Fantastic video. I've been playing guitars for years and have had quite a few switching systems but watched this anyway because i loved the playing! Learned a few things along the way too!
Grazie per il video Alberto 😊 richiesta esaudita in brevissimo tempo. Interessante il tremolo messo prima degli overdrive. Il compresore post gain lo preferisco anche io. Il Secret 1 gran bel pedale!
Ciao Alberto! WOW, you threatened to do this M. 6/14/21 & here it is already, 18min & 45sec. of action packed information & fun, . . . WAY COOL!!! I'm a complete illiterate when it comes to guitar, etc., electronics. I've got a portable "Roland 'Micro Cube' GX mini-amp" for my PRS, which is illiterate idiot proof & all I need. THANK YOU so much for sharing & enlightening the masses, like me!!!! I've always wondered about all this stuff! See you Monday! Kind regards :-D , :-) , :-) , :-) .
@@albertolombardimusic P.S.: Your also an absolutely artistic wizard when it comes to cinematography / videography, content, & audio-visual editing! Remember your video "Home (duh!)," among others? Ciao Alberto! After watching an encore / "bis" performance of this video following your Friday surprise video "Stratocaster layout, my unusual way" from yesterday, there are so many crayon questions I have as an acoustic player (sorry): specifically, power issues. Do you power your rig with batteries - what about various voltage demands the various effects could have - 9v, 12v, etc.? What about the various voltage supplies & plug adapters if you're playing internationally & using a wall socket, 110v versus 220v, etc.? convertitore di corrente alternate / continua requirements, but not always. It all makes my head swim! There's so much techno-stuff you have to line up before you can even hit the 1st note, . . . tuning up. I imagine the man behind the curtain in "The Wizard of Oz," with 6 arms & his hair on fire. The BEST fuzz / distortion I ever heard was from a little brown tweed '50s - '60s "Fender Champ" (like Clapton used) run through a larger '60s Fender amp. It was like 600 grit sandpaper, very fine, instead of a much dirtier 60 grit sound. I'm a nut for the "Leslie" sound, . . . + chorus - heavenly! P.S.: Did you catch that double stop lead demo from "And Your Bird Can Sing" I e-mailed you? That's it for now, see you soon I'm sure. Ciao, "Break a leg," & kind regards!
Underneath the pedalboard I have a transformer capable of different tensions, it's called Mondo by voodoo labs. It provides different isolated tensions and it's really quiet. I love the vibe effect too, I should buy one..
Hi Alberto, I have a question in regards to the Fuzz pedal, As I noticed, the Fuzz pedal is in one of the loop of the Gig Rig, is it in a buffered loop or a non buffered loop? I'm planning to add a fuzz pedal into the loop of my pedal switcher, but am worried that I will not be able to get the full characteristic of the Fuzz.
Alberto, let me ask you a (maybe obvious) question. In the part of your video 2:40 to 2:49, your sound is very clear, bright and dynamic on 6th and 5th strings. It's a powerful sound and not a poor tone, like a jazz guitar, if you know what I mean. English is not my first language and I'm not able to explain exactly what's the detail I refer to. So, if you got it, I'd like to know what is the essence of it. The starting point. My stratocaster has a darker sound and I guess it's not about pedals, but strings type, pickups and amp combined. So, congratulations again. Your videos are awesome. Thanks!
Thank you! The more midrangy sound of the lower strings, and all strings for that matter is the overdrive pedal that boosts some mid frequencies. I prefer it to flat response of a strat pickup because it cuts more through the mix. Cheers
Thanks awesome play. I guess will benefit you a lot if you got many modulation type in a song. So for my genre I don’t have, still thinking if worth getting one, or just develop to tap dance 3 pedals in 2 seconds. lol 😆
Hi there! With regards to your switcher in this video, I take it you have to remember exactly which switch does what (in terms of selecting a group of pedals) providing that the lights on the pedals are always on? I know some switchers will have a display with the name of the setting you created, but with ones without the screen, do you just need to memorise the combination for each button? Thanks
I just received mine and have a question. How do I send output of my pedalboard that is connected to input of my amp to the pedal? Sorry to ask a dumb question but the inputs only allow one cable from each amp. I want to send pedalboard-> amp-> Morley switch pedal input A and then on amp 2 send output of pedalboard 2-> amp2 -> morley pedal input 2.
Is the morley a volume pedal? If so you can use the send out of both amps (or preamp out) then go back into return of the amp (power amp in). Assuming the amps have that
Any thoughts on using the G2 switcher to send MIDI patch changes to the Strymon pedals .... or are you happy with just the two presets? Very nice board, and excellent playing .... loved how you deliberately avoided doing the full Pink Floyd link :)
Thanks! I never tried it especially because this version of the G2 still sends one and one only midi PC for each switch. So you have to program the strymons accordingly. They fixed this now, but honestly I’m good with 2 main delay sounds and sometimes I do a bank up/down for specific things ☺️
@@albertolombardimusic Thanks for the quick reply :) I've got a much simpler switcher but I have an HX Stomp which will be sending MIDI commands out to my Boss RV500, MD500 and DD200 (and a few other bits) .... I believe the HX Stomp can be programmed to take in a single PC message and send out a string of different MIDI messages to control other pedals, and I'll be experimenting with that! Looking forward to hearing a lot more of your wonderful playing.
The standard pickups that come with a custom shop 60 relic, they're called vintage 60's or something like that but not sold without the guitar. plus Duncan Jeff beck
