I would say there are ways around and inbuilt weaponry and make it stop being a narrative problem, transformers animated and idw came up with two ideas I think we're really well, Stasis cuffs (animated) and Inhibitor chips (idw) are perfect ways to stop them from using inbuilt weaponry and yet not making them completely defenseless
That requires the characters to have Stasis Cuffs, and if they come off they are back to full ability. They don't have to hunt down a weapon.

Transformers the things known for their toys mainly as a podcast were they’ve barely talking about toys at least transforming ones

Movie wheelie with brains took out a mother ship in dark of the moon, I feel like wheelie could beat laserbeak
Yeah they took it out by fucking with the controls and making it crash they didnt punch a hole in its hull or something
True but the fact that him and brains were able to take out the mothership that way, and the fact that wheelie and brains were able to pilot one of the ships to get up there shows that they are at least pretty crafty, and I feel like that gives wheelie a bit of an advantage over armada laserbeak

@@legonerd0666agreed laser beak has an areal advantage, but I don’t think laser beak ever uses his weaponry while in bird mode in armada (I could be fully wrong I looked at the wiki and didn’t really see a mention of him doing that) and I feel like if they were both on the ground which if laserbeak can’t shoot he would have to do dive towards wheelie to attack him, I feel like wheelie could probably do some damage to him
In the case that laser beak does has access to his weaponry in bird mode I would agree that laser beak would beat wheelie
I love Sky-Byte but he’s the equivalent one of the villains Rita Repulsa’s group of boss monsters in power rangers. Just barely above monster of the week villains. Gets to hang out and take orders from the Real villian, a couple ranks lower than Goldar.
Episode topic idea: the Back Kibble Boys engage in a competition to see who has the hottest take on the franchise. Perspective would easily win, but Jake and Brian could surprise us.
We didn't record that, but we did record a Hottakes episode in general.

It's just if they can freely swap part of their bodies for it at will that I start to hate it.
My biggest issue with gun hands is that it makes no sense to be a natural component, especially considering that those who existed before the war have them. I can only think of 2 possible reasons for this existing
1. They arent natural, and they were integrated by outside sources for the war. This doesnt really work, since i doubt that anyone would choose trying to individually integrate weapons in a way that matches the individual anatomy of each soldier over just normal guns
2. They are natural, and they can turn their hands into anything they want, and before the war they were sed as tools. This also makes no sense, considering that no one ever turns their hands into anything but their guns
That's a great point, why would a species have inbuilt guns as part of their natural bodies.

Nothing about the Cybertronian race is natural, they are either made by The good robot god or the guys with 5 personalities.
The Cybertronian race was made to fight Unicron, and there are other threats throughout the multiverse too.
There are many instances of them having power tools for hands, including Generation 1. I am not trying to be elitist but how are you going to speak on Transformer lore if you have not watched G1, Prime, Animated, Cyberverse, Rescue Bots, Rescue Bots academy, or undoubtedly several others?

In g1, yes, they have tool hands, but not gun hands. Also, only part of the cybertronian race was built by the quintessons for battle, and I don't think they mentioned specifically who they were fighting, but I doubt it was unicron
Animated has neither tool hands nor gun hands, so I don't know why it needed to be mentioned. But in that show, there are no quintessons, primus, or unicron, and cybertronions don't really have a definitive origin to my knowledge
Prime has gun hands, no tool hands, and doesn't give an explination for where the gun hands came from to my memory.
As for RB and academy, they have no reason to be mentioned here. They technically have tool hands, but those were made of energon, not components of their bodies, and neither show really talks about where the cybertronions came from, and there's certainly no mention of them being made entirely for warring purposes.
So again, I ask, where are you getting this idea that idea of cyberionians being only war machines at first

Don’t quite understand PE’s argument about built-in weapons. If the argument is that you can’t really disarm them, what about just putting someone in an electrical cybertronian whatever restraint that electrocutes the limb so it can’t transform? Or physically preventing the limb FROM transforming? If your arm has to expand outwards to transform, wouldn’t a restraint prevent that? Or just pulling out the weapon from their body? We know it can be done since that sort of happened to Animated Ratchet.
Well one of the problems with it is that there's no point where they state that it's only the hands, and we've seen cybertronians who turn their heads into guns.
So a Physical block may not even function.
However beyond that if you say have a pair of hand cuffs that can do that, then everyone needs to be carrying a pair, otherwise no one can take prisoners.
Then if say the prisoner escapes their hand cuffs, they are back to being fully armed instantly. They don't have to fight someone to gain control of a weapon. They just have one.
I have even more reasons for not liking it, but I don't want to slam you with even more of a diatribe than I already have.

They have very powerful scanners in most continuities to tell them what to bind.
Then hack them, this has the natural drawback of interfacing with the enemy.
You can use the non-availability of stasis cuffs to illustrate the escalation of the war. The brutality of having to mutilate your prisoners because you cannot otherwise guarantee their passivity is great.
This allows a moral choice between crippling the captives or risking your soldiers. Just have the integrated weapons be unable to kill anyone, in a practical situation, so that the disarmed are still at a disadvantage.
