You needn't be American (I'm Canadian) to appreciate the sentiment & patriotism of the song. Lee Greenwood still sounds amazing - he said because of HF & the Air Force Band he could add much more than he could as a solo. The Air Force Band & Home Free have such wonderful harmonies & singing & - of course - Adam's crazy beatboxing. The man at the control board is HF's producer Darren Rust.
Chills!! And tears in my eyes. Lee Greenwood said that he really loved doing this collaboration because all of the backup vocals allowed him to put in all those amazing ad libs that he did.
Take Lee Greenwood, add a touch of Home Free and the United States Air Force Singing Sargeants, and you have a fantastic mix of beautiful voices and harmonies. Love this song! Thank you for doing a reaction to it.
Goosebumps every time! If you do a 4th of July playlist, Home Free has an original written by Tim called Land of the Free that is a patriotic, upbeat song with a great video! Thanks for reacting to this one!
I tear up every time I hear this version of this song. So much talent, showcasing their love of country. I do, however, think it's a shame that this had to take place during Covid; for as great as it turned out with everyone split, I can't imagine how strong and beautiful it could have turned out if all this talent was in one place, feeding off each other. Thanks for the review, and I agree - it's not just Home Free, it's Home Free With LEE!!!! ❤❤
This is my favorite version of this song. Brings tears at the end every time. I, too, was going to mention Adam's jet flyover sound at the end but Denise beat me to it. Thanks for reacting.
Lee Greenwood was 74 when this was filmed, and he still sounds amazing. This song was a hit for him back in the 80s. The USAF Singing Sergeants were the ones in uniform.
Lee does sound great for 77!!! I think that’s how old he was during this. He’s amazing and with the backup of Home Free and the AF band - it was great. Try Land of the Free (Tim wrote it), My Country Tis of Thee for some more songs for the 4th! Good one Zack!
I'm not an American, but I can still enjoy the song. If you cut out the USA and insert another country it'll be fit other countries as well. Glad you enjoyed it as well. Home Free has several songs that would fit your 4th of July (Independence Day, isn't it?). You should definetly do Land Of The Free, as it's an original (by Tim). And the guys are always very respectful towards the artist they collaborate with and give them always some sort of spotlight. Yay for no egos.
I love this! It is so impressive! What a wonderful collaboration with Lee Greenwood and The United States Air Force band. One by one such beautiful voices which match so well with the voices of Home Free. The fact that Lee Greenwood remains the center of attention I think shows a lot of respect for this great singer. But Adam Rupp tops it off with his incredible beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds. I'm not American myself (I'm Dutch), but every time I hear and see this a certain shiver goes through me!! I almost feel like a proud American😉 because this is so beautiful!
July 4th 1984, I'm 24 years old at a 4th of July celebration in Alabama when this unknown singer comes on stage as a secondary act to sing his new single God Bless the USA. Who knew. Who freaking knew that I was hearing Mr Lee Greenwood singing one of the most patriotic songs ever written for the USA. It was a moment that didn't mean much to me then, but means the world to me now. Oh how I wish I could go back and really appreciate that moment.
Thank you for your wonderful reaction to this video. They guys did a "making of" version of this one, as well. Also, in addition to their first time singing it, they also did it AT Mt. Rushmore, which is really great. Regarding your thoughts about a 4th of July offering... I did a quick check down through the comments, and didn't see that anyone asked for Dan Vasc's version of "The Star Spangled Banner" that he offered to us in the U.S., on July 3, 2019. If you do watch it/react to it, be sure to also watch the brief "An Apology" video he posted shortly thereafter...don't worry about it...just react to it, raw. 😀
As others have already mentioned, Lee contacted Hone Free to do this collaboration, which is a testament to how good Home Free is. They have done many collaborations with great artists, all of whom came to ask them to get together. They also have an entire album full of patriotic songs called Land of the Free. The title song was written by Tim Foust and is definitely worth a listen.
Lee said he loved doing this song with the Air Force Band as well as Home Free because he got to do some adlibs. He said he felt that he could never do that because his audiences love to sing along with him on the original version.
If you do a 4th Playlist and for something probably completely out of your wheelhouse, listen to the Gaither Vocal Band singing Let Freedom Ring live at Carnegie Hall after 9/11. It's amazing

Home Free's My country tis of thee and Only in America are also other good ones
Home Free's original , "Land Of The Free" is the perfect 4th of July song.
Agree
Yes! A must!!
You will love this video!!
The video is as awesome as the song! ❤❤ a Tim original, but classic! 🥰
Definitely
Chills!! And tears in my eyes. Lee Greenwood said that he really loved doing this collaboration because all of the backup vocals allowed him to put in all those amazing ad libs that he did.
Yes. He said he finally got to sing it the way he wanted to. 😉😉🥰
Adam's flyover sound at the end is ridiculous. The absolute best version of this song hands down. Thanks Zack.
A-FREAKIN-MEN!!❤🇺🇲

I can NEVER, not cry when I hear this song. This is a gorgeous rendition Of Mr. Greenwood, with Home Free and the U.S. Air Force Band.

#HOMEFREE.....so good!
Did you hear Adam's flyover sound at the very end?
Adam Rupp did a fantastic job, as usual. Love his fly overs at the end of the song.
This version ALWAYS brings tears to my eyes 💜💜💜🎆🎉🧨
I will be expecting a 4th of july playlist over the two weeks!
Home Free is not ego driven. They always spotlight any artist they collaborate with, another reason I love this group.

HF !! The most patriotic bunch of guys anywhere
Love this version ❤. Thanks for the reaction😊
First time to your channel. I never pass up a chance to listen to my favorite version of this song
I'm not an American, but I can still enjoy the song. If you cut out the USA and insert another country it'll be fit other countries as well. Glad you enjoyed it as well.

Just epic, everything about it.

Wonderful reaction, so glad you really appreciated it! Everyone of those singers are incredible.
Hi Arlene. Now we need to get our W.A.R.P guys to react to this😊
@@cherylschroeder3344 I will suggest it again
Thanks for this . Perfect timing
Thank you very much for reacting. They were all outstanding.
If you haven't, you should do, "the star spangled banner like you've never heard before ".
Best version!! ❤❤❤

Of course this was superb!
Amazing version 😊

YES!
Like angel’s with all the harmonies and the choir!👼👼
In 1989 Lee Greenwood wrote "God Bless Canada" for us Canadians, same tune as "God Bless the USA."
Lee said he loved doing this song with the Air Force Band as well as Home Free because he got to do some adlibs. He said he felt that he could never do that because his audiences love to sing along with him on the original version.
Did you hear the flyover at the end? Unbelievable version. Loved it.
This is an extremely awesome collaboration! Love your reaction! ♥
They have a making of video for this one. It's allot of fun.
❤❤❤
Home Free’s version of American soldier is also a very good song for your list.
If you do a 4th Playlist and for something probably completely out of your wheelhouse, listen to the Gaither Vocal Band singing Let Freedom Ring live at Carnegie Hall after 9/11. It's amazing
For one of your songs, try Charlie Daniels band "In America". Badass song!
Home free elvira with the Oakridge boys please!!!!
My country Tis of Thee and their original God Bless the USA with out Lee is good also.
