Listened to this song 10 years ago, my dad and I used to drive on the back roads all the time and listen to this song on full blast... we never had a good relationship between us.. but this song brought us together for a short amount of time we had together and I loved it. Thank you for creating this masterpeice, brings back good and a little sad memories but mostly good😊 hopefully in the future if I ever have kids of my own, I'll definitely share the memories I had with them!
yeah..its like how garth brooks was the original singer for "friends in low places" not mark chesnutt. but most people think of chesnutt when they think of the song.
I recently moved from Alaska to Hawaii, and it’s not the fields I miss, it’s the mountains and being able to climb a tree without a million bugs I’ve never seen before crawling on me. I miss going outside in full snow gear and just laying down in the snow feeling the soft flakes land on my cheeks. But so many people are like “what are you complaining about, you are living in paradise!” Well, it’s not MY paradise.
This song makes me so happy. I work at halliburton pushing 16 hour shifts at times moneys good but fuck I know life’s too short for that. Going to be working for my self now even if it’s less money I’ll be happy. All I need is my family, god, and ice cold beer. Sometimes I actually hit a local trail near me and just send my pre runner down a stretch feels good to put a little life back in me.
I'm an expatriate living in New York City, this song is making me happy and sad all at the same time. Hope to make it back to places that look like this.

This was one of those songs I've been listening since I was about 5-6 just riding around in the truck on Saturday with some iced tea during the summer and just enjoying life. 10 years later I'm still listening to it. I can’t believe this came out 11 years ago! Holy heckin! I remember when it came out, I shared it with my Daddy, he taught me about avoiding the interstate if at all possible lol he planned for the long way all the time on our travels. He was from a holler in Missouri. That’s how I still live, I love it so much I bought land at the end of a back road in kentucky with my inheritance after my daddy passed in 2017. I am happy this song still shows up on the radio sometimes. It’s like a hello from my Dadda! 🤗💗💫

Maybe you weren't listening to the lyrics when he took his girl out to a secluded spot. They were getting hot and steamy and it made him want to take a "back-road." Maybe not as innocent as you thought.

@@cl1fton34522023 and this song is still good 😉
I can’t believe this came out 11 years ago! 🤗💗💫
I hope this is your loudest song on your radio and make sure you keep downloading it on all plat form like apple music ,spotify and boomplay .if you wanna dialogue more my first digit is 616 followed by 675 then 298 and 7.

Maybe you weren't listening to the lyrics when he took his girl out to a secluded spot. They were getting hot and steamy and it made him want to take a "back-road." Maybe not as innocent as you thought.
