Always find these channels amusing. As an experienced engineer this is terrible. Unlike some others out there this will actually work, range a few hundred feet max maybe not 5km! Clearly no idea what they are doing though. At these frequencies it should be a double sided board with one side a ground plane and you keep the component lead lengths to a minimum. The output device in the diagram in the links looks reasonable, the one in the video does not!
@@czekuchit's realistic if you have a transmitter that's capable of delivering at least 7-8 watts of power into the antenna(such transmitters are pretty popular today) and a good tuned antenna placed as high as possible
What is the output transistor? Can it generate 5-8 watts of power ??? The antenna is not needed if there is nothing to send. The project allows for communication up to 150 m. This is my opinion, yours may be different.@@alexakhmetov4616
Anyone wanting to build this HE MISSED A CRUCIAL STEP IN THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS. You see he never included a resistor to give a + bias to the base leg to first stage oscillator transistor. It will not do anything without that resistor in which is what happened when I built it. I finally noticed at 3:39 you can see the extra resistor he forgot to add in the first place. It looks like a 2.2kohm and is on the immediate left side of the variable capacitor. Mine still only transmits a few feet, though I didn’t use the same transistors he used and mine are far from being rated for the frequencies

Também gostaria de obte-lo ,numa parte do video aí pode notar que nas bobinas de fios uma é trocada , e também logo a frente do transístor SC2078 tem um outro elemento da para notar um conector preto na hora de regular a frequência aí no video que não foi mostrado no video na hora da soldagem!! Para calcular un dipolo simplemente divides 150 entre la frecuencia, por ejemplo para 100 mhz sería 150/100 = 1.5 m o 150 cm eso sería media onda, luego cortas varillas de 75 cm cada una (75 x 2 = 150) y las pones separadas unos 3 cm en línea recta y a una va el vivo y a la otra la masa o tierra. Tendrás un bonito dipolo cuya eficiencia es sorprendente.

Doesn't anyone make proper through hole PCBs anymore ? These single sided top-soldered designs may be good for teaching beginners how to solder but not really good for a permanent device. Too easy for components with legs that are too long for RF work to be knocked over/disturbed causing shorts.
How NOT to build a circuit for VHF. Leads should be as short as possible, components close to the board: not waving around almost a centimetre above it. All that extra inductance and capacitance is asking for failure. Please DON'T regard this video as an example of "good construction technique" - it's the exact opposite. :-(

Agree! Very poor technique: components waving above the board? Scarcely OK for audio, let alone VHF. :-(
I had a lot back in the 80s that I used a commercial matched antenna and boosted the power to 12 volts and got a mile range

Yes, using a longer antenna increases the range of the FM transmitter
This transmitter works properly within perimeter of the table it is situated on. One stage amplifier on 9018 and 5 km it is a very nice tale.
