We talk about early memories of the movie, the online buzz and development before the movie came out, the designs of Autobots Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ratchet, and Ironhide. Soundwave was scrapped so they couldn't mass shift the characters. They would then mass shift several characters in the later films, from Skids & Mudflap turning into small robot modes from the Chevy Beat & Trax in ROTF (as I think the original ROTF Deluxes for them scale un alt mode), to Mirage literally being able to shift into any alt mode possible in ROTB.
Also, Perspective End does two great Bay Ironhide voices in the podcast. One that's near on point to the character, and one that's a great fusion of the Bay & G1 voices.
32:48 to explain how this works, in the idw comics, it states that megatron woke up once or twice, and they had to freeze him again, so that’s how it works with the canon
I don't know how true this is but a friend of mine who went to a animation school told me that a professor he had worked on transformers and showed that at in the code for rendering Optimus, when he was finished rendering, a program would order a pizza.
Also Bay like the name Devastator so much that multiple decepticons were considered for the film named devastator.

@@sped127right4 Just because they are alien robots doesn't mean Gravity effects them differently.
And the Cybertronians aren't stated to be ultra light weight, or ultra fast, you can't just throw up, "Other things are more unrealistic" as a defense of something being unrealistic, when the other thing goes out of it's way to explain why it works like that.

If I remember correctly, Bumblebee's legs were an actual prop that was used while a guy sprayed the actor. I'd have to go back and double check in the special features.
My first memory of this movie was the fact that it came out exactly a month and 3 days before I was born. I then didn't watch it until 2010 when I was 3.

I saw the second movie first actually. I was extremely young and my dad showed I to me and my little brain did recognize the awful parts of it, i just saw giant badass robots fighting each other. After that i saw the first movie and it was even better 😂

I remember a watch the transformers movie, just after saying the 86 one, I was just happy to see optimus alive.
I remember before I saw the movie I read some magazine that had a picture of a prop bumblebee being worked on in it. I thought they made a real working bumblebee robot. (it also talked about ironhide getting a second chance to not die in a transformers movie wich was a little ironic.)

Nitpick is still a valid criticism, not all that important to the film, but still an issue in the film. However, the glasses thing is not a nitpick. It is INTEGRAL to the plot, so it is REALLY convenient that the navigation only implanted on the glasses and not on anything else.

13:21 trust me I want nothing to do with robo women but Bumblebee Arcee did not look anywhere near as human like in the face compared to ROTB Arcee. I remember recoiling the first time I got a good look at bumblebee Arcee long enough to see her weird face

I as a 17 year old. Had no clue who bumblebee was and I was like why are they calling Hotshot Bumblebee 🤷♂️. I had no context to him. My introduction to G1 was really post 86 movie and I was very young. The bay films definitely have flaws but 07 was good. Hate the decision to have all the Decepticons as just silver metal bugs. Especially after showing Barricade. I wish they leaned into the G1 designs. I was so happy when they did it in the BB movie.

Anyone remember in the transformers movie website, if you did things in a particular order an Easter egg appeared. It was 2 Japanese men working in digging a tunnel when suddenly a Grimlock burst forth from the ground and started chasing them? The Grimlock was a man in costume similar to Godzilla, with aspect ratio meant to look like Grimlock was 3 stories tall as he chased the men?
I have waited so long….. to figure out there was a pennywise chia pet.

I've never realised how much PE stutters
It was kind of bad here, but it's not so much a stutter, as trying to get my thoughts in order, and not being able to shut up while I do.
While he's not necessarily a bad character the movies made me hate Bumblebee. Aside from Optimus he's the one that gets the most screen time. When Prime started airing I was like,
"Oh god not Bumblebee again." I don't know why but I just don't like live action Bumblebee.
I mean these movies are pretty terrible but I enjoy them because I get what I want out of them: Giant robots kicking each others asses.
I can't believe Perspective doesn't like Arrival to Earth. Dreams ruined.

1:05:14 Dino is the Ferrari owner son's name Michael Bay had to put mirage name as Dino because Ferrari went allow Ferraris to be in the movie if Dino name wasn't in the movie
The only movie out of the 7 I hate is the last knight I have serious beef with that movie, the rest I can watch and enjoy (aoe not as much)

Why does everyone complain about the racism in bayverse specifically but then nobody else comments on the racism in g1
You know the carbombya and such, the stuff that made cloffjumpers VA quit the show
Like I’m not saying the racism in the films isn’t bad because it is bad but like g1 did the same thing so if one is bad then both are bad
People do complain about that, but that's 1 episode out of like 90.
And the show had a bunch of characters of different races, who weren't a punchline based on their race. If you are any minority in the movies, then you are a joke almost without fail.
So G1 was really racist like 2% of the time, and the movies are Really Racist 100% of the time. They aren't really worth mentioning in the same breath.

And again that's 20 minutes out of 30 hours, if we pretend that ever second of that 20 minutes was racist.
And ALSO again, G1 has lots of NOT racist depictions of characters of other races. The Bayverse has NONE. If you are a different race in Bayverse, then you are mocked for it.
Lastly you don't know that. The only reason we know about it in G1 is because it was Casey Kasem, one of the most famous actors of all time. Are you really willing to say that without a doubt no one who just wasn't ULTRA famous quit the movies over the racism?

Sargent Epps doesn’t have any racism attached to him even tho he’s black, izzebella in the 5th film is Latina and I don’t recall any racism there, sir Anthony hoppkins character is British in the last knight but nothing racist happens with him same thing with Cade’s love interest in that film who is also British
I’m not denying that a lot of background characters or minor characters aren’t there to be made fun of but saying every character that is of a different race is a bit over exaggerated
Last point I’ll make is in that g1 episode the leader of that nation Abdul fadakye is a very stereotypical depiction of a Arabian dictator, now bayverse does have racist moments but not of those moments exist to vilify the minority characters
