Good comparison, thanks! I got mine the other day too - I'm really pleasantly surprised by how much quieter it is than my 850. It's funny, it doesn't come across as being that much quieter in videos, and even in person the decibel meter on my phone doesn't show a major difference, but there is a huge qualitative difference to my ears 🤷

@@skygreen5939 you’re welcome. And it’s so much quieter! When you pull the trigger without it impacting it sounds identical to the 850. Dewalts new xr tools have really been impressing me.

Good review man! I wonder why the bigger channels haven't reviewed it yet

@@walterbwd honestly they’re waiting for Dewalt to send it to them. I couldn’t pay for tools either if they send them to me for free. Not knocking them just an assumption. And thanks I appreciate that!

The 870 isn’t even available on the shelf yet in many places. I got tired of looking for one and finally ordered mine online.

Super smooth, quiet, and lots of power. Definitely the best oil impulse impact driver on the market. My only complaint is there’s a lot of flex in the head when it’s used for high torque applications. Idk if you’ve ever felt the Milwaukee 2904-20 do it but it almost feels like the shell is about to crack. Still worth the money though 100%

looks nice, but you know that makita had the oil impulse driver out for a very long time right? hoping makita comes with a newer version since they other one is very old now. This dewalt is powerful though

@@UncleIvan1 oh yea it’s been out for years. So it’s understandable Dewalt is more powerful. It’d be nice to see makita make a gen 2 of the oil impulse id buy it.

@KjWilliams_ sadly it will probably be for the 40v line. Good for the 40v users. I can't transition to the 40v line cuz they don't have all the tools yet, plus it convenient for me to use 18v tools with adapters for different brands

@@UncleIvan1 it’s also really expensive. Makita tools are pricy. The lxt line I like so far but I may invest in the 40v line down the road

Hell I'm going to put it against all the Impact Driver's that I have but do it in a way that no one else will

Compared with Surge is this impact softer or about the same. How do you think?

@@andreizxc3 I would say the 870 is 1000x more superior than the surge in every way. I’m a big Milwaukee fan and I can say that the 870 is so much better.
