This is only almost a full playthrough (1)! It doesn't include all DLCs (2)! And it isn't played on a high level of difficulty (3)! 1) I ran out of time. I can only post videos up to 12 hours. I didn't reach 100 % in temperature, water and vegetation and I'm missing the 40 % workers in workshop milestone as well. If this video does well enough, I can do a follow-up video on this! 2) I bought a full game package four years ago after I initially played Surviving the Aftermath. Some more DLCs were released afterwards. I never played this game here on the channel before and I wanted to see if there's any interest in me playing it before I invest more money into it. 3) This is a mixture of reason 1) and 2). Firstly, harder levels of difficulty means slower progress, and I didn't even managed to finish the game in 12 hours on this level. Secondly, learning to play this game on higher levels of difficulty means more time learning how to do it. This was my third playthrough in total and there's still a lot for me to figure out! Again, if this video does well enough, I can try to beat a higher level of difficulty!
Thanks! :) No, there's no follow-up video. But I plan to play this game again soon! Although, you'll have to wait until next year because I want to advertise it as played in 2025! :D
Great game, but just in the opener, your initial build order dusted itself out quite hard. I find it way more expedient to set all the blueprints up in the pattern you want, then deactivate all of them, then activate them in order. It's not necessary to win unless you are playing with a very hard faction and/or start, but it pleases my 'tism.
Hey OP, good playthrough. How do you manage to explore sectors so fast? In my missions I'm setting like 10 sensor towers and I am done with scanning (including deep scanning) around sol 120. Maybe it's because of DLCs? I'm playing vanilla version.
Thanks! :D Are you building sensor towers all in one area? They're working better the closer they're built near unscanned areas. So, you need to spread them out. Unless you already knew that and the cause for your problem is somewhere else. XD
The maximum effective number of active sensor towers is 6, and I am a big fan of getting at least three up (if you're super poor and the build is extremely tight), or just going to 5 or 6 within a few sols if you can. Being able to shut off a bunch of buildings when they hit maintenance windows and not turn them back on when dust storms are going to hit definitely saves those extra resources that are so expensive early on. Compared to that, waiting a few sols to return a rocket or something is not that big of a deal.
@@HateBear-real but they produce way more when open. Got 3 of them in the early game of my first playthrough in years. They are a life saver during a enery crisis

@@MichaelJGetsTheJobDone this was the case, thank you! :-)
you can detect disasters sooner and scan faster with more sensor towers

You need to open your power sphers to make them work
No, Stirling Engines do not need to be open to "work."

@RigbyWilde they also require maintenance when open...
And you really don't want to waste polymers early on harder maps.
