- Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, cooler than a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce, it’s Piper the Aviation Bird Dog, ready for duty. Alongside his handler Brian Edwards, the dynamic duo protects the planes at Cherry Capital Airport from bird strikes. Birds can pose a huge threat to flight safety, but when they see Piper on his way, geese, ducks and gulls flee the runways. It’s an important job, but not one without its share of fun.

Suggestion for all airport dogs: Consider hearing protection. Aircraft engines are very loud.

Don’t think there is any gear out for hearing protection. Part of the issue is the dog won’t be able to hear the commands... and no a shock collar won’t help.
The goggles is not just for sunlight, it's for rocks and sand kicked up by the plane engines and wheels, you don't want even the tiniest bit of sand shot into your eyes at 200 km/h.

Piper with those Goggles is the coolest living being I have ever seen
I know exactly what you mean I have a Border Collie female she is my best friend in this world and I swear a soulmate. They are amazing dogs and I talk to her like a human as well and she understands what I am saying , she has proved that time and again but being a female she is very headstrong and can be obstinate to the nth degree. I also have several Australian Butcher Birds that I feed that are still wild and she always comes and tells me when a bird is there and wants to be fed. She is 13 years old now and I will miss her like a child of mine when she departs this world.
I have a female collie too called Molly she sounds a lot like yours. She's 14 and not very well at all, I got her from the kennel as a pup isn't it sad watching them grow old 😞
