    Beautiful job on those 3 drills. Mr. Pete should be proud!! He may have more subs but it was you who got me interested in restoring old tools. Best hobby I've ever had. Your videos are always fun and informative so it's no surprise that other channels mention you.
    Blue paint went on the clamp just a little while ago. Coming down to the final stretch. Can't wait to see everyone's entry. I imagine the competition will be tough as folks will have pride showing their country's colors.

    At almost 60, @mrpete222 is my shop teacher - the one I wished for because I wasn’t allowed to take shop as a kid. As i start my machine shop, I learn something from him every single night; as I’m sentimental about the 60s and 70s, his endless pieces of savvy trivia and clever veiled social observation are a delight. Lets all wish him good health and long life!

    Great stuff agreed Mr Pete is a treasure for sure . I had a Stanley Yankee type one when I was an apprentice and I loved it for drilling mainly it seemed to do wood pilot hole better for screws than any tool I had . Then when I had all my tools stolen I could never find one to replace it . I found copy ones but never the same or as good to use . You have done him proud and made a fantastic job of them thanks again great and very enjoyable . Have a good weekend John . Ta tar for now 👍

    Wow. I'd never seen a drill like that one. Yesterday I was looking for a wire cutter and got into an old box I'd forgotten about. I found three or four hammers and several tin snips I'd completely forgotten about. I had bought them about ten years ago and packed them when I moved out here. What was amazing was that there were two stud finders I'd forgotten about. They both used the typical 9 volt batteries. One was a famous USA brand and the other was some Chinese brand battery. The USA one was bulging while the Chinese one actually was still working!! Just the opposite of what I expected. - Kathie

    • @ScoutCrafter
      @ScoutCrafter  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kathie! Of all the batteries the 9V ones are the least likely to leak, it's the way they re constructed. Another thing to be aware of is if the devise is sealed (air tight) then the batteries will leak at a much faster rate! Like flashlights with rubber o rings! =)

    Busch aluminum polish is available on Amazon and while it's expensive ($25) none of us old farts would probably ever need another bottle.
    I lived in Colchester, CT from '99 - Dec ;12 so when I saw the Zagray swap meet video it brought back a lot of fond memories. I commuted to Shelton & back every day for approx. 9 years so I'll let you figure out how many miles that was - LOL... Make sure you go back when Harry's Hamburgers is open for the season.

    Great job as always. I have picked up many of those different push drills over the years. Some times I will buy one just to get the bits. I get poison oak real bad. Many years ago my doctor at the time was also very allergic to poison oak. He was also a scuba diver. After a diving trip in salt water he said the weeping sores on his skin cleared up very quickly. He also said that real warm water during a shower or bath would make the poison spread because he said the pores in your skin were more open. A cool bath seemed to help me. My Pete is one of my favorite TH-cam people also.

    Hi Scout: Have you ever tried Plastic Buffing Compound???,here is my tip,use a loosely sewn buffing wheel a very small amount of buffing compound and then a light touch to the buffing wheel, do not push the work hard into the buffing wheel because it can melt the plastic,try it out on a piece of scrap plastic!!!

    • @ScoutCrafter
      @ScoutCrafter  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! You are so right, Certain plastics do buff out nicely but I usually don't show that because almost everyone (myself included) will melt their first couple projects!!!! -=D It takes a very soft touch and lots of patience!

    Mr Pete is clearly the “first great artificer” of tools on TH-cam. Thank you Mr Tubalcain.

    Hi Scout. ....thanks for taking such good care of Mr Pete's tools. I know he said he didn't want them back but maybe he'll change his mind after seeing this. Just a suggestion but it might be nice to see how you do the painting sometime. Thanks and have a happy day!
