I didn’t know cake donuts weren’t a thing in the UK! In the US most shops have both varieties (yeasted and cake). In fact, the donuts sold at apple orchards are mainly the cake variety and dusted in cinnamon sugar!

Peter Pan is old school and is still great. The coconut is my favorite and the plain cruller. Also it's half the price of the fancy places. Ive been going there for 15 years

I prefer bread doughnuts more than cake doughnuts. How do you stay so slim? Eating those pastries would increase the numbers on my bathroom scale drastically. 😄🇨🇦

Magnolia Bakery is know for its banana pudding.
Nothing is more disappointing than going to a hyped place, waiting in long line and got a cake that tastes really mediocre... Thank you for being so authentic on camera! ☺
You can buy the same croissants in South Kensington in Philippe Conticini Salon de The, 2 minutes from the underground station.

I was disappointed by Magnolia bakery too. I suspect many American bakeries, even the most famous New York ones, will be let down, by comparison to UK and French bakeries, by our poorer quality/ lower fat/ higher processed dairy products.

Magnolia is a joke.. sorry Chetna. A tourist attraction. And sadly it's never actually been good even back in the day.
Nice video, but you tried only one thing in each place, and we can't actually decide if a place is good or bad based on a single selection.

So Kossar's is really known for their Bialys not their bagels. and sadly the bialys are not what they used to be. Their bagels are too big and bready. There are great bagels but they should only be 3.5 ounces.. You would love bagels if you had a legit old school one.
