I have had my DHT 27 ton splitter since 2014. 75 - 80 cords over the years. Red Oak, Black and English Walnut, Pepper, Cherry, Apple, Eucalyptus, Pine, and Fir. The darn thing just keeps working. I'm in 8" of snow right now and want to go buck and split but I have injured my arm and can't safely do such so I am living vicariously through videos like this until I can go run my saw and lift things again.
I usually can clean it out by hand but if not I grab a small piece of wood. I like the screwdriver idea. I’ll have to remember that. Thanks for subscribing Cascade MtMan. I appreciate it.
Is the front edge of the cylinder attached to splitter frame? It seems to move a lot when under load, also does having to clean out debris from the wedge track drive you mad? Thanks 👍🏼
Yes Adam cleaning the bark out of the wedge track really sucks. I also noticed the cylinder move while under a load but no issues with it thus far. I’ll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks for the comments. Have a good one.
Love the splitter. I’ve had it since December no issues what so ever. I would recommend it. And from what other people have told me the company has great customer service.

I've got the same splitter. I like it, except for the clean out. So I keep a big straight bladed screwdriver in my back pocket just for that.

looks like it cycle fast. low tonnage works better, 35 tons takes forever to cycle due to the cylinder size.
Looks like some really nice wood bud. Hard work and perseverance pays off in the end man keep up the hard work.
It's just nice hearing that wood split in half. lol
Have a great week.
