- Stormy Weather & Boat Works, Starts With Blinds. We have been working to get all the jobs done before we haul out in March. We have been busy but, the blinds on Impavidus were top of the list for renovation.

We are now in season 7
In 2018 we left the UK to sail around the world slowly. After Brexit, a "Pandemic" and major heart surgery we are still sailing, documenting our travels and showing you what we have learned so far.
We are hoping to complete our journey, and travel right around the world even if we have had a few setbacks along the way. We will continue at our own pace and that may be fast or slow. We want to be sure not to miss anything and have stories to tell our grandchildren when we are old and grey.

Lots of stuff I’m looking forward to seeing including the heater element. I changed all the original through hulls on our ‘03 Oceanis 361 to trudesign last year and so far so good. I actually think they’ve stayed cleaner than the old ones.
So much going on at the moment here. Been really busy. Tuesday sees White Cat come out and then we have 12 through hulls to change! Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid
Friends of mine that have an Oyster 56 just replaced almost all of their 25(!) through holes with plastic sea cocks and they are very pleased with them. No more galvanic corrosion and they seems to be less sea creatures that want to call it their home.

I don't have a boat (yet) but I know that over at Kraken yachts in Bodrum, they tested out various through hulls by sinking them in the marina for several months and found that the true design plastic ones were the only ones that could still be operated, the growth just popped off the ball of the valve when it was turned. So that's all they install. For whatever that's worth.
