbooks throughout their high school years.
Another interesting thing is that Daron is also a massive hockey fan and his favourite teams include the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings, which also makes me happy as a Canadian and fellow hockey fan
Why is there so much Daron Malakian slander in this comment section?? He has his faults, but he's a TALENTED musician and SOAD wouldn't be what it is today without his help. Serj may be the lead singer and wrote most of the lyrics (before Daron tried to take over, which he deserves criticism for), but Daron literally constructed the music. Don't be disrespecting him like that before you know what your talking about.
It's just that people attribute to others only what they want to attribute to them. So it's easier to attack Daron for his faults by mentioning only the negative, even though he has brought a lot of good things to the band.
@@antondaron8025 when they played at Rock on the Range ( Columbus, OH ) they were cussing out the crowd , nobody said , threw anything at stage , it just pissed everyone off so badly , they totally disrespected EVERYONE !!!! I still listen to their music , but cannot get that outta my head !!!!
And even their music isn't particularly good.😅 There are a few listenable songs, but that's it. I've always thought that this was typically the kind of band with an itch to stand out. It's not imaginative, and Serj doesn't fit in either. You can clearly see that he has a hard time playing the "crazy grimaces" and he almost has to scream directly, because that's how they want to stand out. As for Serj's solo project, it's much better! Whatever, this is just my point of view. (Btw Daron is probably gay)
That's Rich Jones of The Black Halos alongside Casey Chaos in Amen. I was too young to go to the Halos final show before Rich left for Amen so me and some buddies listened from the alleyway.
I believe shavo was managing soil and partially played in the band. I think andy was on drums, then the band turned to soad when john came, but dont quote me on it.

Different band, same name. The Soil you know was formed in 1997. Daron's Soil was formed before 1993
That shocked me up too bro!😅😂😂
Black Sabbath song titles have been responsible for more band names than any other band
NO LIE THERE
Definitely, also considering that one of Van Halen’s original band names was gonna be Rat Salad
Could have easily been inspired by Snowblind from Ace Frehley's of Kiss' 78 solo album.
Daron has stated several times he was a classic kiss fan.
