This was a tricky small map to make. I had never played the original before. I had never even seen the original before. Had to look at that one closely and try to emulate what it looked like.
The hills were very tricky here, still would like more randomness to the map spawn, but lots of things have to be hard-coded to get elevation to work when the changes are directly next to the TCs.
I like small maps series so much. It seems like those games require extra amount of focus from players.

@@AdmiralWololo yeah! TBH the red phosphorus games made early aggression look like so much fun, I’d like to practice that early aggression with standard civs. I’m just getting wrecked more often than not 😂

honestly small maps is my favorite series on the channel. It combines duels which I love and it also adds a ton of extra instant action and so many tide turning moments. It's crazy!

The problem for me with this tiny map series is that 9/10 it’s always the same:
“Food is hard to get so you have to depend on wood/gold units or towers”
It’d be nice if there were maps where that wasn’t the case. Say with a lot of fish/hunt/herdables.
Granted on this small of a map farms will basically always be unviable and therefore food will basically always be unviable.
Farms are too large in aoe2 for this.
I wonder if farms would become viable if they were 2x2 or 1x1

a new 2x2 type microgreens farm that needs more resources to build due to all the vertical scaffolding
you could still use the old farm to be more resource efficient if you have space
I think 2x2 Farms are possible. Might require a data mod though, not sure if it's possible just through map scripting.
I enjoyed this one, well done biry for finally making some archers. Perhaps a wall on the east side would’ve kept a safe eco

my idea for a tower nerf i would cut every ranged "Archer" ranged unit including towers , tc´s and castles to the 3.5 range we have right now but flat! but ! id double the effects of the archer range tecs increasing the range increase from fletching and so on by 2 instead of 1 , that would open up the maps for early melee agression but would grant cover in the later phase of the game and castles would be worth again with investing into the tech and fast castle and so on would be really worth it with the investment, and if you really want early melee aggression youll grant militia line kinda plus 3 or 4 vs villagers only
i think is better don`t change towers but remove all stone veins

Id like to see tiny map with 2x2 farms. Reasoning would be that it is not like archers are op, but that it is unreasonable to try get food economy in map like this because you cant fit enough farms. I feel like this is big enough obstacle that you cant get infrantry nor cavalry.
Suggestion for smallest maps:
Add 2x2 farms, so units that require food become more viable.
I kind of want my fellow old man Biry to win the series, but Prisma's done so well I wouldn't be bummed if he took it. GG

Eagles are insanely good on this map because of the low food cost and anti-archer potential. Portuguese needed to make towers but it would have still been an uphill battle to push

That was kinda boring because BIry FF'd too fast, he had almost 500 stone and did nothing with it, why not drop some towers and try to turtle a bit, that's what Portuguese are great at.
By that point he was dead in the water with the huge eco gap. Sure, like T90 said, one or two towers would have made perfect sense quite earlier.
I don't like sand. It is rough, coarse, irritating and it gets into everywhere

as someone who played all aoe games, aoe2 DE is amazing feels very smooth compared to the others (aoe de and aoe III de). I recommend getting aoe2
Im not letting myself spoil the end of this set by watching it on twitch but im really hoping it ends in a forest nothing
