These are all excellent maneuvers for learning ‘stick and rudder’. One last one is imagine that your pencil is pointed at an object on the horizon, and you slowly go cross controlled with rudder and aileron one way, then slowly cross controlled with opposite rudder and aileron, all while keeping that ‘pencil’ pointed straight at the object in front of you. It’s a very, very hard maneuver to master. I call this a Dutch roll, but I’ve seen different definitions. Back when I was an active CFI, I would have my students do these as we transited to and from the practice area. Made good use of that time if I wasn’t teaching anything else, and really helps with coordination and x-wind technique.
Thank you! Yes I have my students to Dutch rolls as well… Dutch rolls we’re actually one of the first maneuvers my dad taught me back when I was 14 and started learning to fly :-) thanks for watching!
Oh hell no. My brain hurts just chair flying that circle and triangle. Hahaha. Great exercise Sam. I'm going to work it out and see if it doesn't help my lazy 8s & Chandelles a bunch.
Haha yeah I was recently made aware of that video. Believe it or not I had never seen that prior to making this video, no had I seen or heard of anyone else doing this … so much for trying to be original lol 😆
Great exercises to practice for sure!

Let me know how it goes! 😄🙌🏻
Great exercise! Flew it on xplane waiting on VFR & it really is fairly difficult to get a smooth circle. I drew a dodecahedron or something.
Haha 😆🙌🏻🙌🏻
I got my PlayStation controller but I kinda skimmed the video…. What am I supposed to do with this thing, exactly? 🤓 great video as always, dude!
😆 I was waiting for someone to bring that up. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
the G3X has a Konami Code level 😆
I remember seeing a Spencer Suderman video doing this: th-cam.com/video/4J774toU7nI/w-d-xo.html

@@NorthwestAeronaut I believe ya. doesn't mean it isn't good, and plus our practice area is prettier.
