This was a wonderful video, Jayma! Love how you’re breaking this down into steps! And I thought I knew all I needed to know about printing my photos, but I didn’t know to change the ratio to 2:3 or 3:2 to print 4x6s! So good to know! Thank you!

Really enjoying this series. Good tips on breaking down tasks. I try to get in at least 30 minutes a day before my workday starts and another 30 minutes after.

So glad you enjoyed! Yeah…life tends to get in the way, doesn’t it?! I’m hoping this challenge will help me (and you!) get in the habit of doing a little at a time and being more intentional with the time we have.
I spend a little time before bed each day, or at least a few days a week, deleting duplicate photos and screenshots off of my phone so that I don't have to go through all of that to look at my photos too. I don't have a favorites album. I should start that. I usually just delete anything that I don't think I like or need. Then, when I go to print, I decide which ones.

That’s what I do sometimes just pick photos or print some so I have them ready!
It's a great way to fill time on the go! I hate doing it when I sit down to scrapbook...it feels like wasted time!

My biggest challenge at the moment is I am still trying to get my stuff organized. I get overwhelmed tryin to everything.
That is definitely an obstacle, but once it’s organized it feels so good and I find it helps you to be more creative!

This is basically the way I do it all the time, not just during busy times. It just works for me to spend the down time, (usually at night), to prepare and then get busy with the actual layout the next day... Or two 😉

Exactly! I hate when I have to print photos still when I sit down to create. Unless I have a deadline to create something and waited til the last minute (😅) this is how I prefer to do it too.
Such great tips for selecting and prepping photos for printing for a future layout when in the car/doctor's waiting room/public transport/kids sports - any waiting around time to get you ready to scrapbook. Can't wait for the next episode!

Great tips. I often sit in waiting rooms and peruse and choose photos, unless I'm doing some needlework etc. Nothing more frustrating than losing all that time, sitting and waiting!

I'm curious about the cost of printing photos at home vs sending them to print. Is it similar in cost? Quality? Love that convenience, but I've never really looked into it!
I spend approx $38 for 100 4x6 pics. Cost wise, that might not be the most cost efficient, BUT... I find that I'm a Lot more productive, I have less waste & I'm really enjoying using smaller image sizes in my layouts, whereas before, I only used 4x6 or 5x7.
Good question! It is a bit more expensive but there are so many benefits, it may end up being cheaper in the long run. 1) the quality depends on the printer, the Epson pm400 prints beautifully. 2) When I send to print I typically do that if I have a lot to print. When I have a lot to print, I’m not collaging them to smaller sizes. I have found when I go to scrapbook them, I don’t want them all 4x6, and I get frustrated because I want some in smaller sizes. I found myself reprinting anyway so the others were wasted. 3) Sometimes I don’t end up even scrapbooking all that I printed, so they were wasted. 4) I have found that I like to print as I go so that I’m printing only what I use in the size I want it. And the convenience of the pm400 allows me to do that on demand. This is what works for me, it may not be for everyone but I’m super happy with this system.
Do you only take photos with your phone? If not, how do you edit and print the ones you take with your camera?
Yep, I only use my phone! I do have a nice dslr and took some on it every now and then when my kids were younger, but it’s been SO long! I used to edit in iphoto. But it’s just way easier to do everything on my phone now.
