No way that board was working. They neglect to tell you to install a jumper wire underneath D1 in order to get the power to the switch. In addition, there is no amplification, only preamp.

stop doing anything this circuit is a preamplifier it is totally impossible to drive a speaker directly with a circuit like this I have the same one and it doesn't work it's impossible
You can use this thing for active speakers
you can try with a high ohm, and high sensitive speaker. it will do sounds.
