You did check all the valves I hope, because the video only shows checking half of the valves. There are 4 valves per cylinder, 2 intakes and 2 exhaust.
Lots of people commenting on how the Honda is "flawed" because you're supposed to check the valve adjustment, this is false. It's supposed to be done on many SXS's, as well as other vehicles, but people just ignore it. The Honda manual states to check them if they're making noise.
You should at least mention the other 1/2 of the valves in the description since you can't re-edit the video... maybe even add a tool tip in the video at each check point.
Tearing it all apart and putting everything back together is no problem for me. The part I don't like is adjusting the clicking exhaust valves. It's beyond me.
why cant the valve clearance be adjusted with the adjustable rocker arms? just an auto mechanic that adjusted many honda car valves before. most likely does not need done for about 10k to 20k miles
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you for providing this well organized informative video for other talon owners.
jpcalhoun21583 Thank you for watching!

Thank you very much for taking the time to post that video
You’re welcome
Hey. don't forget the rest of the valves.. 8 check points total. 8 valves to check.
Cool. Thank for watching
...still one of the most hated jobs- on any ride- thanx for showin...
Thanks for watching

And how am I to know if there is a valve noise, as opposed to the normal engine noise?
@@MrUtubeobia it will have a fairly detectable tick.
Agreed
Great job. Very clear and informative. Thank you.

Thanks for watching!!
Question. How many times have you done this and have you had to adjust them ever? Just curious. Thank you
I’ve inspected the clearance twice in 10,000 miles. Never had to adjust anything!
Very helpful and informative video
Kendal Hood thanks for watching!

It’s definitely a pain!

I’ve never had to adjust them! I have about 17000 miles on talons so far
thanks for the descriptive video.
Great video!!!
I don’t guess mine has a fucking timing hole cap. I can’t seem to find it😡
They all have one!
That's what my dealership is for.
And they’re expensive
Sounds like Honda’s need a lot of adjustments and repair others do not
John Nelson Most makes require a valve inspection but people don’t do it.
Just trying to keep the engine running for a long time.
Sucks you gotta check the valves on the honda. Not aware of any other brand needing this. Definitely a mark against the talon.
Jason S. Majority of the sxs’s recommend a valve clearance inspection
Yamaha recommends this also but my local dealer never found a YXZ out of adjustment...
DUNE YXZ same with Honda, never found one out of adjustment. It’s just a precaution
Honda Talon Owner Exactly
DUNE YXZ but with this video you can check the clearance yourself instead of paying the dealer hundreds!
Awsome video! Thanks $ saver!
