- I Became a TOTALLY Independent Professional ENGINEER in One Hour One Life! It's been a while since I played One Hour One Life so it's time to jump back into it and explore the numerous updates that came out since the last time I played. And, believe it or not, the OHOL updates are back!

About One Hour One Life
This game is about playing one small part in a much larger story. You only live an hour, but time and space in this game is infinite. You can only do so much in one lifetime, but the tech tree in this game will take hundreds of generations to fully explore.
This game is also about family trees. Having a mother who takes care of you as a baby, and hopefully taking care of a baby yourself later in life. And your mother is another player. And your baby is another player. Building something to use in your lifetime, but inevitably realizing that, in the end, what you build is not for YOU, but for your children and all the countless others that will come after you. Proudly using your grandfather's ax, and then passing it on to your own grandchild as the end of your life nears.
And looking at each life as a unique story. I was this kid born in this situation, but I eventually grew up. I built a bakery near the wheat fields. Over time, I watched my grandparents and parents grow old and die. I had some kids of my own along the way, but they are grown now... and look at my character now! She's an old woman. What a life passed by in this little hour of mine. After I die, this life will be over and gone forever. I can be born again, but I can never live this unique story again. Everything's changing. I'll be born as a different person in a different place and different time, with another unique story to experience in the next hour...

I completed building my first engine AND truck, but only because the person before me did 90% of the work. It felt great to finish the project for them but I felt like an imposter driving around in it 😂

I have a question about one hour one life. I wanted to try the tutorial again where you need to stay alive till you die of old age. Can you play it again? I want to practice I tried to play it for real but I felt lost didn't know what to do.
Yeah you can play it as many times as you want, there's a tutorial button on the menu

@@yesthatmousyiris4887 There are two tutorials. You get the main tutorial first (the one you call a maze lol), and then you get the wilderness tutorial. Click the tutorial button to go into the first tutorial, take a few steps right and then go down through the door. At the end of the hall put the kindling on the fire and then light the torch with the long shaft. Then you can die in the snake pit. Then click "Get Reborn" (NOT tutorial), and you will spawn into the wilderness tutorial. Light the torch in the wilderness tutorial only if you want to leave and play the normal game again when you die.

Using a kerosene wick burner is TWICE as good as using charcoal for a newcomen pump. Instead of a tank of four units, you get a tank of eight units of water out of it. If your town has any amount of kerosene before your well has dried up, they should absolutely invest resources into a wick burner.
Think of it as a reward for acquiring kerosene ahead of the tech tree.
You get the same amount of water though, just earlier
@@TwistedHBG well a diesel pump earns you just four buckets of water, just like a charcoal-fueled pump. So whilst a kerosene wick burner still needs tires to be replaced, you do get more bang for your buck.
You get the exact same amount of water per kero long term though, you just get some of it a bit earlier

probably vsync issue, try turning it off in the settings ini files. Jason just like this morning added a checkbox for the ingame settings screen for it. so that'll be released this friday. But you can set the same thing in the ini files.
Lag or low framerate? If it's low framerate your PC can't keep up with the set framerate, you can set it to a lower value so it runs better (you can do it rn in the settings folder or directly in the game with this week's update)

Wait for the update and change it in th settings menu - if it says 60, change it to 30

1 hour economy of time
2HOL is better if you like the crafting aspect of the game. It has way more recipes and supports solo play.
1HOL/OHOL is better if you prefer to play with other people and enjoy faster-paced and more chaotic lives.
