Best car for daily drive
try the v8 m113 you be crying in joy
After 4 years ownership, it's not a town bike. To snappy on off on the throttle. It a bit hard on the rear in city riding. As soon as you start to get above 80kph it all smooths out. Quality build with many features I like.
I have an E89 30iSDrive. The 0-60 mph is 5.6 secs, 33 mpg (mixed driving) fuel consumption, 254 BHP -- according to Parkers, which is pretty much what I have experienced during my ownership. The sound of the 6 cylinder (non turbo) N52 engine is addictive! The steering is actually not bad at all, considering it's not a hydraulic system. I absolutely love the car! The only downside is the boot size with the roof down but it's a timeless design and the interior is a lot better than the MK1 Z4's. I've driven both the MK1 (30Si) and the MK2 (30iSdrive) and in terms of driving enjoyment, perhaps the MK1 has the edge (marginally, in my view) but they're both great cars.
Nice one. But, it's not M package
Finally an informative video, not one of those silly drag race videos. Thanks again guys
Thanks alot for this video guys. That was truly helpful for me.
I daily mine, and it never gets old its an awesome car. Mine also has Cruise Control which is a great upside
My ambition
You are so spoiled
Did the problem get sorted please help
Keeling Drive
Those things, brakes discs fork seals chain sprockets all consumables. Bung a bit of lube down the clutch cable, like new.
Looks great 👍🏾
Interesting comments in your video from both of you. Britain doesn't realize how lucky it is to have these knocked down values of 2nd hand cars. Come to Europe where the left hand drive vehicle is much more saleable in so many more countries and you'd realize what a bargain this excellent car is.
Haha, I have exactly the same orange model from 2012. Thanks for reviewing it! Thinking about switching to a newer dull Versys 650 of 2022+ probbly
F10 looks just like E90, hiw doesn't anyone ever mention that. It's a carbon copy
Nice car, have the same color same interior and wheels 520xd :))
In my country are asking from 15-19k dollars.😢
Another trash right-side drive version car review that brits saturate youtube with. If only TH-cam can sort this 💩 out. Countries who drive on the correct side of the road (right) on the correct side of the car (left) dont need to have these brit oddity cars show up on their search result.
I LOVE MY CB650F ALL GOOD
I got an offer for 15k euros for a 2008 BMW 520i E60 (N43 engine) with 68k miles on it. Do you think is a good opportunity to jump into one of these? I really like the presence of it and the prestige that it gives to the driver.
Stiff clutch due to high mileage? Not really check the cable is lubed and release bearing, 48k is high mileage on a sports touring 650, debatable. Break rotas needed replacing, not in 48k miles unless its been ran with worn pads. Fork seals, meh comes with the territory. Over fueling due to millage? Really 😂. Its a bit dull, yeah its a sport touring. New swing arm because of damaged threads, easy fix. Replace chain and sprocket, yeah its a consumable part, but helps if you lube it which it looks you don't very often. I think the problem here is that you have a combination of millage anxiety and bad maintenance habits. I ride everyday in all weather and its all about how you maintain it. If you dont want to maintain anything then stick with a car, as bikes are not cars.
Do you not think the issues you came across are more down to the last owner not looking after it and also yourself not checking it out correctly? The same thing can happen with cars and are easier to hide !
M54 3.0 231 bhp. 221 lb.ft. 24mpg 0-60 mph 7.1 seconds
I have the exact same model and year and you are so wrong! If the clutch is heavy, try oiling the cable! All other issues are wear and tear on a bike that is over 13 years old and by the sounds of it not well maintained! Had mine 3 years and wont part with it!
Why take everything off for 2/3 hours of labour 😂
To loosen tensioner you get a size fits that bolt and long pole over the ratchet you going to use 😂
You lot are not professional I’ve did it with a hex bit that’s fits 6 or 8mm and a small 8mm spanner to loosen the power steering bolts 😂
Failure, I bought a 2007 Versys, I had more powerful bikes. However, I do not lack Power because the reaction to gas is immediate. It rides like a supermoto. I quickly learned to lift the wheel and do a stoppie. Versys may seem inconspicuous, but it's a lot of fun.
Hey, I absolutely agree with you on the e46. I was never a bmw guy, had mercedes Audis vw's from that era but fell in love with the e46 330xd touring 6 speed manual from a friend. bought it and now daily driving it in Germany. Euro 3 sucks but I love the car for what it cost me haha
I have the f30 330d, and have spent a bit of time in the g20 also. Neither one comes close to capturing the magic of the e46.
Where did you buy windshield ?
I want one. Finding for sensible money is getting trickier.
In Germany 🇩🇪 they do 400,000miles or even 800,000 miles bulletproof cars of that era not like nowadays where they make them to break them
I have it for 2 years now and I don’t recommend it. It’s not a city bike not adventure extremely heavy and headache maker , I hate it
I have the same bike, same colour with 19000 miles and it goes very well.
I have a 2012 and love it. It is my third bike and I ride about 1000Km per weekend. The engine is kind of split in its personality - below 5K rpm and above 5.2K rpms. The lower end is a great every day ride. The higher end has an aggressive growl. That middle rpm space is a bit vibe, so you have to choose whether you want to cruise or fly. Great fun. I also put Awake Adventure tires on there, so can enjoy gravel paths as well as highway. Thanks for the video. Ride safely and enjoy!
There's drain holes in the swingarm btw they get blocked easy
Ive got a 2013 versys650 runs perfect has 60k km on the clock
Can you by any chance link me that radio if you still know where you bought it?
How is the steering feel on these cars. I’m afraid of getting one because I love the feeling of the hydraulic steering racks like in my e90. I’ve tried F series bmw’s and the steering is so numb and just not engaging for me.
I would Expect a well Looked after Versys to get to 50,000 Miles No Problem then Put another 50,000 Miles on the Clock The Swingarm thread Could have been Repaired with an Insert What you don't Mention with PCP is You are Locked into Dealer Services & Annual Low Milage agreement So you Might not be able to use it as an Every Day Bike Saw a Utube Video the Other Day About a KTM Bike the Cams were F*#$ed at 16,000
Great video. i think it all depends on how much you are riding. I do about 15K miles a year riding to and from work. You can't even get a bike on the PHC over 8K a year. For me I like to buy old bikes, that have been looked after, around 25K miles on the clock maybe more. I'd be looking for service history valve clearance done, bearings etc. all the other bits like tyres, chain, sprockets, brake pads etc are in my view consumables that need changing all the time anyway. I try doing these jobs myself as much as I can to keep costs down. I have two bikes for this reason. In case I need a little longer to do the maintenance over a couple of days I can still ride the other bike. I have a Honda CB500 X (2017) 80K miles on it (never had any issues besides a failing water pump at 55K and I decided to upgrade the shock and replace the oil in the forks - that was a game changer in terms of handling) and I have a Kawasaki Z1000SX (2012) 23K miles on it (my good weather bike :-)). In conclusion: I think it's worth looking at high milage bikes if they have been looked after. If you ride a lot then doing your own maintenance is a must. If you do short trips yes, I agree, a good deal on a new bike is another avenue to consider
The fact that you worked on the internals and filled oil while the charger and your hands were full of dirt honestly makes you a backyard mechanic. Clean the damn thing properly before you open it up and and clean your hards from the dirt and grime.
Within a very short week I'll be the owner of an F800R from 2018. After an hiatus of 41 year not riding, when corona appeared, I first bought a Honda CBF600SA, nothing to complain about, but with a fairing and instruments embedded within the fairing, I got the feeling, I'm riding a car on 2 wheels, so, the Honda was sold, and few months later I ran into an old love from the 70ties, a nice looking Suzuki GS750 (the 3r bike I had in those days, owned it for 4 years). I could do a lot myself on that Suzuki, rode it for 2 years, (and a LOT of attention from bystanders), but as you know, those old bikes are HEAVY (492lbs dry weight), so I started looking for a lighter machine, and bumped into this F800R which has a dry weight of 390lbs, now, THAT's some difference compared to the Suzuki, I could not find a similar bike with that much hp and the low weight, I could put it on its center-stand with 2 fingers..Only thing, the bike is all black, so that'll have to be altered, the white and blue bmw colors will be spray painted on...
Very interesting review. I love the logical thoughts behind
I think he missed the point of owning a high mileage bike or older bike for that matter. You did not have to put new rotors on it and the swing are problem with the stripped bolt is rare and it did not need to be replaced, you could have put and insert (Helicoil) in it and made it better than new for 10 dollars. The bike is a first gen and it's going to have vibs. Chains and sprockets are a wear item so you will have that no matter what sooner or later.
I like both
Good design is about the integration of ALL the parts. So that the Whole Thing is greater than the sum of its parts. McCallum is a superb designer and has captured this principle brilliantly. ❤️❤️
