- In this Sailing Bluefin episode we show you how to use vht vinyl dye to repaint your boat seats! This is a fantastic DIY way to revamp your outdoor vinyl marine upholstery, instead of going through the trouble of re-upholstering your seat backs or cushions. Vht vinyl dye is really easy to use and doesn't break the budget.
For this seat back we used 2 cans of vht vinyl dye and did 3 coats of dye overall. We were so happy with the result, we thought we had to share this with the sailing community out there. So please let us know what you think in the comments!

Ha yes, Rex is a cutie, but he can be incredibly stubborn when he gets an idea into his mind. He also has this habit of dropping his toys into the water to see what happens, and normally what happens is they sink! 😂 Then he looks at you like "how do I get it back". So we have to watch him when he dissapears up front with his toys!

Hi Larry, the dye might work on plastic, but the water immersion and excess abrasion might be a bit more than it's designed for. But good luck with it, you could try a test & it would be interesting to know!

Hey LaMonaLisa, I bought them at an automotive parts store in Sydney Australia. I know that there are other brands, which will probably give the same results, but this is the only one that I've tested.

Sailing Bluefin in the USA🙃 i decided on ordering online a few spray cans of SEM marine vinyl spray paint, will give it a try. Your results look great btw!

A few light coats...
Hey Kyle, yes I think the more light coats you can do the better. I did get a couple of sags when I put it on too heavy, but managed to fix them straight away. Definitely a time for patience! 😁
