Emerald Urathane is more of a trim paint. It is one of the only waterborne paints I Have found that I can sand and get powder and not latex gunk as what typically happens. I prefer it for doors and trim but don’t use it anywhere else. This urathane has saved some major problems because of being able to sand out problems from an accident. It dries fast, but does take 30 days to cure similar to oil. This video was awesome and very enlightening. Cashemere surprised me as I have hardly used it and mainly used duration. If you don’t look at coverage as much, Emerald does seem to clean easier if you Watch Project Farm video. Keep it up!
I used cashmere on 3 separate jobs. 2 things I found out. It is silky smooth and spreads very well but does Not cover well at all. It was the worst coverage and took up to 3 coats to cover on 3 different color/shades. Never used it again. I only use Duration or Emerald. Great products.
I’ve found that Promar 200 works very well on top of a decent primer, like zinsser 123, which is the way I paint when changing dark colors to white. Always use a high solids content white primer first, then paint. Saves money and gives you better adhesion.
I don't know if they changed the formula for cashmere but it doesn't seem to have a good coverage anymore. I can usually get away with 2 coats but the paint I bought recently seems really cheer.
I am not aware of any changes to Cashmere, but thanks for your comment. Not to sound insulting, but you mentioned "cheer" if you meant "clear" than it could be that the paint wasn't stirred enough. Just a thought.
Its strange that the Duration interior didnt cover well but the Duration exterior has by far the best coverage of the SW products from my experience. Do you have any exterior tests?
Appreciate the video but you uploaded this in 720p. For the viewers to really get an idea of the difference between the sheens, higher resolution video is needed. 4K video is ideal but 2K would suffice!
I inquired about paint for furniture. I was given the “All Surface Enamel” I painted a dresser after primer. It’s been two weeks and the paint on my dresser feels soft. Not hard like it suppose to feel. What if anything did I do wrong?
I'm sure you would agree that overage is important regardless of what you are painting. Additional coats means additional time and product. On SW website it says that "it goes on in fewer coats" that wasn't what I found. Thanks for your response I appreciate your thoughts.
Emerald is easy to work with and high quality, nice appearance, but it covers too poorly for me to want to use. I'd have to charge more labor to do that 3rd coat. And if I'm doing a whole house cabinets and trim, that's an extra 2 days labor.

Ugh I bout emerald…I didn’t check pricing. Way to expensive and didn’t need the heavy coverage. I would’ve been soo mad if I’d had color Brand new dry wall/primer. I don’t know what I was thinking
Until you use the $30 paint and you're on your 4th coat. Which really makes that $30 paint cost you $60 because you have to use twice as much. So now you're looking at only saving $10 but doing twice the work.
They usually have sales on them.. they can be had for around 48-58$ a gallon.. still expensive, but right around what you’d pay for a premium Behr paint anyways

Why would one pick a grey primer over your general white primer? Thanks for the video

Do you do any kind of tile painting? I need to update some tile, thank you!

Agree! Ruined one of my jobs i brought my rep in and check the walls. I was pissed

Was it oil based?
Omg try Lowe’s ‘furniture & cabinet’? It goes on without sanding and dries rock hard like a manufactured finish
Promar is a maintenance paint. If you own rental units and need a decent cheap paint to use then promar 200 is an excellent choice
Agreed..but great for ceilings!
Except it's 71.99. I pay 31. Still would rather use Behr combo for 25 if the budget is low and good care taken etc
The reason the emerald urethane didn’t cover well is because it’s for trim and cabinets; not dry wall.

I agree coverage is key.
That's why I only use Behr marquee.
Out performs all of the products you used.
That stuff is almost as viscous as toothpaste
Not concerned about the coverage..but more on finish smoothness.

Yes that is true. You can ask the person behind the counter to add a couple drops of black for better coverage.
can you use cashmere in the bathrooms and kitchen?
yes
I would recommend duration for bathrooms with showers
Good evning! how can i become your dealer in kazakhstan
I want get benefit but my English is not good
I will work as at store of this painter
very surprised by the urethane.
I agree. It is hard to tell from the photos. But in person, both Promar 200 and Urethane stood out as the worst coverage.
Cashmere #1. Benjamin Moore satin impervo semi gloss smokes any sherwin trim and door paint. Too bad they don’t sell it anymore

Why continue to use the term coverage when you're talking about hide?
Overwhelmingly, most people google "coverage" not hide. This way people can find the information instead of it hiding from them.

Listed prices are not aging well...
yea, updating the prices would mean I lose all of my views.
So cashmere is worth the savings, in other words
yes
Dont get cashmere.. get either solo, super paint , duration , emerald
@@melindalevesque3309 I went with duration and love it!!
@@melindalevesque3309 care to elaborate?
@@enajhajj2381 no need.. take the advice dont use it. Or risk it. Your choice 🤷♀️🤣
