Bands like system of a Down we're telling the 90s kids in high school the truth about the world, over 20 years later and the lyrics to all their songs make complete sense now
The album they did with that song on it had a bunch of song lyrics that didn't seem to make sense, what I realized about that album was they started putting nonsense lyrics in a lot of their songs just to be catchy & to poke fun at the music that was popular at the time. If you go back and listen to that entire album, you will see what I mean, the album's hypnotized and mesmerized were exactly like that, they were intentionally putting goofy lyrics to prove it would still be popular people would still sing the lyrics and it would still sell. And it did. 😂 "I'm just sitting in my car and waiting for my girl" ... I love how many rhythms and styles these guys used in their music. Hell, in a single song. SOAD is GOAT
Im sitting on my chair and waiting for a New soad Album
Still 2019
I'm happy to see we're still jamming to this song 🔥
@@jameelahamed6615 for ever
we will probably die waiting:(
We scared that they will never produce a new album
Our dreams of new musics never will be there
Copied
SOAD is one of the best alt-rock band for me. I love them for every song of theirs, which are completely different and awesome at the same time.
***** THEY ARE STILL DA BEST!!!!!
***** They didn't split up, they just decided to do their own stuff for a while. They plan on starting creation of another album soon.
RollerCoaster47 And for that, we're hyped.
Listening to more SOAD after their new song
Coincidence I was listened to Toxicity full album a day before their new songs. Wow
@@zackzallie8735 yeah it's great especially them backing up their home country.
Yeah and me, i forgot how good they are, its been tooooo long
How did you know
Songs*
The bass in this song is so simple but adds so much color in the intro
Many years later and this song still gives me chills. Such power
We need a SOAD album right now more than ever.
Yep....
VACCINIZE
maybe it could be good but i dont know
They are already tried to reach us..no one listened and they lost hope. I hope not but....shit is still the same ..
Not an album but we got two new songs
the type of song that will never lose relevance...... coz our silly world will never change .
Good music won’t die cause we are here to spread it
Can't believe this song come out 11 years AGO!
more like 9 years.
Why? music was better then.
Eddie GarzÓn I can't believe idiots still exist that use capital letters to make a point when they type.
Eddie GarzÓn in november will be 12 years
ubetternot No, the song was released 11 years ago. But then they uploaded to TH-cam.
There will never be better vocal harmonies than those of Serj and Daron.
tru h
Jerry cantrell and layne staley's were pretty good
Simon and Garfunkel
Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda to
@@maulanafiqri7423 yeah ..just i "" hate"" Chester now because acted like selfish.... didn't think about his 6 kids...his fans...no one!!! I love him..but hate him also 😥
0:56 Serj nodding to let us know this is going to get stuck in our heads.
this is just the purest moment ever
"Yep. You know it."
"Im just sitting in my car and waiting for my girl" what a relateable line, simply trying to exist and accomplish simple goals while all hell's breaking loose
soo excited for their new album!!!
Donny G it's confirmed?!?!?!!!!
yes! www.metalinjection.net/upcoming-releases/confirmed-system-of-a-down-to-release-a-new-album-in-2017
blehblehbleh why ?
blehblehbleh they're dedicated to making the best come back in excistence.
Pfft with the state the world is in since they've been gone, they'll name the new album 'I Told You So!'
Easiest come back album ever... fuck, this is so disheartening to write.....
I can never get enough of the first part of the song. Great guitar riffs!
I love this band, the energy the power of music gives the good vibration to the bone. ❤️
It's one of the Greatest songs ever...period.
2:25, so beautiful, this part is pure art.
This band is one reason for me to be proud of my homecountry Armenia
We should ALL be proud of who we are and where we come from.
I'm not. I am from 2 countries with dark pasts. I have eternal crisises due to it.
Fortnites Shit Japan and America are two countries. Nuff said.
Armenians are good people! Love from Iran!!
th-cam.com/video/_LLqAGvbLmQ/w-d-xo.html - armenians' art. Yeah they are really good and peaceful. Im not rasist but armenians not angel
Daron has an amazing voice omg Oo
***** This is why I love them both ^^' :)
i love Ecchi IJK Cynth Ardell
Cynth Ardell Yes,but serj are better..
lucas costa you are the best gg we are gamers
+yosef kashkoul Yes,we are :)
As a 41yo female who has sang this song for nearly 15 years, I love introducing teens to SOAD, especially this song & spiders 💜
The opening 2 lines of this song are some of the best for being incredibly specific and also open to interpretation, I love it so much.
Thought the song was about how in America we're waiting around for our gf's to get in the car and such while in other places around the world people are dying for their freedom.
@@Nolifeterran Maybe it’s about the propaganda lying about things you weren’t there to testify, so you believe in
@@NolifeterranI remember that in an AMA with Daron iirc, he said that they write lyrics for the common person to listen to and think about "while waiting in the car for their girlfriend". Also should be noted that Daron wrote this song while waiting in the car for his girlfriend. It's honestly kind of weird how often it happens that they have one or two lines that are so specific but open to so much interpretation at the same time.
very disturbing rhetorical question
@@Nolifeterranlol no it’s about how western media deceived the people about what happened at Tiananmen Square
My favorite since I was a kid 🥰 listening to this on my headphones blasting and it sounds soooooo FREAKING good. Great music, truly art through music 💜💖💜💖💜
This song, Radio/Video and Lost In Hollywood REALLY surprised me when they played them live, they sounded sooo passionate and full of emotion that I almost freakin cried in the crowd listening to them, lol. I just love System so much.
Bands like system of a Down we're telling the 90s kids in high school the truth about the world, over 20 years later and the lyrics to all their songs make complete sense now
BANANA BANANA BANANA TERRACOTTA BANANA TERRACOTTA TERRACOTTA PIE
The album they did with that song on it had a bunch of song lyrics that didn't seem to make sense, what I realized about that album was they started putting nonsense lyrics in a lot of their songs just to be catchy & to poke fun at the music that was popular at the time. If you go back and listen to that entire album, you will see what I mean, the album's hypnotized and mesmerized were exactly like that, they were intentionally putting goofy lyrics to prove it would still be popular people would still sing the lyrics and it would still sell. And it did. 😂 "I'm just sitting in my car and waiting for my girl" ... That's literally every love song in a nutshell, especially in the early 2000s, those guys are smart, they know what they're doing.
THE MELODY.THE VOICES.THE LYRICS
The section in the solo is Shavo recreating a mushroom trip he had where each color and movement represented an element of the music, amazing.
i dont know why but every time i listen to this song it calms me and its like all of life's problems just go away
Makes me focus
Hah, how ironic
"Why don't you ask the kids at Tienanmen Square
Was fashion the reason why they were there?"
Might be the hardest opening line to a song ever
Crazy how relevant shit is in 2024.
What a song
Relevant indeed, cuz now it sings as;
"why dont you ask the kids at UCLA,
was fashion the reason why they were there?"
@zescapegoat oh yeah are there tanks storming through universities
@@metalkicker23 there are rubber bullets pelted at students, outside agitators beating students while police watches, it all falls under police brutality. your need of tanks for comparison of injustice shows your shallowness. why do u even listen to SOAD then?
@@zescapegoat keep replaying boyo. Soad was about real issues. Not wannabe university students role playing in one of the best countries in the world. You are beyond niave.
We deserve 4K remastered video of this undying masterpiece
We do!
This song is very beautiful 💋
HDR pls
I grew up with rap and pop it wasnt till 2 years ago that i started listening to metal and realising its the best music ever.I started with SOAD and progressed to other metal bands, but SOAD still remains supreme to me.
I rap myself and believe it or not rock and metal is where I get my inspiration to write my lyrics
I feel you bro

remember when slt opened for soad !!! amazing!!! .,.
The fact that daron can sing in harmony with serj while playing guitar is pretty outstanding.
I love that painting done by Shavo, it's so wonderful when you see something so original from a member of the band in the official video, also made in real time , so cool
Daron's too got outstanding vocals...
I love when he sings.

A goat called Durk made me listen to this. It is a nice goat. He comes from a land of far. He likes apples and climb trees. He really knows how to have a good time.

Crazy all the emotions you can go through during a System of a Down song
I remember when I was in 6th grade, right where I was heavily getting into rock/metal music, I would always say I didn't really like SOAD all that much, but 2-3 years later, I must've been on something man!
All these years later, and I still LOVE this song.
Katie Johnson always loved it!
All these years later and im still just sitting in my car, waiting.

i remember in the early 2000s, i bought this cd, took it home and made it into mp3 and put the whole album on my mp3 player, yes, mp3 players back then could fit maybe 1 album. I listened to this album so much, each time i hear this song, i remember my walk home, at night, in the rain, listening to this song and just feeling at peace with the universe. Those were good days, please give them back.
Best line of the song "propaganda leaves us blinded" more relevant today than ever

Beat me to it
Me listening to the lyrics as a kid: wow this song is so catchy!
As an adult: oh....
Me being like when did I get so disenfranchised
Me also listening to this music at 5 🤠
Yeah I had this same thought some time ago. Kids are so naive
wdym lyrics are bad ?
@@axsuriaa No it's that with songs like this actually have messages that we don't understand as kids and we realize it when we're older.
