i will curse a runner, no regret! if they /die i dont mind that much. It cost me a pip to pick them up but a runner is just griefing - new player or not. when a kid tries to jump i will tell them 'first rule, dont move or jump from me unless you are following me. Ignore it and i let you die . It's inconsiderate and a hassle and impacts my own game play.'
As a new player I find myself getting angry with other new players for not knowing how to do things that I didn't know how to do a day before.. There is still a lot I do not know.. or cannot do 'on a whim' until I do it a few times... the challenge in this game is getting into a situation where you can utilize what you know and also balancing that with taking time to learn what the next step is.... I am guilty of not doing much research outside of the game until I run into a situation where what to do next is clear. Just keep in mind.... it is likely not that these people are "lazy" but probably just have no idea what to do. (although maybe lazy in not doing their homework on the game). But I hope new people realize that there is going to be a plateau reached from new players to learn just enough to survive and yet not yet get into the higher tier tech as it branches out.... Certainly feel free to openly take charge of a place and directly tell people what to do. I think many new players are just afraid to ask or too proud.
This game was an amazing idea, but it failed miserably for one reason: The lack of tech advancement. The game was advertised as a journey from naked in the wilderness to driving cars on highways and fighting robots with laser guns. If THAT had actually been true, the game would have been worth a billion dollars. Unfortunately it is maybe 20% of that. Unfortunately, the creator thought he would be able to pump out updates a lot faster, and that players would take a lot longer to advance. He couldnt keep up and so the game got stale. Most people will play the game for a few weeks and then get bored, so the total number of players remains very low, and thus all the civs die and the large-scale progress that the creator had hoped to inspire never happens. Instead you just get thousands upon thousands of half-built 10-man villages that are abandoned because the new players want to see the game from the bottom up, and there are hardly any veterans to keep any given city going. Probably, to combat this, the game needs one other feature: People born in more advanced civilizations live longer. Otherwise the all civs will inevitably be lost and everyone will start over new every few days, as is currently the case. In my opinion, most players should die around 40 in any early-stage village, or if they are spending most of their lives outside of a village exploring for example. If they stay most of their time in the village and the village is higher tech, then their lifespan should increase, proportionate to the technology of the village and the amount of time they spend outside of it. In this way, more established cities will have more people because their lifespans are increased and thus they can spawn more player children and maintain the cycles and educate the lager population. Of all civs that have reached max tech (numbering multiple thousands at this point), the total number that are still thriving = ZERO. That is a direct opposition to the original game as advertised. There also should be an option to keep spawning in / near, a chosen village once you reached some goal in that village. Some building or something. Not based on family lineage. Then atleast the number of still thriving civs wouldnt be zero. People will naturally stop spawning there when they get bored anyway, there is no need to force it. These three things will revive this game. Likely nothing else will. ( Much higher tech, longer lifespans in high tech areas, choose to spawn in same location ) thats all it needs.

Yes, that's exactly how it works. You can spawn in as twins/triplets/quadruplets with friends.
