The red crank bait he grabbed works great for bass and especially pike! Just bought the same one last week and already have caught 10 pike and 1 walleye.
One too NEVER buy worms from Walmart. When I used to work there they didn’t change out the worms until most of them were sold. Not to mention they make the dumb green live worms or the garlic scent and they are just mushy. They’re usually half dead. If you buy worms make sure they’re in a styrofoam container. Then Fs you know they were kept properly.
Actually, you want to start out with shimano anteres dc on a gloomis rod, make sure you put seagar tatsu fleurocarbon line on. A good beginner bait is either a hinkle shad or a hinkle trout
The ugly stix gx2 is the best, I have caught over 50 fish on it, freshwater and saltwater, it has been buried in sand and saltwater and works after a little disassembling and cleaning. The combo is amazing and at a great price.
If you want an unbreakable rod for not too much, try the ugly stik gx2 I've had mine for forever, bent it, stepped on it, ran it over while dragging a kayak onto shore. It's an amazing rod and very budget
I started out this year with a Shakespeare Dock Runner spinning combo after a decade of not fishing. Now I’m using an Abu Garcia BlackMax bait caster combo.
Pretty good video, 𝖎 would recommend getting circle hooks tho (4/0 or 𝔞 bit smaller) so you can throw live bait like bluegill and wacky rigs. You also didnt tell the new fishermen about the legendary rooster tails😂 with the right color and spot those will be the best beginner lure

If you are new to fishing then yes, if you have equipment that you are able to use then never shop at Walmart. It’s better to save and buy better. I have spent hundreds of dollars on Walmart gear and it always fails. buy the more quality stuff. It’s worth it.

Dam straight old school will feed the family any day of the year 365 !! Some days my take all day but you will eat other days you can catch 200-500 fish in a day. Grass shrimp and CPole me and my dad would go to a spot about 6-7 miles from our camp and tie up catch bait on one side the boat and 8”+ Bull Bream on the other side from daylight till 8:30-9 we would catch 100-150 we keep then god only knows how many smaller ones we throw back and that was a regular thing
I got a ten dollar rod from Walmart and it worked just like my 80 dollar rod until I smacked it on the side of my dock cus I was mad because that was the 5th fish I lost in a row
That rod lasted me not even a year hardly touched the thing and the tip snapped and the reel completely fell apart on me 😂😆😂 if you want to go fishing buy the straight 100 dollar rod than save for other shit or youll give yourself a headache
