Dude, 4 out of the 5 rods that I own are under $50 and they’ve caught massive fish. The expensive one is a fly rod and you could probably see why it’s the expensive one.

I've got a nice 5-37 gram rod I've had for lime 10 years. Think I paid about £40 for it and its never missed a beat... perfect for bass fishing over here in the uk had many large bass on it. Walks the dog with a patchinko like a dream

If you’re serious about fishing and you finally buy a high end rod after using cheap rods it opens your eyes real fast. Shimano Expride and Zodias are my #1 and 2. And if you get into swim and glide baits spending money is what it takes, just ordered 2 custom glides for a combined total of $340 which is quite cheap.

I have been using cheap ass fishing rods my whole life and I’ve caught many many nice fish. The quality of the rod is honestly hardly important for catching fish. It’s your lure and your technique that really matters. As long as your rod isn’t going to break it’s going to work
