jimbotheassclown . Hey, Sparklestheintellectuallychallengedclown, you’ve apparently never heard of high school football stars. You know, the ones that had all of the most gorgeous co-eds, usually finished near the top of the class, often received full athletic college scholarships, and sometimes made it to the NFL, like my father (Raiders). They are also typically financially successful and socially and mentally competent, unlike far too many of the tragic, alcoholic, clowns 🤡 in society, sucking off of the government teat and just generally dragging the US further into the deepening quagmire of crime and sociopathy. Have a glorious day, and always remember, as a clown, that boxing the clown is a healthier thrill than chugging yet another bottle of Thunderbird.
LOL that's not what he said now is it sparky and if you wanna go there it would be his little high school i live very close to where he grew up and played nobody but his local school even remembers he played HS foot ball and the only reason the ones that do is because he made it big in acting .
With all the meta references in the collector's office, they seriously should have had Walt Disney's cryogenically frozen head as one of them. Wasted opportunity there. :D
I got to go on Mission Breakout 3 weeks after it opened. I have a friend who works at Disneyland, she helped me skip the line and go on it 3 times that day while the line up was still over 3 hours long. The next day, I met Dave Bautista at the Starbucks counter i in a random grocery store in Culver City. That was quite a trip to California.
Awesome!!! I had a Fast Pass when I went (one week after Thanksgiving in 2017), so I got on quickly, but we only went on once because there were so many other things we wanted to do and see.
I also got to skip the 2 hour line due to a disabled family member and felt a bit cheated out of the experience from being rushed right past everyone and into our seats. Waiting in line is a large part of the Disney experience.
Joe Rhode is basically known for his ear lmao. When he was designing Animal Kingdom, he had shit hanging down past his shoulder and his lobe was super stretched lol
Who, Joe Rohde? Heheh. You must be new around the Disney scene. Trust me, the feeling never wears off. You just sort of learn to accept it, and with each new interview of him you sigh and say "oh Joe, who made you think that was a good idea?" Then you look at all of the cool stuff he has designed as you say "Joe, you're a genius!"
I feel like losing ToT in DCA was a huge loss for the park as it managed to fit SO well thematically. Taking the Red Car Trolley down Buena Vista Street, stopping at the Hollywood Tower Hotel, made much more sense - especially in a park based around California itself. I also preferred the ride's feeling of suspense, tension and it's use of practical effects over what we got in the retheming.
So the thing that people didnt realize at the time was that disney lost the rights to twilight zone name. What happened was at the time fox (wasn't owned by disney at the time) bought the rights back and then sent disney a ceise and desist for the name twilight zone. They made an agreement I think just to change one of them to a different ride which was guardians of galaxy mission breakout.
Well they are pretty much doing an overhaul of the enitire park...getting rid of anything that has to do with California specifically and focusing on francises like Marvel or Pixar.
Sky The Terrible they will never close florida’s TOT. it is the only TOT like it. the others; california, paris, and tokyo are all the same ride system. florida is the only version to move forward when it becomes trackless. and as of now, TOT is the main logo for hollywood studios so they would have to rebrand the merch.
I have to admit, I was one of the ones that was skeptical about the change to Mission Breakout, but ended up loving it more than the Tower it replaced. That being said they better not change the original in WDW except to plus it up a bit!!
I just noticed that the scenes in the ride adjust their perspective along to the mild movement of the elevator. That's a really cool way to create a sense of depth without 3D glasses.
I’ve rode it more times than the California Tower of Terror. I mean I loved the old Tower of Terror but over time it started to get old and it’s the same ride, just like the original Star Tours was the same ride and with the new Star Tours there’s more destinations. And with Mission Breakout there’s more drops and different versions every time you ride it
I appreciate the ride itself, and I did admire the Twilight Zone theme. I'm just not into Guardians of the Galaxy. And to be quite honest, I haven't renewed my annual pass since the change to Mission Break Out.
Although the ride has a different theme, this ride is actually better than the original. The original tower of tower felt soulless compared to the one in Walt Disney World, and this theme is much better for what is it, not to mention it’s much smoother.
I was a Cast Member during the announcement, construction and opening of this ride. Before it opened i was SO against it, i would go as far as to say i was probably the #1 person to hate the idea more than anyone else.. But when we got to have cast previews, i was so blown away and so floored that my first facebook post was "I no longer miss Hollywood Tower of Terror". This ride was just THAT good. I love it so much! Also i got to shake hands with Joe Earrings at the premier :D
I do think that mission break fits within California Adventure because of the expansion for the Marvel land, however, when it comes to Epcot I feel like that's the Disney is not fully grasping the opportunities to teach people about future technology and world culture by basically turning the theme park into Magic Kingdom. I know some people have different thoughts about it and I do respect that, but for me personally I feel little bit sad about the neglection of Epcot. Maybe the Guardian's right there will be fun too.
Even if it was in Epcot or Tomorrowland, it would still stick out like a sore thumb, even with a less bronze color coating. I just see Tower but with space sci-fi slathered all over it
I'm thinking they'll gradually retheme the park around it. Imagine if California got a land based on cosmic Marvel (Guardians, Captain Marvel, Thor, etc) while Orlando got something more focused on New York (SHIELD, Avengers, etc.)
Young Grover they can’t. Universal owns the theme park rights to marvel because of superhero island. Guardians isn’t included in that but they wouldn’t do two rides in two different parks in one resort.
EbberDeeMills considering buzz opened in 1998 before the 2nd movie came out, and no one expected it to be a franchise that we have now, I think we’re gonna be ok
They just might, there’s a rumor that rockin roller coaster is being re themed as the iron man ride from France so it would be inevitable if they expand sunset boulevard and retheme the whole are into their obscure version much of marvel land
EbberDeeMills guardians WILL be in orlando its just, it will take years, becoz their making it high tech and cool. It wont be rushed like in California.
I can't speak for the California version, since I've never been to DCA, but, maybe it's just my paranoia and the fact that Orlando Tower of Terror is my favorite DisneyWorld ride, but the retheming of the DCA version, coupled with the retheming of Hollywood Studios as a whole has me very worried they'll take away the Twilight Zone theme. Part of the reason that the Tower of Terror is so popular IS the theme. Yes, it's too intense for some kids, but it's also too intense for some adults, not everybody can handle the same things. Most of the kids I've see on ToT love the props and scenery, and I think people do forget that a lot of kids like scary things or being scared. I was fairly young when I went to DisneyWorld for the first time, and honestly I was more scared of Rock n' Rollercoaster going upside-down than the entirety of Tower of Terror because I loved the spooky theming (and I was one of those kids that actually watched the Twilight Zone reruns so bias) ... basically an overly long version of "please Disney don't change Tower of Terror I'll cry"
If they do change ToT in Orlando it won’t be themed to guardians, (since they’ll have a coaster in Epcot) but instead be themed to an original idea similar to the original, but just not under the Twilight Zone name. RobPlays has a whole video on the topic if you’re interested
If you had been to DCA to experience the CA version of the ToT, then you would know the Florida version, which is the original version, is far superior to the cheap CA version. They went cheap with the CA version as they said it was originally slated for Paris, but quickly moved the project to CA to save the failing park, and cut costs to do it quickly. The CA version had only a few bits of Twilight Zone for the storyline, and the ride never moved sideways along the floor before entering the lift shaft. The CA version only had one ride routine, it was the same every single time, and it was quite short. The re-theming to Guardians corrected most of the issues. The lift system was completely replaced so now it has 6 different ride routines and it is a longer ride than ToT. During Halloween, we get a totally new experience with a new storyline, new line queue experience, and new visuals on the exterior thanks to HD projectors. The 4K video sequences are so realistic, it looks like they are right in front of you for real. I was upset about the loss of ToT, but after riding Guardians and seeing how much effort and detail went into the new ride, I like it much more than ToT. The people commenting claiming to hate it, obviously have never been on it.
honestly the orlando ride was better than the cali ride, just sucks that California Adventure is eventually gonna change into a park with a different title.
i was one of the kids that grew up watching the twilight zones because my dad loves them. we love finding all the hidden references to the show like the dummy when you exit the drop shaft, or the space invader in the library. floridas’ is themed perfect to HS and its entire area of the park as well. as someone stated above, it was the original system created. they wont change it unless it is absolutely necessary. and it is the current logo for HS anyways after the Earful Tower got demolished then the Sorcerer Mickey Hat got taken down a few years back.
Fun story about Tower of Terror: I have lived in Los Angeles my whole life. I was about 4 years old when Tower of Terror was completed, so I never really saw any commercials advertising it. However, a couple of years later, the 50th anniversary commercials started airing, and I remember one of the highlights of them was Mickey, Donald, and Goofy going on the "Hollywood" Tower of Terror. Now, my grandmother lived in Hollywood at the time and we would go there about once a week. To get to her house from ours, we had to take the 101 freeway. Well, what happens to be right up against the freeway than the actual Hollywood Tower apartments (yeah, the actual Hollywood Tower is apartments, not a hotel, in case you were wondering - and aside from the color scheme, looks absolutely nothing like any of the towers that Disney has built). So of course, for a while, 5-year-old me was terrified of visiting grandma because I was afraid the tower was going to get me. Of course, I learned later that I didn't need to be scared of the tower, just the awful park it was placed in at the time (I love DCA now though). So, with the story above, it should come as no surprise that I never rode the Tower of Terror. It's actually not that big of a deal, because even though I live in Los Angeles and have been to Disneyland so many times, I only ever went to Disney California Adventure twice before Tower of Terror was gone. I guess that park hopper tickets were so expensive, and the thought of spending the whole day at DCA just wasn't worth it, is the reason why we mainly stuck to the magic kingdom. For that reason, I never felt anything when Tower of Terror closed, because it wasn't an attraction that I can claim to have any good memories from. Besides that, I also just really didn't like drop rides. Of course, though, Guardians reared its head and I really didn't think I was ever going to ride it. However, it opened right before Grad Night of my own graduation year, so it was the talk of the town among everyone who was going, including all of my friends. So I mustered up the courage to ride Mission Breakout, and let me tell you, that was an amazing experience. As someone who has been closely following Disney history for a long time, I was so happy to see all the easter eggs scattered everywhere in the queue. I was answering all of my friends' questions about the things in the queue even though they never asked about them in the first place, I was admiring all of the detail that Imagineering put everywhere, I was stunned by the Rocket AA, and everything was great. As we got closer to the Gantry Lifts, my stomach was sinking to my feet and my heart was climbing through my throat, because I had no idea what to expect. Like I said, I had never ridden Tower of Terror, and I had heard from many Disney media outlets that Mission Breakout was even more intense. So, we got on the ride vehicles and I was pretty much expecting to have to be rolled out of the attraction by my friends because I would be in a fetal position on the floor. Keep in mind: at the time, I was a 6' tall, 300lb, 17-year-old DUDE. That would have been one helluva sight. But, of course, the ride exceeded all expectations and my pants remained dry. Attraction was spectacular. The music was pumping, the scenes were so perfectly clear and hillarious, everyone was having a great time. It almost felt like a party - on an elevator! I can't compare Guardians to ToT, because I never rode ToT. I can't say that it's better or worse. I will say that, from the videos I have seen of Tower of Terror, that I probably would not have liked it very much. That's not to say that it was bad or good, just that it most likely was not my attraction. With that said, although the exterior doesn't aesthetically fit in with the rest of Hollywoodland, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout is a success and an overall great change. I don't have as much of an issue with the outside of the building as most people do, because I've seen much worse things in the real Hollywood, plus I've sort of created my own storyline as to why the Tivan Collection should be there. I know people still yearn for the original attraction and I know that at some point, the area will change again, but if Disney California Adventure - the laughing stock of the Disney Parks for years - has taught us anything, it's that change, however minor or major it may be, is always a good thing... unless you're Soarin' Around the World.
@@emanuelrivera8048 Oh trust me, I did that pretty quickly. I'll be heading back to DCA when I go to D23. So, I'll be doing Soarin' over California at least one more time.
Floridian and World passholder here. I was outraged when I heard DCA was losing ToT. Finally got to make it over to Disneyland and DCA this last March and did Guardians...and just like you said, that ride ended and there was just a huge smile on my face. I hate drop rides but this one was just too damn fun. I think our ToT in HS is safe at least for a while
We used to go on the Tower of Terror over and over again because it was so fun. When they changed it to Guardians of the Galaxy, only going on it once made me feel sick, and I’ve never been motion sick. It’s just way too much all at once. Rest In Peace tower of terror😢
actual.lizard i actually wanna go on the guardians one, coz i'd have a heart attack if i go on tower of terror,. Becoz i have a fear of it. So i'd like the re theming of it. But i do feel bad for those who love it.
The ride is now finally what it was really supposed to be like...matching the Florida version of TOT, with random drop routines and a longer ride. The CA version of ToT was a cheap imitation of the Florida version with a single ride routine and a much shorter ride.
CaptainEIEIO That’s exactly it. There’s just so much “visual noise” now. It kinda hurts to ride it because all the lights and music make it overwhelming. To me, at least. I can’t speak for others.
@@actual.lizard7804 ^^ person up there is actually wrong. the ride has random ups and downs now with almost 5 times more "air Time" which actually can make you nauseous. original tower only had 1 "bounce". not discrediting you but that reply is wrong. its not "the same ride"
I think Mission Breakout is one of the greatest new attractions added to the Disney Parks of recent years. It may have replaced a beloved ride and people hated it because of that, but at least it was replaced by a ride that wasn’t a letdown. It’s fun and exciting and while completely different to ToT, it still has the same primary function. I love it. And I’m so happy Disney did it.
I really miss the TOT theming and vibe but Mission: Breakout really is an amazing ride. the screens are used wisely and the soundtrack is AMAZING. I hope the keep TOT in Orlando though
I rode Mission Breakout and must say it’s my favorite droptower that I’ve ridden thus far. I absolutely love this and wouldn’t be mad if Disney did this to Orlando
I am pretty sure the Monsters after dark overlay of Mission Breakout is for the Tower of Terror fans. The ride becomes a Halloween type of ride, it feels more dark in some sections, a sound effect in the end of the ride matches the one from Tower of Terror and the queue line adds that creep factor to Tower of Terror. One thing I would also like to say is....for the love of God Disney, you should not change Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios.
I've never been on Mission Breakout (UK-based), but I think the drama that closing ToT caused was due to the truly unique and genuinely scary nature of the ride. It's so far from much of what we're used to from Disney, and it had quite a cult following because of that. *Always* team ToT (it was my first 'big ride' as a kid), but Mission Breakout is an awesome reskin of a super fun ride system.
I don’t know if you know this or not, but there is a Easter egg of Yondu’s ghost in the security cameras in the preshow room, where rocket is looking groot
Having ridden both ToT and Mission Breakout, it’s just not the same. ToT really just gave such a unique feeling of suspense and now it just feels like a more grown up drop tower. I really hope they don’t have the same plans for Orlando, that would be a real tragedy.
Mission Breakout is an AMAZING update. Although I am glad my home park WDW will keep their ToT and still get its own GotG ride regardless. I can only hope that ride can compare to Mission Breakout
I visit Blackpool pleasure beach pretty much every year to ride all the wooden coasters. Id love to see an episode on them or even just the Grand National.
I remember going to California Adventure in 2001 - while not overwhelmingly crowded like Disneyland across the way - it was still very busy. Over the years as we visited it did get more crowded. Will miss Bug's Land though.
Wife & went out to California for the Star Wars opening. She rode this 3 times, I rode it twice. Best ride in California, and we agreed on this as Tower of Terror purists. SO FUN. Emphasis on the fun aspect. All of our ride experiences were different.
I absolutely loved the transformation! They were planning to get rid of the area in the coming years to bring marvel land to life and this was the staple. I loved twilight zone tower of terror but the upgraded it while successfully getting everyone ready for marvel land P. S. You are officially my favorite for doing a full episode on this ride two thumbs up for you sir!!!
being a fan of both version imo I prefer the guardians version for like it does not feel predictable where as the tower of terror version it always goes by this grid and I love the different scenarios they have to make riding it more than once a treat each time and I like that whole idea that with the different song you can it affects the behavior over the ride and it gets into the spirit of the movie cause like james gunn said that the music plays a critical role in both guardians films its really cool that they also incorporate it to this particular version of the ride sure it was sad to see tower of terror go but if disney keeps doing updates like this and still make it very enjoyable to all audiences and still having that sense of adventure and fantasy I think it really is what all the parks achieve in the end and honestly guardians to this day is like my #1 favorite ride I always want to make time to go on it at least once and am looking forward to the coming marvel land in DCA!
I never personally rode the Tower of Terror in California, but I had ridden the Florida one a few times before. Visiting DCA for the first time I wasn't sure what to expect with Mission Breakout, as I'm not a massive Guardians of the Galaxy fan. I left the park with 3 rides on it (the only ride I did more than once with 5 days at Disneyland) and it became my current favourite ride at Disneyland Resort and perhaps my favourite Theme Park ride ever.
Tower of terror was my favorite ride. I loved the theming and spookiness of it. I was upset about Guardians taking over, but I gave it a chance. Turns out I cannot ride it, idk if it's the lighting or intense drops, but it makes me so sick with a migraine that I can't do it. I miss tower :(
I am the same way!! I loved tower of terror since I was a kid and the drops were actually reasonably fun😂 the drops on guardians is so nauseatingly painful and a lot more bouncier!
I'm definitely not the biggest Tower of Terror fan - it had me terrified of elevators as a youth - but I'm actually interested in this one once I saw the stuff about it in the imagineering story (Joe Rohde is a living legend, can't believe he retired/quit to avoid getting laid off, Disney is penny wise pound foolish).
That looks so awesome, I love GOTG (as you can see by my name) and I'm glad there is a ride existing out there that's based around that theme and is mostly about my favorite character of all time in any movie. (Wouldn't of rode tower of terror, but would definitely ride this)
I have a picture of me in 2007 with the unfinished in production Paris version in the background. I was with Emile the rat. He was doing a meet and greet there. Thinking back on it, it was a pretty strange area for the rats to do a meet up
So glad that Florida's Tower of Terror isn't closing and I hope they keep it that way. I just love the dark atmosphere of the ride and how different it is every time you go on it and as for the ride coming to Epcot Im definetely excited for it considering it's gonna be not only Epcot's first roller coaster (unless you count Test Track) but it's gonna be one of the longest indoor coasters. 2021 will be the opening date!
Despite all the retheming you can still kinda see the Hollywood Tower Hotel’s Pueblo Deco look shining through. Especially if you look at it from either Avengers Campus or the nearby roads outside the park.
Yes, I have to agree. I was pleasantly surprised with Mission Breakout. I went on with little expectations other than thinking I’d hate it, and came off smiling from ear to ear! You cannot ride Mission Breakout and not not have a great experience! It almost can’t be compared to TOT anymore, as the overall ride experience is totally different! It’s amazing how something as simple as a “ride retheme” now offers a completely different attraction.
I think keeping the history of the tower of terror in orlanda alive is what they should do. Having two different ride experiences in two different parks makes me want to visit both more rather than having the same ride at both (regardless of the slight difference between a pre programmed drop sequence or a randomised one)
Totally agree with you on this. 1st of all I was a fan of tower of terror but honestly it was always a sub par knock off of the Orlando version. 2ndly this attraction is dead on for the spirit and the style of the movies 3rd many people are saying it’s out of place thematically, but since the entire are is becoming a “marvel land” it won’t be for long.
I didn’t realize monsters after dark was a Halloween thing! I was there last October and rode for the first time ever during the day. Tot is my all time favorite ride so I was...bitter to say the least. However, I was PLEASANTLY surprised. I loved it. We decided to ride again at night because the wait was short and I was surprised once again by the different, night time experience. Such an amazing surprise.
I have never been on the ride, but I personally think it looks great, besides if you want to ride the original head to Orlando it’s still not changed (not like it will)
I got to go on the Tower once before it changed. It's the only reason I ever went to California Adventure. It was like going into a creepy as haunted hotel. Is was great.
and you are wrong, this is a better experience, most kids have no idea what the Twilight Zone is, THAT was an issue when the original ride opened. Old property that wasn't relevant at the time. I guess if they updated it to have Peele like the CBS All Access show......
Cool story bro. You could’ve blogged it somewhere else preferably with someone who was looking for a fight. This was just my opinion. I work at Disneyland and I’ve ridden both “versions” of the ride. I just happened to like the original.
@@BLasherman I ask you this: is there any kid who knows Song of the South nowadays? Sure, the song Zip-a-dee-doo-dah is well known but the movie...I don't think so. And yet, Splash Mountain is still one of the most popular rides in all the disney parks. If the ride is excellent, nobody cares about if it's IP-based or not, and IMHO that's not the case with "Guardians of the Galaxy : Mission Breakout".
The tower fit so perfectly with the new buena vista street and old Hollywood theme. For a short while the theming of DCA was so immersive and cohesive. Guardians may be thrilling but it doesn’t have the detail and story and feel the tower did. If something is so perfect it doesn’t need to be changed
I was part of the outraged mass of people that completely changed once I rode it. I still with Disneyland had enough room to keep both. Each one had their own amazing atmosphere and theme so it really sucks that we had to lose such a historical iconic ride. At least it was replaced by something worth riding 🤷♀️
The original Tower of Terror at DCA will always have a special place in the hearts of many (including myself). Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout is actually a really great ride! I know many people complain about the new theme of the ride but the ride itself is far more interactive and immersive than the Tower of Terror. Not to mention with the expansion of Marvel Land coming soon it made sense to segway it into the park.
DCA one is a slightly weird shape, but overall both TOT facades are (were) beautiful. Fantastically capture their theming and are incredibly intimidating as a kid.
My husband and I rode Guardians of the Galaxy in November 2017, so it was fairly new. We loved it - we screamed and laughed at the same time (is that possible?). My husband said at the time that it was better than California's Tower of Terror. I had never been on that version of Tower of Terror (when I went in December 2016, we only went to Disneyland since it was the day after Christmas, and my sister-in-law and her husband wanted me to see the original park). My husband had never been on Florida's version of Tower of Terror, or to Disney World. When we went to Disney World last year (his first visit), he said the Florida version was far superior to California's version, and we hope that it doesn't change. That said, I would love a separate Guardians ride in Florida. I'm hoping to get back to California at some point (my in-laws all live there), so we can get to Disneyland again!
I miss the old tower because I didn't get to appreciate it as much (I was like 11 and still a little scared). But I mission breakout has become one of my favorites
GoTG worked well as a change for the California ToT and it looks great, however I stand by that if they ever change Disney World’s.....I’ll throw hands.
California Adventure did a complete turnaround eh? cause I prefer that park now than Disneyland. I think a lot of that decision was for the rollercoaster, Soarin, Radiator Springs Racer and World of Color.
i only every rode in as mission breakout and i loved the theming, but i didnt initially like a drop tower. but, now ive rode a taller-ish one, and i dont mind
My husband and I went to Disneyland for the first time last year. He had no idea what the Mission Breakout was and it was hilarious and sad to see his disappointment that it was just a reskin of the tower of terror. He was less then impressed.
If they ever do touch the Orlando ToT (which of course I hope they don't) I think it'd be an intriguing idea to see the retheme use a Doctor Strange makeover. Like imagine the building getting redone to look like the Sanctum Santorum and then the premise of the ride could maybe see Doctor Strange battling an enemy from the comic books, while the "dropping" would be caused by "portals" opening up underneath you as Doctor Strange tries to save you. Each "room" the elevator would drop in could be redesigned with projection mapping to look like different "dimensions" and you could get different combinations of "dimensions" on each ride through due to the fact that the projection mapping could do all the theme work (think the beginning of the Indiana Jones attraction and it's different "combinations" in Anaheim). Like, lord I hope they don't re-do the Twilight Zone theming in WDW because I am a huge fan of the show, but if they ever did, the Doctor Strange theme could provide a similar "oh wait that actually was pretty cool" feeling that GotG did for California Adventure
Good lord, does all that metal stretching his ear lobe out hurt Joe Rhode? I read that Vin Diesel did not return as Groot. One thing that wasn't mentioned is that Mission: BREAKOUT is the first entry in the Marvel Theme Park Universe.
Honestly, losing Tower Of Tower is a crime, even if the Orlando one is better. Hands down my all time favorite ride, and absolutely shows that theme-ing goes very long way.
Chris Pratt must be making bank since he’s at universal studios and Disneyland 💀😂
The BG Experience Don’t forget Zoe Saldana. This ride opened the same day as Pandora in Florida. She’s getting paid too $$$
LOL in what Clown World does playing High school football make someone a football star ?🤣😂😅
jimbotheassclown .

I also preferred the ride's feeling of suspense, tension and it's use of practical effects over what we got in the retheming.
Well, it’s being rethemed as we speak(The Red Trolley has been removed). Expect a named changed in the near future.
@@Emplordxiii The Red Car Trolley isn't gone forever. It's being refurbished. Hollywoodland isn't going anywhere.
@@RikkiSan1 You can blame Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek for that.
Keep the Florida one Tower of Terror, and have Mission Breakout stay in California.
Sky The Terrible I’m pretty sure that’s what they’re going to do
They actually are :) instead, the Guardians are getting a rollercoaster in Florida
Evan Bagwell yay 🎉
you dont know what your missing... mission breakout is INCREDIBLY fun, and offers a unique rock n roll twist to the ride.

I've NEVER been this early for a Expedition Theme Park video
I just noticed that the scenes in the ride adjust their perspective along to the mild movement of the elevator. That's a really cool way to create a sense of depth without 3D glasses.
I totally thought it was going to be awful, Then I rode it. Amazing ride
I’ve rode it more times than the California Tower of Terror. I mean I loved the old Tower of Terror but over time it started to get old and it’s the same ride, just like the original Star Tours was the same ride and with the new Star Tours there’s more destinations. And with Mission Breakout there’s more drops and different versions every time you ride it
Right ??? I wanted to hate it soooo bad!!! It was amazing! Way more intense then the old ride
I appreciate the ride itself, and I did admire the Twilight Zone theme. I'm just not into Guardians of the Galaxy. And to be quite honest, I haven't renewed my annual pass since the change to Mission Break Out.
Louie S you got rid of all entry to two theme parks because of one ride? Can’t relate.
Yeah that seems a little dramatic
Lol you’re missing out. Bad move.
Are you that salty?
That Rocket animatronic is amazing!
Yeah they knocked that one out of the park, I love when he swipes the artifact out of the office 😂
I 100% agree, EPCOT was supposed to be for education but now it's a new Magic
I think you may have been a bit racist with that Jew comment.
I enjoy the ride but the outside looks horrible
Even if it was in Epcot or Tomorrowland, it would still stick out like a sore thumb, even with a less bronze color coating. I just see Tower but with space sci-fi slathered all over it
It looks awful as you walk/drive up to the resort.
I love the ride but you’re right, the outside is ugly
+zombiekiller2112 Exactly how I feel about it.
I'm thinking they'll gradually retheme the park around it. Imagine if California got a land based on cosmic Marvel (Guardians, Captain Marvel, Thor, etc) while Orlando got something more focused on New York (SHIELD, Avengers, etc.)
If they do that to the one in Orlando I will literally die.
Young Grover they can’t. Universal owns the theme park rights to marvel because of superhero island. Guardians isn’t included in that but they wouldn’t do two rides in two different parks in one resort.
@@JordynMcCray oh thank GOD
I was fairly young when I went to DisneyWorld for the first time, and honestly I was more scared of Rock n' Rollercoaster going upside-down than the entirety of Tower of Terror because I loved the spooky theming (and I was one of those kids that actually watched the Twilight Zone reruns so bias)
... basically an overly long version of "please Disney don't change Tower of Terror I'll cry"
I couldn’t agree more
If they do change ToT in Orlando it won’t be themed to guardians, (since they’ll have a coaster in Epcot) but instead be themed to an original idea similar to the original, but just not under the Twilight Zone name.
Mike S take advantage and ride soarin over California while is still available until the end of the month!
But i do feel bad for those who love it.
actual.lizard I thought i was the only one with that problem!
Expedition DCA!! The Grizzly peak is a very interesting (and fun) corner of the park!
I rode Mission Breakout and must say it’s my favorite droptower that I’ve ridden thus far. I absolutely love this and wouldn’t be mad if Disney did this to Orlando
I love how casually it was implied that closing Superstar Limo encouraged more people to come
Mission Breakout is much better than the CA version of Twilight Zone. But DO NOT TOUCH THE WDW VERSION.
They won't...Epcot has a Guardians ride.
Your channel is so underrated! It should at least have twice as many subscribers judging by the quality of the videos!
Thank you
The new ride is actually so good and creative though
Universal fans: Screens are bad
Disney fans: They are good
Bobpo2016 because Disney uses them wisely
I still think screens are bad. The entire spider man ride they are gonna open at DCA is screens go back to the old school
Blake Evans there will be use of the stunt animatronics for sure, look em up, they are pretty cool
Plot twist: You are a Disney and a Universal fan.
@@gabetimefilms Disappointed that the stunt animatronic is only used for the meet-and-greet and not for any of the rides
Imagine not using hooked on a feeling or Mr. Blue sky
Mr blue sky would of been perfect
I love your videos sooooo much! Thanks for all you do.
Although I miss the Tower of Terror, Mission breakout is waaaayyy more hype!
Agree
The ending literally had me laughing out loud with Yondus arrow. It might be a cool ride but don’t mess with the original please.
Yay
Having ridden both ToT and Mission Breakout, it’s just not the same. ToT really just gave such a unique feeling of suspense and now it just feels like a more grown up drop tower. I really hope they don’t have the same plans for Orlando, that would be a real tragedy.
They don't....
Clay3613 I’m aware that they don’t currently have plans for this. It’s a rhetorical statement.
Mission Breakout is an AMAZING update. Although I am glad my home park WDW will keep their ToT and still get its own GotG ride regardless. I can only hope that ride can compare to Mission Breakout
Yes my disney still has tot
I visit Blackpool pleasure beach pretty much every year to ride all the wooden coasters. Id love to see an episode on them or even just the Grand National.
That dude's "earing" will give you nightmares.
I remember going to California Adventure in 2001 - while not overwhelmingly crowded like Disneyland across the way - it was still very busy. Over the years as we visited it did get more crowded. Will miss Bug's Land though.
This ride was fun. The parts where you bob up and down watching whatever the GOTG are doing is fun.
Wife & went out to California for the Star Wars opening. She rode this 3 times, I rode it twice. Best ride in California, and we agreed on this as Tower of Terror purists. SO FUN. Emphasis on the fun aspect. All of our ride experiences were different.
I’m glad you made this video.... this looks A LOT better than it sounds. I want to ride it now!
I absolutely loved the transformation! They were planning to get rid of the area in the coming years to bring marvel land to life and this was the staple. I loved twilight zone tower of terror but the upgraded it while successfully getting everyone ready for marvel land
P. S. You are officially my favorite for doing a full episode on this ride two thumbs up for you sir!!!
13:52 this is definitely the most clever of all the scenarios, i hope i get it on my next ride!
being a fan of both version imo I prefer the guardians version for like it does not feel predictable where as the tower of terror version it always goes by this grid and I love the different scenarios they have to make riding it more than once a treat each time and I like that whole idea that with the different song you can it affects the behavior over the ride and it gets into the spirit of the movie cause like james gunn said that the music plays a critical role in both guardians films its really cool that they also incorporate it to this particular version of the ride sure it was sad to see tower of terror go but if disney keeps doing updates like this and still make it very enjoyable to all audiences and still having that sense of adventure and fantasy I think it really is what all the parks achieve in the end and honestly guardians to this day is like my #1 favorite ride I always want to make time to go on it at least once and am looking forward to the coming marvel land in DCA!
I was the same
God I love this ride! The exterior took some getting used to, but it looks amazing at night.
and it looks even better during Halloween!
Another great video as usual and yes a video about California Adventure itself would be something I would love to see!
Managed to ride this in June 2017 and it was fantastic, yes please do an expedition on California Adventure !
It is so fun!
An ICONIC quote " SCREW YOU DISNEY IF YOU TOUCH WALT DISNEY WORLD'S TOWER I WILL REVOLT!" lmao
Thinking back on it, it was a pretty strange area for the rats to do a meet up
I’m a local, so I’ve been on both version many many times...I Loved the old version of Tower of Terror, but Mission :Breakout is freaking AWESOME!
Please definitely do a California adventure expedition! Great video as always
Mission Breakout is so fun I have good memories of that ride it was so nice riding it after watching vol. 2!!!
2ndly this attraction is dead on for the spirit and the style of the movies
3rd many people are saying it’s out of place thematically, but since the entire are is becoming a “marvel land” it won’t be for long.
This ride is so much fun, I rode it multiple times, loved the queue line and the ride itself was one of my favourites at Disney California.
I liked Tower of Terror but I freaking LOVE Guardians Break Out! So much more exciting!
Tower of terror is my all time favourite but you can’t fight progress
This looks good
Great work as usual. great way to wake up on a lazy Sunday morning
The actual ride is always fun. Hate that they changed it though. Bring back the tower!
I have never been on the ride, but I personally think it looks great, besides if you want to ride the original head to Orlando it’s still not changed (not like it will)
Agreed
8:37 The Terror of Joe Rohde's Earlobe.
We need Alton Towers Galactica story videoooo
I got to go on the Tower once before it changed. It's the only reason I ever went to California Adventure. It was like going into a creepy as haunted hotel. Is was great.
This ride is amazing. I rode it three times when I went to DCA last December. My favorite is when they play Jackson 5.
I still prefer Tower of Terror to its “replacement”.
and you are wrong, this is a better experience, most kids have no idea what the Twilight Zone is, THAT was an issue when the original ride opened.
Ben Lasher how is someone wrong for an opinion?
@@BLasherman You're a douche. No one is "wrong" for stating their preference. Just shut up.
Save the Tower
Yes please to a full California Adventure expedition!

I just realized I have not been in this ride yet!!! I loved tower of terror but really like the idea of this too!
First video i saw on your channel, love your intro👌🏼
GoTG worked well as a change for the California ToT and it looks great, however I stand by that if they ever change Disney World’s.....I’ll throw hands.
To your question, what doesn’t make ToT fun? It’s an absolute pleasure to this day.
What sucks is that this is an awesome ride, but it took the place of a legendary one
I will take a video on anything you put up. Great video
My husband and I went to Disneyland for the first time last year. He had no idea what the Mission Breakout was and it was hilarious and sad to see his disappointment that it was just a reskin of the tower of terror. He was less then impressed.
Amazing video ;)
