Lukas did the most beautiful NMM copper I've ever seen in your Drukhari video. Combining lichen purple with fiery orange, mmmmhhng I use that every time since I saw it! Thx for Squidly Bits you rock!
You should promote this channel more on your main channel. I didn't even know it existed until last week or so. I think you've mentioned it in a single video or something
This is an excellent tutorial and as it happens I'm already painting something with NMM copper as we speak. Definitely going to tweak what I have with these colors for sure.
perfect timing, I have been on a nmm grind and got down silver/steel at least on swords/axes. I have the maggot kin and wanted some nmm copper on his arm piece.
Very nice, what about doing any varnishing before the final stage and then using a TMM paint, or doing any varnishing after what you've shown and then coming in with a few dots of a TMM paint? I know there are some hybrid NMM TMM methods and I'm wondering what adjustments you would make to this to go that route, or if this would just be a bad base for going the hybrid route?
Hey man, we don't use any TMM or varnish when painting NMM. When you paint with TMM, you normally shade it with regular paints to get the feel of it having a mix.
Would be nice to use the paints I ordered with the videos. I specifically ordered all 3 sets to challenge my skills and improv with your tutorials but apparently it’s harder and harder to ship non toxic items to the USA. Haha. I still will use these videos to improve but I will just have to get all the paints individually on store shelves since simple non toxic items can’t be shipped properly to me in “the land of the free”.
I'm brand new to the hobby, so if I decided to do this NMM for dwarven copper, what would I do to the other side of the model? Its never really explained across all videos i look at.. I understand the idea of the light being in front and above, but does that mean i would leave the back the dark rust color? Also since dark rust is new i cant find an equivalent in other paints.. any help
@@spilbobaggins I appreciate it, I was hoping to find a close equivalent in fanatic ap because I did the whole buy the 50 paint pack... And obviously the less other paint I have to buy the better. But I'll look at a local store and see if they have that
@@oflynnagain I'm sure any very dark brown would work, so something like Oak brown from AP fanatic should be fine if you have that. Don't get too hung up on the exact paints (unless you really have nothing close); give it a go with what you have and if you really don't like it, then go for it and grab the colours you need then.
Hey Emil or Lukas, please reach out. I just received my Squidmar wet palette and there was no hydration foam or paper… just empty. I just sent another email regarding this situation, but I hope it can be fixed.
Once you get the hang of light placement it doesn’t matter what type of metal or what colour you try, if you after shiny coloured armour, the principle is the same
@beetle5000 I get that. I'm afraid to try. I don't want to get frustrated with it and I'm not sure I have colours for any one metal option. I've been thinking about 3d printing armored minis just to practice on.
@@chrisgould5606 yeah practice on simple objects like something from your bits box like a shoulder pad or just something your too bothered about or you could even try drawing a sphere, cylinder or a cone so you have a basic idea of light placement, even taking a picture of the mini then boosting the contrast values will give you something to sketch with, I hope at least some of this is helpful for you
Thank you for giving so much to the painting community ❤

This short format tutorial videos are really great for a quick reminder of the main steps and for color reference.
Awesome stuff!!!
I was literally looking for a copper nmm video and then this popped up in my notifications. I can’t thank you enough 🙌

I'm properly enjoy these quick uploads. Please keep them coming!
I will be giving this a go when my new Squidmar paints arrive! Can't wait!
I bought your new color bundles so I hope I will see some Horus Heresy tutorials for these colors in the near future :)
Dark gold / Bronze NMM yes please!
Would love to see a classic space marine with just your essential colours
These are great, are you gonna do a silver video?

Amazing recipe! Please do a Bronze One, that would be awesome! :3
Amazing video!!! This helps a ton.
Light placement seems to be my main issue. How about doing a video of the old Heroquest Chaos Warrior using this method? 😅
thank you
How cool ✨✨
Love these, I would love more tips on replicating your saturated multicolor Ork army.
Most informative!
Fantastic
Awesome really good that we can just use the paints in your set . Maybe can we have a fire elemental with the set.
So very cool ! GG

Wonderful muted, but still striking, colour combination

Hey man, they can be shipped. Did you get the tsca form from h&s? Otherwise I can help provide it
What colours would you use for Steel NMM?

Rhinox Hide is probably a fine equivalent. But you should be able to get dark rust anywhere that sells vallejo. It's not squidmar exclusive.

When do your paints actually start shipping?
I ordered a week ago and it shipped after a couple days
@@silastorpegaard1206 I ordered 8 days ago and haven't heard anything yet. But good to know they are shipping them already
Good question, mine are still not delivered
@@IndecentFish Same here. I emailed them today and haven't heard anything back yet
I ordered day of release, and have already received and started painting with them
When do the paints and palette start shipping?
I read on facebook that they are shipping around 200 orders a day, but that there are a lot of orders
@@Snacklord_Dennis damn I ordered day 1
I got my palette a couple of days ago (Australia)

So what's the easiest nmm armour colours to attempt? Gold, silver, bronze, brass, copper?
