These are cool before a reverb too because it keeps the reverb open for a long time and decays slowly. To that same point a fuzz or something pushing hard into the envelope can make that touch sensitive stuff a little more extreme in useful ways. Havingnit gradually open up with a phaser or flanger slowly sweeping before it is also super cool sounding
I misspoke but meant to say having the reverb before the envelope so that all that decay of the reverb keeps the envelope filter open longer and more slowly decays. But yeah all combinations can do super cool stuff
