    Great new can! Thanks for the information and walkthrough, what a lovely bike! Now it sounds better, too. I hope it just doesn't interfere negatively with the performance of the motorcycle.

      Also, is there an aftermarket grab handle for the pillion, like the handles in the BMW G 310 GS? Thanks!

      So far it seems unchanged, although I was told that removing the baffle will have a negative effect on performance until properly turned. With the baffle in it's meant to be similar to the standard system, but obviously a bit louder. I'll have to do a bit more testing in different conditions, like longer freeway rides and some sportier roads to know for sure.

      @@felipe-nt-d I know on the Ventura system I've got you can grab a U shaped grab handle bar to replace the rack setup, which adds something to hold onto directly behind the pillion. I haven't been able to find any side mounted grab handles more like the G 310 GS however.

    Do u need dyno tune for slip on exhaust?

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They recommend a tune if you run it without the baffle (although you could get away with no tune, it just won't run as well), but it runs great on the stock bike with the baffle in.

    Go for full set,ecu reflash and dynotuning

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bit hard to justify on a bike like this unless it was getting tracked or raced, for me at least. If I was going to do that, it'd be on my Daytona with the Taylormade Racing exhaust!

      Moto Journo Kris i use Power Commander V,ECU reflash,K&N airfilter and full set Yoshimura on my previous 2007 Suzuki GSR400 which run perfectly even on highways mate...Not far behind from a stock GSR600 either..Not for track but just a bit of juice for normal riding when you need it..Even my cars i do stage 1 mods

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@normanhughedicko4076 I ran similar on my FZ6N a number of years ago, back in the PC III days, with K&N and M4 exhausts. Terrible though it is to admit, I'd rather some look good/comfort mods than performance mods (apart from an exhaust) on a lot of machines, unless there's an issue with fueling or performance I want to fix! But a PCV and custom tune is huge money once you add dyno time around here.
      I think I got my PC III back in the day for $200 and there was good maps to suit. Now the PCV is almost the same price as a good exhaust.

    Hi Kris, I am thinking about getting the ninja 400 for my first lams bike and I was wondering is it legal for a learner to put one of these little puppies on a bike ? Sounds so much better with it on. Great video :-)

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think technically speaking any modifications to LAMS bikes are not allowed - at least here in NSW if you check the wording of the rules, but I still see slip-ons on many L and P-plate bikes. The Arrow with baffle in won't upset anyone, although baffle out is a bit louder. I think it just comes down to whether you want to risk it, which isn't all that dissimilar to being fully licensed. They just tend to keep a closer eye on L/P platers for enforcement.

      @@MotoJournoKris I understand, yes I agree it may be too small a thing to risk the consequences of getting caught with it on. 2 years goes by very quickly anyway. Thanks Kris I think I will wait for my unrestricted license, I appreciate the feedback and I love your channel, take care.

    did the engine light stay on after you installed?

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shouldn't be an issue from memory, there's no EXUP you're disconnecting so nothing to cause an engine or error light.

    Did u install it with torque wrench

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No torque wrench for this one, but if you're worried about getting the bolts to the right tightness you could.
