You managed to teach me in half an hour what the documentation and howtos of two commercial products plus YEARS of trial and error and countless nights filled with frustration failed to accomplish. Mind=blown. Thank you so much. So very much.
This tutorial is (again) SO freaking amazing mate. You provide tutorials that 20$ assets on the store pretend they'd do for you automatically. And often not a great way by default. You're truly a DAZ mastermind. Understanding the interface a way most people can't. Thank you SO much for all your precious help.
The products in the stores (Daz3D and renderosity) are there to save time. If you trying to get a certain look quickly then these products can help you. It's all about convenience. The majority of products in the stores are of high quality and you can get really good results. For example we can all learn ZBrush and create realistic figures, but that takes time to learn and it is just easier to purchase a character or a morph to save time. It all depends on how you value your time and what you wish to do with your time.
Thanks for the great tutorial. To make the water drops popping out, I changed the tiles to 1-1 - to make water drops bigger. Use the texture image 7 (not its normal map) for Top Coat Bump and set its value to 2. Then looking much better. Try it out.
You are really kicking out some amazing DAZ tutorials. This one was especially useful for me and I hope to start making some test wet skin renders to try it out soon. I also love that you explained what so many of the sliders do, not just what to set them at. It really helps me to understand the Iray settings.
Thank you for your in-depth wet skin tutorial. I'm wondering if it might be possible for you to make a video on how to make the clothing and hair for the Daz studio figures appear wet?
Hi there Parmy, Been watching a lot of your tutorials, they are just what I need, and very easy to follow. For my geneis 8.1 bodies there does not seem to be a glossy category, where is this and if it is no longer available what is the equivalent please?
Thanks for your very kind words. You will have to use the dual lobe specular settings to achieve the wet look if the glossy section is not in the new PBRSkin shader. After my graphic novel Tiger Dragon: The Rebirth has been completed, I will create a TH-cam video covering the new PBRSkin shader in great detail.
Hello, I would like thank you for this video. I am using your recommendation. I have just notice why are some people using glossy layer weight. I have to use it too sometimes, because for some reasons the "top coat" is not working with anatomy correction. It makings visible "shorts" on the model.
Thank you for these tutorials. As you progress, would you please record them in higher definition? It really helps to see the small details of sliders better. Thanks again!
I can confirm that all my videos are recorded in HD. It is one thing that I did in the beginning because from experience I know how annoying it is to watch a video and not being able to clearly see what is happening in the tutorial.
@@ParmyBaddhan No offense meant. I see the sliders better on a smaller device like my iPad, but when I view them on my larger computer monitor, the 1080 HD lost it’s clarity. Thanks again.
I'm sorry that I didn't cover this in the video. Instructions are below: 1. click on the image map for the cutout opacity and selected layered image editor. 2. From the rotate drop down menu choose 90 degrees. 3. click accept. 4. repeat for any other image maps for the arms.
Yes, this is possible. You will have to save the geoshell as a material preset. Then when you want to use this preset on another genesis 8 character, create a geoshell and then apply the saved material preset.
I created the wet map using Rons photoshop brushes that I purchased. You can also use other textures that are similar to the ones I created by doing a google search. You have unlimited options available to you.
@@ParmyBaddhan Yeah I purchase most my stuff through Daz3d but I have been wanting to expand my knowledge. I tried googling and researching creating normal maps for water. Thanks I'll dig a little more :D
I believe girl 6 does not come with the Iray Shader applied. You can apply the iray shader to girl 6 and then you will see the settings as described in the video.
@@ParmyBaddhan Was about to make a gumroad today to sell NSFW 3D animations and they have 15GB max uploads which is good but if you have a return rate over 1%, they deactivate your account. That's not cool people spend all that time uploading 3D x and they deactivate just cause a troll want's their money back, and they don't even have to tell you why your account is deactivated, and they jack your money when that happens. Wack! Do you know any sites I can post NSFW videos I make in Daz3d?
Geoshells only work in Daz Studio. It's one of the many limitations of Geoshells. You could try the Daz to blender bridge as this is constantly being updated.
Daz Studio is a 3D rendering program that can be used to create artwork and animations using premade items. Daz Studio is available for Macbooks, however I would recommend a nvidia graphics card for Iray rendering or you can use the 3delight or filament rendering engine as an alternative, all of these rendering options come pre-installed with Daz Studio.

THIS!!
Noted!! thanks for sharing!
I hope this video helps you to achieve your goals with Daz Studio.
Thank you for explaining what the settings do that you are adjusting. Your tutorials are fantastic!!
Glad it was helpful!
Great Tutorial, many thanks

This is on my to do list.
God! You finally made it! :D
Wet skin is not my speciality. Hopefully this tutorial will give you some insights on creating your very own wet skin.
Wonderful tutorial!..
Thanks for your kind comment. Please use the resources in the description to further aid you to create the best wet skin that you can.
Thank you for another awesome tutorial.
You're welcome. Hopefully the Iray shader is not looking so ominous anymore as we dissect it piece by piece in tutorials.
I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you for this video. Keep up the good work 💪👍💪👍
Thanks for the kind comment. I will continue to serve this community to the best of my ability.
@@ParmyBaddhan that's do cool. I'll be looking forward to it 👍🏿💯✨🔥

Thanks for the tutorial. brilliant
You're very welcome! Make sure you checkout the other links to consolidate the wet skin approach in Daz Studio.
What figures did you end up with on the tiling to change the direction of the water on the arms, that bit I couldn't follow you.
Thank you for these tutorials. As you progress, would you please record them in higher definition? It really helps to see the small details of sliders better. Thanks again!

Please update this for Genesis 9. Cannot find any of these parameters in the Genesis 9 surfaces.
So what do you do to correct the orientation of the water runs on the arms so they are going the right way?

I created a geometry shell but the refraction weight option is missing, same as mtallic flakes weight, top coat and some others. How to fix that?
You need to apply the iray shader to the geoshell, th-cam.com/video/-SgZMCxlzfk/w-d-xo.html
nice work!
Thanks!
Great tutorial I would like to create a wet skin geo shell that I can use with any genesis 8 female figure ... is that possible?
Yes, this is possible. You will have to save the geoshell as a material preset. Then when you want to use this preset on another genesis 8 character, create a geoshell and then apply the saved material preset.
@@ParmyBaddhan I look forward to your tutorial

Lol! Not a God, just here to help you level up.
Sorry was a typo
none of us is "God",
but very well explained!
Just saved me from having to buy another product from the DAZ store! Thanks
Glad to help!
I tried to do this on girl 6 but the menu selection does not have wet skin controls, does the wet skin only apply to G8??
I believe girl 6 does not come with the Iray Shader applied. You can apply the iray shader to girl 6 and then you will see the settings as described in the video.

always wanted this tutorial 😁
Yes, wet skin seems to be a very popular topic area. I'm sure the Daz3D pros know how to make really great wet skin for all skin tones.
when i export it to blender, why isn't the wet skin from geo shell showing?

what is DAZ studios, how can i install it, i am working on a mermaid character...is it available for MacBook Air
