Bob LeeEven tho' I've attended 58 of the MJF's & set designs on 3 of them, I still get moved when I come across video's of the MJF's. There's nothing to compare to this happening. Over the years I've become friends with so many of these musicians & in some occasions I've been fortunate enough go produced many in concert & club dates. Thanks for a beautiful hour.
I'm not sure why, but after the last song with Chuck Mangione and Gerry Niewood, the narrator incorrectly says "Pat Labarbera" on drums, but it's actually "JOE Labarbera". Amazing drummer!! Odd, but there you go. 😎
Me again...how can I purchase a CD copy of this '78 MJF ? It was the last one my late wife & our daughter attended together. It was also on Thursday nite, at the cook-out, we were invited to a private party at Doc Ricket's Lab, in Cannery Row, that turned out to be Mundell Lowes & Betty Bennett's wedding performed by the then President of the MJF.Marion McPartland rode with us because she didn't know her way around Monterey.
It's a Hebrew song called Eretz Zavat Halav. It is sung "Eretz Zavat Halav" and then there's the 2 "Clap-Clap" and then "Halav U'devash". It's a folk song people know for ages and it became famous when Nina Simone did it in the 50s.
@@AlanSenzaki Forgive me.. I'm a novice... You seem to imply something, but your not saying it... Did Evan's somehow lose his quality instrument.. Pawn it for drug money? I dont get it.
@@AMEER-114- Iam not implying anything. Just saying Stienways are a better piano but very expensive. Close to $100,000 dollars. Yamaha’s are a fraction of the cost. That’s all.
@@AlanSenzaki Ok... I guess I'm thick... I thought you had some understanding of why he wasnt playing his own quality instrument. Something to do with cost that someone couldnt afford.
Clark is mellow and flowing on his fluegelhorn, Desmond is sublime as always, Bill is glorious! Thanks for posting!❤
Gerry Niewood....the sax man!

What year was this?
1975
Too bad Bill Evans had to play a Yamaha piano instead of a Bosendorfer or Steinway.
When?
@@AMEER-114-in this video. You can clearly see the Yamaha logo on the piano he’s playing. Stienways are expensive so that’s probably the reason.😮
