I'm using Tab A7 and it seems to be pretty good. Also here in India A7 is cheaper by a decent margin and I'm pretty satisfied with it! The A8 is around 66$ expensive for me and that matters for me. But both are pretty same overall.

    Man, you've been stunningly good!
Clear, HONEST, briefly, organised & schematic, precise, trustful, and also quite modest in your exposing.
THIS IS A REVIEW, period. And it's so helpful for purchases advices...
I'm Italian, in Italy, and yesterday I've ordered my A8 64GB, and I'm so looking forward to test it... to experience it, and enjoy it. I've never got a tablet before. So, very nice step up!
Ps: I like the forms of the A8, it's so "boxy", and the edges are pretty finer than the A7's ones. But indeed there isn't very stepping up from one another... it is much of a "refreshing" of the market segment for Samsung, not a real upgrade. (So bad policy...)
Hope it will last long!! And shall I be satisfied with that, instead of tablet that cost 3 or 10 times more... it is a perfect 80/20 for me. You got my point upon this? Do you agree? I think most people should verge toward this mindset and tech, as for many other things in life xD
Plus, I've paid it 200 €, that is the REAL same price of the 32gb version, but for discount here! The stepping up in price between the two, however, was also VERY small, not thus to justify and prompt to chose the 3gbRAM version.
In my opinion, moving from the fact that it is even expandable via mixrosd till 1tb (infinitely!), it is NO SENSE to crave for the 128gb... NOR the LTE version, that cost more. People just use the phone for it... doesn't it?
I hope I'll be as long satisfied from the above mentioned 80/20 ratio of performances!!!! Even bcs I'll use it basically for "light" purposes: video, movies, texting, browsing, and dull applications... FOR SERIOUS GAMING, I'm easily gonna be using my phone! Am i wrong?
Thank you (unnamed) man, and keep UP!

Just got grey 128/4 LTE varriant for only $280 here in Indonesia. So far loving it. It runs smoothly for my day-to-day usage. Media consumption is good for a budget tablet and light gaming runs well. I was planning for A7 but considering the price is not that much of a difference. Moreover, I will get longer for security updates so I opt to get the A8 instead.

You can move many app installs to the SD card, but not all, esp. not the ones that come pre-installed (which were a massive space drain on the 16GB tab A6).
I'm still on the A6, and with every install from Google Play, I go into the settings and check that app to see if it can be moved to the SD card, and immediately move the install there.
This should be doable on A7 and A8 as well. It's hit and miss on which apps will allow this though. The emulators I use all are installed on the SD card.

In Dubai… The A7 is short of stock and priced higher (min $50) than A8. The A8 32GB comes with 26GB of its own software. Not many takers for A8. I liked the positioning of the camera in A7 as it was good for online school.

I can tell you I've had the 64gb A8 for almost a year now and it has been fantastic in every way for day to day web browsing, streaming and occasional gaming. If you are considering getting one make sure you get at least the 64gb as if you get the 32gb just the operating system takes up almost ⅔ of the storage. I don't even understand why they make such a low storage model when so much of it is already used up out of the box.

@techgeartalk: I have had the a7 for 3 years and have been fighting with the warranty supplier about the screen cracking on the inside. Well I now have a yellow light seeping out across the screen. I thought about getting the s6 or s7 but really didn't want to spend alot. I'm hoping the same issue doesn't happen on the A8 but haven't opened it yet to ensure it's what I want ( I got a great price of $239.99 cad & paid$259.99cad for the a7 when I got it 3 years ago). I've also read reviews that the a8 drops the wifi regularly. What type of things does the dual core process use as opposed to single core? Have you received any further info since this review on the a8? I also found the S6 lite w/64 gb at $199.99 cad. What do you think is the best option? I know i need at least 64gb & want something dependable. Any help you can provide would be appreciated

I'm a musician so I use my tablets for my music and a great music program that's only for Android/PC.
The heck with buying a new tablet, I'll stick with my older tabs. I figure: if it ain't broke, why fix it? I'm still have 2 way older Tabs (I think Tab 3 and 2....can't remember). They work just fine.
What I'm waiting for is a BIGGER Galaxy! They keep talking about but I haven't seen it. It's myth. Why do they keep putzing around with another 10 inch Tab?? If they went to a 12 or 13 inch then they could rightly compete with the big iPad. I hate Apple products. So I would love to Samsung come out with a BIGGER tablet.

As an owner of an A8, we are still waiting for Android 12 on October 1st! My advice is to save your money and get an Apple iPad. Performance is higher with the A13 spanking the Unisoc in the A8 or the Snapdragon in the A7. You can use the Apple Pencil (first gen). Better, more apps than Android has. Better vetting of apps as well. Plus WAY more aftermarket gear like cases, styli, etc. Why would any company release a tablet with an out of date OS is beyond me. Then, make us wait for 9 months and still not have it! Selling the 32GB version is a joke. NO device should only have 32GB in this day and age! And Samsung is crippling ALL of their devices by not allowing offloading of apps onto SD cards. A1 or A2 SD cards are plenty fast enough nowadays. Get with the times Samsung!
This is my first and last Samsung tablet. My next will be an iPad.

I don’t know…about two years ago my neighbor had asked me to ‘fix’ his old low-end Samsung tablet he bought around 2016-2018. I tried and failed. I checked the operating system and it turned out to be the newest one available, and there was nothing wrong hardware wise. It was just unusable, failed on tasks as simple as browsing websites or watch stream videos. All apps did was open-froze-crash-and-repeat, meanwhile my old iPad 2 is still somewhat useable today. I just won’t suggest anyone buy a low-end tablet from Samsung. Two to four years of usable time for minimum tasks is way too short no matter how cheap the tablet is.
