    FYI Devils Fork has tent camping, RV camping and “Villas”, which are 2-3 bedroom house size cabins with a/c, kitchen, screened deck and outdoor fireplace. The villas have their own boat parking area. In addition, you can book a day trip tour boat that will meet you at the dock.

    Looks like the middle of the boat didn't touch the water which is good. That makes it real easy for the trolling motor to push the paddleski,

    Which motor and battery did you have

    After using my new paddleski with a trolling motor. I was shocked by the way it handled. It seemed like I had to constantly adjust the steering because either it wanted to turn left or right and couldn't find a sweet spotting where it would just go straight longer than a few seconds. Me and my daughter were on it that day and had two batteries. What was your experience with your Trolling motor and the steering?

      Yes, the same in the beginning, till I figure out it is best to just let the troller run (tighten the tiller and set to straight) and then just steer with your paddle. Kind of like turning it into an e-kayak. Works best for me, and it’s fun and easy that way. Good luck and enjoy!

      @@roadnotesrv Thanks for the tip. I had a feeling that might be the way to go. Also the company who sells a sailing rig for the boat also sells a clamp on rudder that might helpful but kind of pricey for what it is.

    Curious as to how fast you can go with the trolling motor on the 437 Paddleski?

      On the highest setting (5) it goes plenty for us. I would say about 4-5 mph with a single and maybe 3-4 mph in a tandem version. Only thing is it would drain your battery much faster. I prefer to us the E-kayak version where I use it more as a paddle assist. Thank you

      I have a Torqeedo 1003s lithium electric motor on my Paddleski. It's equal to a 3HP gas motor. I've had one for a decade now. The Paddleski 437ps can handle up to a 6HP motor.
      The Torqeedo is expensive, but a great light weight highly portable electric motor with no gasoline fumes to smell inside your car. Mine gets a lot of use. The battery is very light weight too. I got sick of the acid car style battery on my trolling motor, but lithium batteries are also available for trolling motors today.
      Take a look at the TH-cam video titled "Moteur Torqeedo 1003 S sur annexe" and advance to 1 minute in to get an idea of the speed you can get from an electric motor such as this one.
      I bought the Torqeedo more because of it's power against a strong wind and currents as I almost didn't make it back a few times with a trolling motor out in the bay, in some rivers and very large lakes. It's also nice to be able to see a lot more of an area in less time too. My trips are usually 1.5 hours to 3 hours typically. Very few people I know want to spend more time out on a boat unless I go alone.

    What trolling motor are you using? Thrust? Would you recommend it over gas?

      @roadnotesrv  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, we’re using a Newport 55 lbs thrust trolling motor, which works out great. For more power and if you want to cover more distance, I would recommend a gas motor 4-6 hp. Hope this helps.

      @@roadnotesrvSorry to keep bothering you. What shaft length for your trolling motor? Did you get the Kayak version?

    What size battery are you using?

    • @roadnotesrv
      @roadnotesrv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, it's a Mighty Max Battery, 12V, 55 ah. All other details I have linked to our website "kayak accessories" page: roadnotesrv.com/kayak-accessories-1
      It' an awesome battery, and hold the charge very well and for a long time. I also have it sitting in smart box.
