    Glenn is an American treasure. One of the most underrated but most gifted artist in our time. He is greatly missed. 🎉

    Highwayman - A highly underrated song. Two of the all time great entertainers here-Carson and Campbell. They don't make 'em like these guys anymore.

    Glen's passing has hit me pretty hard. His music played a pretty big part in the soundtrack of my teen years in the 70's. His musical gifts to so many, indelible...

    Great version of Highwayman! Glen was the best at interpreting a song. I miss him already.

    I love watching old video of GC. His looks change thru the years and sometimes he is Giddy with smiles other times he is shaking his leg and fast paced and other times looks like he is just 'doing a job' but all this is why I love him so much ! He is a man and so real and so talented! Love you Glen!

    The best version of Highwayman. Glen, as always, with his great performance and iconic vocal mastery, made it look easy.

    It will be just a short time that Glen will no longer be with us... It's sad to think about a world of music without his guitar virtuosity and vocal charisma. His life was one of sometime struggles with substance abuse, but which was far overshadowed by his "every-man" openness and care for those around him. I miss him already.

      Hey friend, kind words there. I commented that I miss him already, then I read your great comment. Wasn't trying to rip you off. I guess it's a sentiment we all share. I find myself thinking about Glen daily, wondering if he's still "in there", you know? I hope he's comfortable and feels safe. His is a bastard of a disease that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Ah, but we have his music! Thank God. Cheers.

      Just yesterday I looked up some of his videos because I had found some old sheet music I played on the piano as a kid. I found that people posted as a hoax on Facebook that he had died some time ago. Then I found that he was actually battling Alzheimer's. Then today, he passed. Aug 8, 2017. RIP Glen.

      I'm still crying. It feels like the last memory of innocence just left this world. My first single was Rhinestone Cowboy that came out in 1975 so I was only 10 years old. Interesting that you thought of him right as he was passing on to his forever home.

    I was Fifteen when I bought the boxed set of his albums 7 in all. I still have them less the box as it fell apart, but I loved his music then and still do now. Some of the songs on there were amazing and still are, Long Black Limousine, Mary in the Morning stick in my mind for some reason. RIP Glen a man with True Grit if ever there was one. 🕊🕊🕊🕊

    both songs are great
    ... I've always liked the second song.. Love Always
    I'm realizing now since he is gone... how talented he was and how many good songs he had and True Grit has always been my favorite movie because of John Wayne and now doubly so because Glen was also in it..

      monmixer agree. Yes indeed. My dad got one in the early 70’s at Steves Music in Montreal. That was the Guitar I started on ... by the time I was in high school I pulled it out mid set and we played Jack and Diane on that beautiful guitar. Amazing neck!

    Jimmy Carter had just got out of the White House and interest rates were 21% or higher. People couldn’t buy a house or car and gas lines were up the street and around the corner and gas doubled over night under Nixon but we had no gas they said because of the Iran mess that Carter started. I became a republican after I had voted for Carter twice and I’m glad he didn’t get a second term.

    • @Melinda8162
      @Melinda8162 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ronnie Bishop. You know, I was alot younger (!) then , but, working and had a car!! I'm not sure I remember all of it, simply because I had alot going on in those years! Lots of fun times.....but, I know Carter was a nice man, not a good prez. BUT, I also know and remember NIXON was crap and pretty sure that's probably why Carter won. I was voting though , and, I did vote for Gerald Ford! I kinda liked that guy!!
