Finally someone says it (❤️ from italy) . Style Is about lines and the harmony of It all. Clothing is a rich culture that some brands try to make it their own, you don't have to be rich to be stylish. Elegance Is in the culture, if you can have clean clothes and take care of your hygiene you can walk proudly and with elegance. :-* I've seen rich people looking terrible with their expensive clothes. Clothing is a form of respect towards others and the situation you are in, in Europe we could never go to the supermarket or in university (!!!) in pijama not because we are pretentious but because we find it disrespectful.
I absolutely agree! How you look (I mean all together) refers to your mindset, your culture and your attitude towards people. Respect and love from Switzerland ❤
I have bunions and my Birkenstocks are my favorite sandals for this reason. They are so comfortable, supportive, and yes- masculine. However, I think they look cool with relaxed attire and much better than many "orthopedic" styles. I also enjoy hiking and camping and they are great for the outdoors, along with Chacos (which are also not elegant). When it comes to dressing nice to go out and what-not, I definitely agree with all of the other shoe advice in this video!
Anna, thank you for giving an honest appraisal of your feet. Often people refuse us our own realistic view of our bodies - as if it's a sin to be straightforward, honest and accepting of "non-perfection"! You reviewed your own feet but didn't reject them. Your acceptance of your features as they are helps you to choose items that are flattering to you. It's the best lesson for all of us. Wear what feels good. Try an item that you're attracted to but are "too shy" or "too _____" once in awhile for fun - and if that feels good then take another risk. Our clothes ought to be enjoyed. Cheers!
She seems awfully uptight about having "big feet" or "big calves" or looking short by having her legs "cut off" by different styles. So not really self-acceptance. I'm glad I wasn't very old before I decided I could use my own judgement and need for comfort and practicality over some "styling expert" to tell me what to wear. She didn't show one shoe to me that I would wear.
@@argusfleibeit1165 - Just curious. Do you consider yourself to be “elegant?” That isn't everyone's goal, or main goal, or daily goal. It's a choice, and she occasionally mentions that items that look elegant one one person doesn't look as good on the next (like how she didn't look as good in some of Kate Middleton's elegant items). People can choose to look focus on looking natural, edgy, chic/nonchalant, on trend, dramatic, etc. Comfort needs can trump style preferences. It's all a choice. Anna advises on her interpretation of elegance within her world, and she has grown in her understanding (like how using the colors most compatible with your innate coloring and contrast adds elegance). I expect to see her expand on and refine her advice over time, as she values ongoing education. She makes a solid point in this video, one to notice if you haven't done so before: visual horizontal lines, like those created by ankle straps (Especially in a contrasting color or value), literally changes how long your vertical line looks. Some people have never thought of looking for that. They can see in the video exactly what that looks like. So they can take that lesson When they go shopping and see whether or not an outfit or a shoe appears to do that to them. They can expand it, maybe picking a dark shoe and dark sunglasses to balance contrast without interrupting a light colored outfit between them, for example. Or, they can do the simple thing and find nude shoes to wear with other kinds of outfits. Now, if you want to look spunky and playful, that might not be a strategy you want to employ. And that’s fine. You understand the principal and you might choose to break up your line horizontally a lot to achieve that.
@@argusfleibeit1165 Funny, You seem to be consumed by " this nonsense ". Might I suggest something more on your level. Sesame Street, Micky Mouse club, etc..Actually this is still above your pay grade. So good luck with the tough things like breathing, how to use toilet paper.....etc.

How u describe those off shoes parallels w/ mine😅.. u perfectly described it.. I don't need to be trendy if it looks awful in my legs or will ruin my overall appearance.. thank u.. it affirms my notion about those kind of footwear.
Every shoe can be styled with the right clothes, is good to see videos like this with suggestions. In my case I don't care what men like, I care what I like. That's just my opinion.
Omg! You literally just vindicated me and my inner most thoughts about these atrocious trends!!!!!! Social media and celebrities got me gaslighting myself and doubting if I'm crazy to not find these styles something I'd wear!!!! Thank you!!!
I've been having the same thoughts recently. Most ads are showing these hideous shoes and pairing them with feminine or sexy outfits does NOT help. They are not flattering on anyone.
@@ashleydamjanac1835 The whole point of more masculine styles is for people ( like me) who dont want to look like a prissy princess, but does like feminine clothing. Thats why they are so great. If you match lug soles, or more manly shoes with flow dresses you end up looking balanced and chic. Also, in my opinion more tiny shoes make my legs look squat.
That was instructive but also hilarious. I have noticed that really classy women always have two beautiful qualities. A brilliant sense of humour and the ability to not take themselves too seriously.
Hi Anna, can you do a special on belts? I desperately need to add belts to my wardrobe both to hold up my trousers better and for fashion. Would love some tips!

Ooops. You called me out on the first pair of shoes. I went shopping earlier this year and when I was looking at summer sandals, I thought '"oh Anna would def approve!" and then a month later I watched your video on what shoes elegant women wouldn't wear. Needless to say, I still need to find a decent pair of summer shoes and this video helped so much! Thank you, Anna.
Old walking boots are the most practical shoe for everyday wear. Mine have holes in them so I can't rely on them to keep water out but the soles and everything else are still good, so I can take a shortcut across uncertain terrain whenever I wish without worrying about my feet.
Thank you so much for making this video. I’m about to go through my entire closet and get rid of stuff that is outdated or no longer suits me. I have three whole bins full of sandals, boots and pumps. I’m 4’ foot 10”, I never would even think that some of my shoes might be making me look a lot shorter. I just went shopping online. I bought a really nice pair I espadrilles that were on sale. I can wear in the summertime as they go with a few really pretty maxi dresses I already have. This video is definitely going to help me simplify my wardrobe.. Thank you Anna..
Loving the warmer hair colour, Anna; it suits you well. Thank you for making this video; I was shocked whilst shopping on the NM website recently; who is purchasing these shoes? I’d love to know 🤣
Ohh nooo, Anna, the pair of derbys were actually so nice! I think the styling is what determines if they look elegant or not. Sure, they may not be "sexy" but having a slight masculine edge to your footwear can actually work really well in an otherwise feminine wardrobe. A contrasting element can bring a lot of interest to your outfit! Instead of the dainty pair of ballet flats, I would have demonstrated a pair of loafers to get the same effect in perhaps more flattering way.
Anna could we get an elegant winter shoe video? I live in a place that gets a lot of show and while I completely agree with you on shoes that are thick and clunky it’s hard not to for thick snowy winters
I recently started working in a shoe shop and when I'm bored and there are no clients I spent my time rating the most elegant shoes, the tackiest, the ugliest... I always think, would Anna recommend this? It's actually pretty fun!
I can completely relate to all of this. I have been wearing a US Size 11 / Euro 41 or 42 since I was 11 years old. I also have a narrow foot so it is hard to find my size. When I do, I tend to get them all (I also went to private school for 12 years & wore a uniform & I pretty much dress this way ever since to the office or out). Shoes have always been a painful subject for me. I never want to get anything that will make my foot look bigger or longer than it already is. I laughed at the "shark shoe" because my mother took me to an orthopedic shoe store when I was 11 & got almost this same shoe in the mid 1970s. All that said, pick the best quality you can afford even if not designer or luxury - you have to be kind to your feet. I am very lucky in a way that my mother worked when most women did not (she was "Depression Era" & had me later in life), she worked in New York City, she knew what to wear, what not to wear, what not to wear on your feet especially. I may not have grown up with money but she never skimped on my shoes & stressed this when I started working to save for the purse but buy the GOOD SHOES now. If you take good care of them (use a shoe cobbler to fix at end of season) & not follow trends, you will have them for many years. Thank you for sharing this important information, Anna.
I can relate lol my feet expanded to a size 10N and I hope they don’t get longer(I run a lot). Otoh I feel like I can pull off half the things that make feet look wider like thongs if they’re slim. Gladiator sandals with lots of adjustable parks yes please
I also can relate to you. I'm wearing size 11 and I have wide feet with a bunion. These days it's so easier to find shoes but when I was younger it was horrible...Thanks to online shopping...
it depends often on your work demands and your body statute and medical issues, whether you can wear this or that , and I also find Birkenstock bulky but they have adjusted foot bed and no any other replacement got it yet, only if some sneakers, but with some medical foot issues it is not possible to wear closed shoe, only if 2-3 sizes bigger as your usual size...

Thank heavens for someone else seeing that the latest shoe fashions are wild. I have to admit that I love my gladiator sandals. I get away with it because I have long legs and am tall, also because I fall in to the flamboyant elegance class. So I do feel that there are nuances here. I think the trick here is that you wear these type of shoes if you are tall with long legs and that you were them as the statement element of your outfit. I am always sure to wear them with a plain dress and very minimal jewellery so that the shoes are the only striking part of the outfit.
Ana, can you please make a video in how to dress when you have dr appointments...My family makes fun of me because they think I over dress...But I know I don't...these days , people think wearing jogging cloths and open thong sandals are great to go every where...I hope this topic interests you in making a video..Hugs from FL.
Hi, I am a Med student! I would actually suggest everything you easily slide in and out so that you can be ready for examination fast, I would suggest an "airy", not too tight, blouse, tailored trousers instead of a skirt and instead of thights and loafers, minimal to no jewelry and minimal to no makeup (so that it doesn't smudge when you get dressed quickly after examination) Honestly, I think a doc wouldn't mind how you are dressed, in my personal opinion I would appreciate it if my patients dress well and appear polished, it's a sign they take good care of themselves 😊 don't really mind what your family says 🤣🤣

The shoe comparison needs to be comparable; Birkenstocks are worn for their support so your recommendation would need to feature the reason those shoes are chosen. Many women, men do not appreciate shoes which are not based on comfort even if fashionable. Loafers and other flats are good options. Chunky heal/not depends on your foot health, body physiology and long-term health goals. Foot, posture health is more important than fashion. Good basic pumps are the best and some with a bit more elevated look also useful. The subtitles cover your feet.
Agreed with the chunky loafers. They can been worn in a way that’s still classy and elegant. They’re ridiculously comfortable and make a look cohesive without sacrificing comfort.

really love the new format of actually showing the items and their replacements! hats off to you for buying all those to show us. did you return them or donate? i am sure some unfortunate ladies would need and love them, even though they may not be elegant
Even though my own style is more casual most of the time, I still like videos like this that can help me know how to achieve a more elegant look when that's what I want.
I have to have shoes with an ankle strap I don't feel safe in any form of high heeled shoes otherwise but it is interesting that you picked a natural neutral tone with your legs - I recently bought some in a neutral style to go with a certain type of dress and they are very comfortable but I love your explanation about how they make your legs look longer than they really are - thanks Anna ❤️
Unfortunately, main of these solutions match for narrow feets. I’m probably not the only one that have wider feets and cannot use loafers slip-ons and pointed heels/flats. Have someone tips maybe ? 😢
These are great points! As someone who has thicker short legs and big ankles certain shoes can make you look shorter and fatter. It’s important to try to look the best with what you’ve got no matter your size.
For me is kind of difficult to wear certain types of heels and sandals in part for my narrow feet, around the time I go usually for strapped heels or stilettos and Mary Janes because I can handle them better than the pumps, mules and those Aquazurra you shown (those i couldn't handle definitely). However It is good to learn about alternatives for minimize the "shorting" effect even using straps. Also I agree completely about all those gladiator and strappy booties, i don't see the sense of using them with shorts, miniskirts or midi skirts. I would use those "gladiator boots" that you have with a maxidress.
OMG you are so brutal...snobby and stuck up...I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just say what needs to be said. I 100% agree with everything you say, even though I don't and won't follow all of your advice....I love my chunky loafers but you are right about them! LOL! They are very big in Australia (maybe 75% of the CBD population wear in summer and despite perceptions we aren’t by the beach all the time) I don’t own a pair so lucky I’ve never been attached😆
@@DanielaSantos-tv8tt , there is zero Arch support in those as well as my wide, collapsed arches spilling out all over the place.
I love these types of videos from you Anna. But I’m also wondering if you would consider doing a video on classy homeware for those of us that have either bought or rented a new home in our level up journey and what decor is elegant in the home. I know this can be totally subjective but I love your style inspiration as a whole! 😊 💕
I agree
I just love you... you are such a fabulous and reliable classy woman. Thank you for doing this channel
Be yourself and that's elegant ✨
@@bitrudder3792 I'm glad there are some people who have so little to really worry about that they can pay attention to this nonsense.
I love it when Annan demonstrate, she always crack me up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh my goodness! Thanks for educating us Bey! You’re the best!! ❤️❤️
Completely agree with you Anna, very much helpful. Well, i am keeping my chunky loafers until i grow out of them the shoes are quiet very big that i agree🤭😅 but they they super comfortable 🤞💃
I love the approach to this video! I've never been a fan of videos where we're just told what doesn't look good. I love the "Here's what I don't recommend - but here's a better option" format. I hope you will consider this format for any other videos you do on "what not to wear." It's much more helpful like this!
Hey dear how are you…..?😊😊
Absolutely no one roasts bad fashion so elegantly like Anna can!💅🤣
Agreed🤣
The 3rd shoe took me out 🤣
I always love all of the stuff she hates!
🤣🤣
Thank you for explaining the espadrilles! I bought them and couldn't work out why they looked funny! They can only be worn with a long dress! You cracked the code anna! Great video
The basic pump will always be in style. I've seen them come and go several times in my lifetime. That class/classic style.
I agreee
Couldn't agree more
Love that you are actually showing us what to wear instead! Examples are great.
Hi Anna, can you do a special on belts? I desperately need to add belts to my wardrobe both to hold up my trousers better and for fashion. Would love some tips!
Oh my goodness! I could not stop laughing! I can agree with you to the fullest, every single pair you deemed ugly,.. It was as though you were reading my mind... I'm so glad you have sensual, feminine ,classy taste!... Fabulous, thank you darling. Oxox oxox oxox oxox oxox
I'm loving your new hairstyle. The shorter length looks so fresh and youthful. Beautiful, elegant lady! 😍
She also changed her hairs tone which compliments her skin more. It looks fantastic
Birkenstocks are so comfortable to at least run errands in!
I have three pairs of birks..they are so comfortable. I'll never give em up lol
I have bulky tights and leg and wide feet too, and seeing Ana style herself just 😍😍😍 There is hope for me 😍 Thank you so much ❤️
U dont need to runiing everywhere in high heels. Thats for ocasion, for 1 or 2 hours to look pretty.
Old walking boots are the most practical shoe for everyday wear. Mine have holes in them so I can't rely on them to keep water out but the soles and everything else are still good, so I can take a shortcut across uncertain terrain whenever I wish without worrying about my feet.
I absolutely love the chunky loafers! They rock
Your balance while showing these shoes is so great. You still look elegant showing them even if they're not elegant shoes on their own.☺️
Loving the warmer hair colour, Anna; it suits you well.
Thank you for making this video; I was shocked whilst shopping on the NM website recently; who is purchasing these shoes? I’d love to know 🤣
This is why not everything you see on social media or people wearing and you feel it will fit into you
Some ladies should probably know what fit them
Ohh nooo, Anna, the pair of derbys were actually so nice!
I agree with the last shoes, flats with a pointy toe looks awful on anyone and it makes your feet look super long and clownish.
You’re literally the funniest most informative and attractive personality teacher I have ever listened too! 😂
Anna could we get an elegant winter shoe video? I live in a place that gets a lot of show and while I completely agree with you on shoes that are thick and clunky it’s hard not to for thick snowy winters
Yes, I live in northern Michigan, it's always icy, snowy and slippery outside wintertime. That's why everyone wears those thick chunky boots
I know I ve wore the same horrible boots all winter
I love the beige sandals, and well - hermes is the best and most elegant for summer.
The chunky loafers looked so good though
I recently started working in a shoe shop and when I'm bored and there are no clients I spent my time rating the most elegant shoes, the tackiest, the ugliest... I always think, would Anna recommend this? It's actually pretty fun!
Which shop?
You should make a video on your ratings for shoes!!!
Anna, i love your sense of humor!
And finally someone to say that the same type of footwear does not suit everyone.
Yesssss
This video is about shoes that look elegant and is not about shoes that help if you have foot problems.
Was about to order those PVC zara heels. I love how it elongates feet and goes with just any cloth
Never thought we would ever see Anna mentioning Shein😂 And tap dancing!!! Love your effortless sense of humour😂
Oh I love Shein, it's my favorite place to shop. All newest fashion and affordable prices that's most important
@@flower48212 Shein sucks, let's be honest. Full of cheap-looking and low quality items. This space is for women who want to elevate their style and not appear cheap.
Randomly recommended video of someone who speaks my language, especially about those fugly first slippers ugh!! 🙄 I subscribe! Hahaha! I always wanted to tell my friends your exact words now I'm just gonna send them 😂🤣 your accent makes it all sound less offensive
Anna, this is your best video recently! I really like the idea that you share what to wear instead and give the positive examples. I would love to see in future this kind of videos - what not to wear and what to wear instead :))
Omg!! Finally! A styling I can understand. I admit Im not a fashionista in any way - im more of a classic girl, but some trends I understand the aesthethic appeal. These bulky, “high-end” footwears though? Im just baffled.
16:24 Anna, I know it’s not your taste, but these look great on you!!
Excellent topic suggestion. I get made fun of, as well, because I dress like a proper lady when going to medical appointments.
actually a great idea
Hi, I am a Med student! I would actually suggest everything you easily slide in and out so that you can be ready for examination fast, I would suggest an "airy", not too tight, blouse, tailored trousers instead of a skirt and instead of thights and loafers, minimal to no jewelry and minimal to no makeup (so that it doesn't smudge when you get dressed quickly after examination)
Honestly, I think a doc wouldn't mind how you are dressed, in my personal opinion I would appreciate it if my patients dress well and appear polished, it's a sign they take good care of themselves 😊 don't really mind what your family says 🤣🤣
Elegant ladies dont go to doctors. They are in perfect health.
@@hotbitch13 I do recommend a check up every two years (gynecologist once a year) though, to recognize malignant diseases in advance. Pregnancy is also a time of a lady's life in which she is subject to more medical attention
She not even knows the meaning of the word comfort…. This is people who dresses to attract men… the annihilation of 120 years of women emancipation is here on this channel 😂
My grandma would be thrilled with her videos, she's such a grandma 🧓😅
3:06 I agree this looks more clean, because the previous silver one it just looks theres too much going on there
So thankful to see I’m not going (too) crazy, ha. The wide square shoe reminds me of a platypus and I simply cannot un-see it + clear shoes start to quickly resemble sweat tinted saran/cling wrap😣
Also- your evolution is POWERFUL! You’ve softened even more deeply to a compassionate, ultra feminine woman.
A winter version would be wonderful and helpful. I try to wear more dresses and skirts in winter but with the right shoes I always have difficulties. thanks 🥰
Such a joy to watch Anna and how she developed the recent two years in front of the camera. I love her inspiring personality and confidence! Thank you for your inspiring content.
Hi Anna. This was the first video I watched from you. I have a question. What to wear, if:
- I g=have pretty wide feet;
- My feef was broken and i have restrictions to wear heals on daily basis;
- if there is no stripe around anckle i can't wear heal;
and as per surgeon shoes have to be comfortable, supporting feet and not pressing on bone that was broken.
thank you in advance! Maria
I like using more chunky boots but with jeans, and I agree depending on your legs it might not look good!
Omg. I kinda LOVE the first look: Birks w/a flowy midi skirt and tank 🤷🏾♀️ If you were going to a farmers market, all you need is a wide-brim straw hat lol. Sooooo cute!!! Come on… don’t tell me you didn’t secretly like it
your videos have always been great but they're getting better and better!! Love how you show the shoes/clothes on yourself now and make comparisons as that makes it even better to understand. Thank you so much 💕
Imagine wearing shoes because they're comfortable and you like the way they look
Lol not according to anna
That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the first solution shoe 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Theunleashedmakoti I was like ew who’s gonna wear that? Certainly not me.
Wear what you want but she is right about what kind of shoe is classy and elegant. This channel is for people who want to be elegant
You can wear whatever you want but that doesn’t mean it will be elegant, which is the point of the video
Im not usually looking for a elegant or very feminine look, I’m more on the cute and edgy side of things but I watched the video to the end and I’ve understood why despite wanting to be trendy I never liked most of the trendy shoes you showed us as not elegant haha, guess I might have some of an elegant part in my personal style then. Thank you for the video
Have you ever seen a “worse’r” combo than this?😂 ANNA!😂❤ Don’t say worser!😂❤️
Loved this video Anna! I agree with all except the chunky loafer - they just look soo cute in the fall with a skirt and sweater, I can’t stop wearing them haha
Loved all the tips! I like looking a little polished compared to most. I like Diving into my feminine side but I also like masculine styles as well. So for me personally I really like the chunky loafers and the Oxford type shoes. I agree with everything else though!
Hey dear how are you…..?😊😊
I agree with all,of your recommendations. I do however have a pair of quilted Bottega slides and I got the style that’s not as poofy. I do love them and they are comfortable. Fortunately, I have a narrow foot so they look good. Thank you for the video!
Truth is.."I don't understand what you're talking about lady"🤷🏽
I believe these are your definitions of "elegance" it most certainly isn't truth for many of us(and we're quite a sum) .

I wasn’t sure about the title of this video at first, but she does have good tips😂. I’m always impressed Anna by your advice!
Hey dear how are you…..?😊😊
Unfortunately, main of these solutions match for narrow feets. I’m probably not the only one that have wider feets and cannot use loafers slip-ons and pointed heels/flats.
Have someone tips maybe ? 😢
I love the Birkenstock sandals!! And I think they look great.
Same! I have three pairs lol I'll never give them up
Same they are my go to travel shoes for a warm vacay
Horrible shoes..
chunky platform boots and sandals look great with flare/bellbottom jeans. They go together like peanut butter and jelly.
The chunky loafers looked so great on you!! Runway good!
I would use those "gladiator boots" that you have with a maxidress.
lol, pancake foot 😂
You're always on point, Ana, thank you!
OMG you are so brutal...snobby and stuck up...I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just say what needs to be said. I 100% agree with everything you say, even though I don't and won't follow all of your advice....I love my chunky loafers but you are right about them! LOL! I am subscribing and binge-watching right now.
Anna, you are getting SO funny. I had a much needed laugh. You're so right, as always!
