3 years ago I had surgery to repair a badly ruptured achilles. Since then I developed pain and numbness in the foot both walking and sitting. After talking with my doctor, who recommended PT, I found this video online. I'd like to thank you, because after a few days I am walking so much better and the problems are diminishing. I hadn't fully realized the association of the brain and core and feet. Great help!
A truly useful sequence. We men greatly neglect strengthening our ankles and feet. It is essential to train these parts of the body too. Ahh obviously I couldn't keep my balance with my eyes closed.🤭🤭 I was very ashamed. 🙏Thank you so much
"Conquer Your Balance"! That is so well-put! Ty for this video 💛 ps Physio-style approach reminds us that we're meant to balance on the 'tripod' of the big-toe foot joint, the lil'-toe foot joint, and the heel, but many of us do the center foot joint and heel (2 points)! I can only begin to do some of the exercises if mentally focus on those 3 parts of the foot, otherwise the body just struggles on those 2 points they are used to😄. Ps the new balanced weight distribution also leads to all these "midline muscles" activation woww
Just to add to that comment -- I've learned that in teaching it's the very best to instruct what to do than what not to do -- So by bringing their attention to _where_ they should feel pressure to accomplish balance instead of only reminding them not to scrunch the toes or let the leg sink 'into the hip'. Both of those can be rectified by pushing the big toe joint into the ground (and the other 2 points), which again can be quite foreign to many :)
Thanks for the tip and I'm sorry I didn't include this obvious cue, as you can imagine sometimes I'm not able to think about all perfect cues when doing a video, I'm definitely not perfect at speaking, just doing my best 😅
@@Sofabar No worries, I'm not thinking about how 'good or bad' you are -- just what is helpful from the inside of someone who is struggling with balance in the feet :)

I could only not collapse if I shut my eyes for brief moments while holding a chair 😆
@@yvonnemariane2265 In fact, even for me the only solution was to lean on a chair when I closed my eyes.
Happy you liked it ❤ ❤
You'll get there, takes some practice ☺️
So much needed ❤ thanks Sofie
