Well done on your review. I own this bike. I got it after a toss up between the Aprilia Tuono Factory V4 2018, in which I chose the V4. I didn’t even have it for a season before opting to buy the 1290r. I actually think the fuelling and street riding is as smooth as butter for a V-twin if you have it in street mode. It does like to sit in 2nd gear at town speeds but does it so well (far better than the hunting V4 Aprilia). The fuel economy is class leading across the whole range of naked bikes in the 1000cc+ displacement category. I’ve seen as much as 68mpg and it never really drops below 52mpg. I’m no slouch in the twisties either, it just suits my riding style. The handling and agility is quality, though it rides more like a supermoto than a race bike and you can really feel that from the live front end (this just takes time to get used to, it’s definitely not for everyone). I absolutely believe though, that this could be your daily commuter if you wanted it to be. It’s just not for a novice. Like you said, learn how to modulate those tiny throttle inputs and it’s easy to ride at town speeds. It’s a bike to be enjoyed by someone who gets board easily and has ridden big capacity bikes before. If you want the best in terms of fun and exhilaration on the road, look no further than this or the gen 3.

Is the gen2 190 rear I have the gen 3 unfortunately it’s a 200 rear means sports tyres only . Think a 190 will fit on the rim .
Good review just enjoy. It . Don’t worry about mileage long as it’s good service history . Common problems usually picked up put right in the fist year .

I believe you can fit a 190 on the however the speedo maybe be a little off. Absolutely awesome bikes probably worth the problems

@@HudRodAutomotive I think the speedo comes from the front wheel abs sense . As I want to lower the gearing 1 tooth smaller front sprocket , as the gearing is very tall always looking for something between 2-3 and 6th hardly used , unless going over 75mpg . Not sure how it compares to gen 2 gearing .
