dev here: SO GLAD YOU COVERED GENOME GUARDIAN! (and quite well I might add, considering the playerbase expanded by 20% during the 4 hours this video was out) To those watching, it's true what it said about this "only being the beginning" - he did NOT beat the game, that was the intro/tutorial. The game is MUCH MORE than just "white turret sits in the center of a circle" - there's lots of different turrets, modes, perks, and a big story that opens up as you progress!
I've given it a try today and its been a BLAST All the unique combos and depth progression is truly amazing. I cannot play it more today 😢 My friends are also having a blast! Great game with awesome gameplay and a cute style! I will love to see how the game develops and follow along on its incredible journey.
@@cbbloveseverybody8111 Click that Discord button in-game and you can easily chat with me there. I will say that there isn't really any sort of "beta" the game goes through, but I could always use more people reporting bugs (there's a channel set up for that).

An idea I thought up for Wander's complaint about getting weapons in shops while they're unable to be used: allow a 'finished' weapon with 4 letters already to have each letter 'reinforced' (there's probably a better name for it) and it increases the base stats, to allow for additional scaling. So, a weapon with an A that gets a second A, will reinforce that A and give a small boost to accuracy, damage, and speed (since it's the pistol). A T will get AoE, damage, and burn. So, when you've got nothing left to buy, you can still slowly reinforce your weapons. Hell, maybe they reinforce endlessly, and you can somewhat keep up with enemy scaling on a God run. Once all 4 letters have been 'reinforced' once, you can do it again, but you can't, say, reinforce one A 4 times and never reinforce any Ts. It's gotta stay even.
Was just about to comment about ATCG as well, love how they were used as only 4 bases with combinations for upgrades, kinda showing how our measly 4 bases irl still make a ton of variations based on the combinations in all lifeforms ^^
@@KiwiSenseiYT to be fair i secretly wished for the orden in which you take them also gave different results. Now its just total of letters. Way more work though
Oh trust me, Genome Guardian can get extremely crazy. Tier 4 weapons are already pretty strong (and have some crazy effects) but it's important to draw out their strengths with the upgrades. But if you really want to get crazy builds, you need to unlock some of the perks. The dev really loves to put all kinds of weird ideas into the game that work surprisingly well in the gameplay context. And not everything is balanced. There is a perk that lets you wipe the entire screen once per wave when you overheat for example, which makes it a great panic button on demand. And there is a turret that constantly changes its stats on the background music (more intense music equals bigger and faster bullets).
@@frostysimo1394 Yes, exactly. They both have very basic base components but the synergy and customizations of the extra partsallows you to create some insane builds.
I’m really excited by how much different variety this game seems to possess and I really like how you set into choosing different things knowing it might change your gun system, but it will also add you the ability to get new unlocks
Having the ion laser bounce is only a good idea if you also have a -accuracy upgrade; it looks like when a "projectile" bounces it heads straight for the center of your turret; so having bounce may make it not go straight and instead turn the arena into a resident evil style chamber(sticky may also be an idea to add on if it bounces like I think it does)
I got this game because of you and I gotta say it's kinda easy. At least so far. TTTT is kinda insane with increased explosion duration or increased fire rate.
I think a really nice feature would be to have individual fire hotkeys for each gun, so you can fire only one weapon at a time, instead of having to always fire all of them.
Looking at it, it seems like each of the weapons have a core identity that the work with C/pistol: precision and range. G/shotgun: multi shot and knock back A/submachine gun: fire rate (I haven’t figured out the other thing this specializes in if there is one) T/bomb: explosions and size The ion laser is the pinnacle of range and precision. Put a lot of G into a weapon and you get huge knock back. The nuke shines when you pump it with size upgrade. Mix and match to make your perfect combination. Does the order of the letters matter as well? If so that must have been an insane amount of work to get done
This game looks really neat despite the art style that i don't really care for. The weapon upgrading system is what really sells it for me. You gotta love when games like this innovate because that really helps them stand out from the crowd and bring some fresh things to the table. On a different note, it's really annoying not being able to hear any sound effects though. That really lowers the quality of the video significantly. I hope you'd consider the fact that it's more enjoyable as a viewer to hear them instead of them being muted.
@@AAAlpherior You could add a factor in bounce : bounce amount to make laser actually viable with bounce. If you do this you can make the turret upgrade that doubles range on guns with bounce also increase bounce amount
I remember there was one game Wander played a while back, with similar visuals and somewhat similar playstyle. Any1 can tell me the name of the game plz, trying to find it. IIRC in the game everything is kinda like fuzzy ink blobs, you're defending the base in the middle, can add different turrets to it and they automatically shoots at the enemies. Wander had a whole series for it. Thx 🙏
The position order kinda of doesn't matter, if you get the first weapon as an A and the second as a C it'll be AC And if you get a C and then an A, it becomes AC as well, implying it's just the amount of ACGT in your weapon

"Feels like bouncy needs to be paired with range to be worth it"
One of my favorite things about Wander is that he'll randomly pull out words you'd never hear outside a college thesis paper like "Cromulent"

Need to see more of this, definitely the focus turret!
Try to get focus and then get CCCG with sticky trust me.
You turn into a nuclear power plant.
Then either scale attack speed, dmg or projectile count.

"he's styling on me, and I don't like it" 😂😂😂
Maybe it's just me but it looked the tier 4 letter Rail Splitshot was less effective than the tier 3 Railgun?
This game is great I love thanks for introducing me to it there is some very op combos and it gets very insane very fast
Sometimes a lot in the mood for a long video but today I definitely was
I'd love to see a combo of you just using submachine gun with the four weapon turret
Curious what a weapon with all 4 letters would look like.
Its a spammy rainbow dualshot grenade launcher called the four horsemen.
Its pretty busted 😊
You should play windowkill

1:08:48 “it’s purely a defensive maneuver”
You’re playing a tower defense game, I think *everything* is a defensive maneuver.
Currently at 55:00 , but also, theoretically hes in a perfect circle, and laser has pierce, would bounce not just go straight backwards and forwards?
I genuinely read that as Gnome Guardians

Does the order in which he chooses the different letters actually affect the weapon?
Why does double shotgun always turn into wave
