    Select a edge loop, then: F3 > Select > Select Loops > Edge Loops, (just search select edge loop in the f3 menu). This will select all loops the way you are selecting them manually!

    14:20 Just a tip that you can check the direction of the curve splines by enabling display of the curve normals (they look like centipede legs) in Edit mode. Then you can flip around the errant ones before converting to Hair Curves.
    (It would be nice to have a “Switch Direction” function for individual splines in Hair Curves themselves ...)

    'ctrl + shift + alt left click' one of the edges will select all parallel edges, then select > select loops > edge loops
    or
    select one edge loop, then select > select loops > edge loops, checkbox "Ring" after
    both ways are good 👍

  • @ashtyler8
    @ashtyler8 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    Hi NENGHUO. At 22:40 you asked for a better/faster way to select those edges. You can go into Edge Mode, select one of the Edge loops like you did in video & use the "Select" menu then "Select Loops" menu then can try "Edge Loops" or "Edge Rings", I'm pretty sure in your case it would be "Edge Rings". For example for a UV Sphere if I select a whole vertical edge line then go to Select>>Select Edge Loops>>Select Edge Rings it will select all the vertical Edges. The same thing can be done for the horizontal edges, select a whole horizontal edge, then use the same "Edge Rings" option. Thanks for the video.
    It's nice to make a shortcut for the Select Menu in your Quick Favourites, comes in handy a lot.

  • @meme-qc6rn
    @meme-qc6rn ปีที่แล้ว +1

    22:32 you could select all then deselect the horizontal rings as they are less in number and takes smaller effort then you will be left with the desired rings selected

  • @eliazarelizondo7075
    @eliazarelizondo7075 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    A better quicker way to select i just learned is by using circle select by tapping "c" on your keyboard and holding shift to select. Holding Ctrl while holding shift will circle deselect. Its like painting where your selection is.

    I'm not sure if it's really simpler but my preferred method for removing the center vertex of a sphere is to just delete it then select the closest edge loop and extrude it then scale it down.

    Hi there. I found your channel by chance, and I must say I'm beyond impressed by your work! You helped me understand Geometry Nodes and blender better than I could have figured on my own.
    However, I have two questions regarding your process:
    1) How do you manage, during 17:52 onwards, to add strands of hair that follow along the other curves and into the same point as the other strands? I don't know of any setting / option to achieve that, although my skill with geometry nodes is very limited...
    2) How do you keep the shape / resolution of the curves so clean and smooth without affecting the path they take? When I resample my curves, they seem to lose some of the shape when getting more points. Is this something you keep in mind when grooming the hair?
    Nontheless, this is an excellent video and example of what geometry nodes can help to achieve! Thank you for posting this!

    This is an absolutely talented product for the Blender hair system! Thank you for creating this gift! However, Could you make a tutorial video from nothing to hair with your product? I know this is what you try to show through this video, but it could be more detailed and less paced. It even does not need a model. Just shows us how we get started; what we need to have before we start; what we need to pay attention to while we are doing, step by step... The outliner has too much stuff that makes it hard to track which asset we are focusing on. Looking forward to getting more surprises from your future video!

      I'm having a similar issue.
      I can't seem to have the hair curves stand alone while using geometry nodes like they do in this video.

    is it possible to bake this type of hair into texture using this node?
