If your looking to purchase the bulbs and the needed twist locks
Go on Ebay or Amazon or whatever you prefer!
Search: 194 Twist lock (ebay seems to be the best place for the base)
Search: 194 5 SMD LED blue (or color of your choice)
If you have a bulb out in your gauge cluster this video will show you how to replace it.
the bulbs are 194's with a twist lock base.
the should apply to 1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado's
2000-2006 Chevy Suburban and Tahoe's
I ended up just swapping the stock ones out for LED's - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
This guy went out of his way to make a video to show others how to swap the bulbs in a chevy gauge cluster and so many people are talking shit about his video. Who cares if its shakey. If you don't like it that's fine but there is no need to bomb on the dude. I want to say thank you for making this video. I needed to know what bulb to buy and I now know thanks to your video!
Amen to that. I decided I want to convert mine (99 Silverado) as well and this guy had the video I was looking for
This video helped so much. I'm going to a autozone tomorrow to get some bulbs and twist locks. I been meaning to change my gauge lights
i did it on my 2000 gmc sierra. yeah it does work on gmc. thanks for the easy fix
I have a 2003 tahoe and I just bought the LED'S and stepper motors to rebuild my gauge cluster. Thanks to the good Ole engineers at GM I get solder my bulbs in after I desolder the burnt out ones. So wish they had the twist locks. 2003 to 2006 are solder in.
I'm assuming this is relatively the same for most vehicles..but thanks a lot! This was very helpful !!
I have no experience with any other vehicles so i can't say for sure! But hope it works in your application!
I love that blue interior, I've never seen one like that!
Awsome video 😂😂 Ima get started on this as soon as possible
The blue lights POP! Love it. thanks for the tip on EBAY search. And don't change your vids, they're informative and you're pretty funny!
Shaky video, but still helpful. I wondered how the dash gauge cluster was removed, so now I'll look into the led lights upgradex hopefully I'll be able to do that or at least get new bulbs. Thanks..
Good video man, im going to be changing mine to the led blues as well, and i will be following these step you were displaying. the nice catch on the hour thing, pretty cool. i thought i knew every inch of my truck untill now haha
You should post a video of your truck! would love to see it!
Yea im waiting too, just got to get everything done on it.
Excellent video! Most straightforward how-to for cluster bulb change ive seen thus far. Do you know if the 194's work for fords also?
Nice job it's shaky but you have the right points. I've got a GMC 04 I'm about to change mine.
+Jason Earnest I've released a video on the 03+ trucks called "03-07c Instrument Cluster LED Swap Silverado / Sierra" Check it out!
thanks for taking the time to help us with your vid, even though you were single handed.
Mike Zamara Check out the remake video I did. I think it turned out much better!
I've been looking at your video for the past 30 mins and wow man looks great. Could you send me the links for the bulbs and twist locks?
Thanks for the video. Where did you get the new twist lock bases? Part number or website info please. Are the bulbs 194's? Thanks
I can confirm this works on a 2002 Silverado. Just twist off the old and twist in the new. Brilliant blue instrument cluster! Thanx dude for an excellent how to video!!!
Thanks this help me out a lot
You can replace the factory bulbs with LEDs, or retrofit in new leds behind each symbol on the switches.
It looks pretty cool I my try that on my suburban.
Dude great video thanks !
Thank you!
My bog question is
How did/do you change the bulbs on your master door/window switch
Thanks man you made this look a lot easier!!! Do you know how to change the ones from the climate controls all of mine don't turn on any more.
+Bryan pena They are all soldered to the board
Thanks man that's going to be my next project
Awesome!
great video,, also look nice,,, i did mine for my 2001 civic,,,
I saw you mentioned how to change the power window switches with "3mm blue led 12v prewired diffused."
Do these type of bulbs apply to the rest of bulbs on the dash as well? Such as the temperature control and headlight control?
Sorry for taking so long, Yes they do. all are soldered. big PITA. I am almost done with the swap. I need to finish my 4x4 switch and my HVAC panel.
Good video, thanks.
Hey nice tutorial vid there .. been wanting to switch my lights out in my Sonoma for a while but never got around to it yet. I have a question though .. after you have switched to leds. Are you dash lights still dimmable?
Not really. They dim but not very much
I sent you a question on this. THanks for the VID
Also i have a 2004 Silverado is it the same leds and sockets? they look identical ? thanks for all ur help!
Hey I want to do this with my suburban! Where did you get your bulbs and how do I findout which ones are right? My front dash comes off the same way too
Your gear letter seem to be the same color blue like the gauges or green? I put ice blue led on my 99 sierra but the gear letter r still green stock but gauges are ice blue.
how do u change the lights thaf show parking n nutural
wow looks good. i wanna do this to my 99 chevy s10 so the blue matches my pioneer deh-x6800bt
+Muilisx Hope it helps you in some way! the s10 is probably pretty similar
Yeah it looks sick. I'll have to look into it.
Do they flicker with the cluster dimmer?
I did this a while back but how did you get your hour/odometer/trip meter blue as well?
Do all cars use twist lock or no? I wanna put led's in my Buick but I haven't yet taken the cluster out. Just trying to figure out what I'm getting into before I start
Do you have to take off the negative battery? I noticed you didn't but other guys did
hey great video. i thought i had to solder the lights befor. can you send me the link from where you bought them from
Hey that's a good video :) could you tell me where did you get the sockets for the led lights. thanks .
Did you change the analog green P/R/N/D and Mileage bulbs to led? I just did a led conversion on my Trailblazer dash but I still have that analog green, which kills the vibe of blue leds
No i didn't, it's not the color of it isn't really changeable, you'd have to cut of the green filter the light goes through and replace it with a blue one. haven't attempted it so I'm not sure how it'd turn out
Can you send me a pm on where to get the bulbs as well. That's awesome. Great job.
And does the dash just slide back in or do I have to do the shifting motion all over again?
sick man how much did the twist locks and the blue leds cost you
i have a 2001 silverado 1500
could you ever paint the bulbs for a customize colour?
were did u buy the leds and twist lock at
Hello, I hope you can answer this question, how did you replace the lights of the window and steering wheel controls, also the lights of the stereo. I hope you can help me, thanks man.
I took all the switches apart and soldered resistors and LEDS in place of the stock bulbs. It's a pretty involved process and not for the faint-hearted lol
Am I going to have to buy the twist caps for the bulbs? Or will I be able to just replace the bulb?
The hrs showed up on mine also thanks!
If these bulbs are anything like the ones that are in my car and are EXACTLY identical, get yourself a small and I repeat small screwdriver and resolder them in place... they do come apart. This would work with the Non-LED Autozone replacements. May screw up the first time, just keep a spare on handy to fiddle with.. I'd like to make a video response to this on how they come apart.
Could I get the links too please bro...good job looks great
Hey man what size are the twist lock bases. t10?
Also I thought I saw you the power windows buttons blue. Did you change those too?
Good job
I have a question what size. Is the led bright light bulb is.???? Because i have a 2004 gmc sierra
OH MY GOSH YOU HAVE A BLUE INTERIOR SILVERADO I HAVE ONE TOO THEY ARE SUPER RARE
have a question I did the same led conversation on my silverado but my leds they like to turn off by them selfs and I have to mess with brightness knob to be able to turn my entire dashboard back on do you know what might be causing this type of problems?
The leds are polarity currently put in and aren’t cheap leds either but they keep doing this for some reason.....
Check voltage of lights
Joe, i replaced my dimmer/switch assy , i had nothing until i did that.
Where did you buy the 194 twist lock base at?
Advance, Auto Zone or Pep Boys? So far Auto zone did NOT have them. Any suggestions?
Amazon
very cool man thanks. how do you replace bulbs on the ac and heatet panel? also the headlight switch?? thanks.
+Ramon Ayala It's not easy. but with some electrical knowledge and soldering skills. It is do able.
Thx bro. Looks nice!
How did u do your door switches man
info about (almost) any of this stuff and or parts, can be found by searching either u tube, ebay , google for the info or part ur lookin 4
Laughed so hard when you dropped the camera lol but thanks this helped a lot
hey buddy where did you buy the twist locks let me know please I need them thanks
do you know how to change the lights where it shows the mileage?
Where did you buy the bulbs and twist locks? I've been looking on eBay with no luck. Also are they 5 smd?
They are 5 SMD and eBay/Amazon are good options to find them on. twist locks are probably only on eBay if I had to guess.
Where did you buy those LEDs and the bulb holder knobs
Did you use the same LED bulb for your door lock /window switch?
No, everything else bulb wise is soldered to the board.
I really want to try this on my 2000 Tahoe LT, I know nothing about bulb sizes or even where to purchase the LEDs...can ya help me out?
they are size 74 twist lock its best to get new twist locks with lights already in them unless you want a little job to do
So i can do this for my 02 silverado. Ive all ready got blue LED interior lights and underglow
Where did you get your lights at?
hi nice video anyways i have a 92 gmc c1500 and i want to change my cluster light to a led light and i need your help of where to get the led lights and what is the right ones for my trucks thanks.
does this work on yukon XL and tahoe ??
if no can u plz make a video on it my both trucks suck with the stock gauge
May i have the link for the blue leds and the twist locks please. Very good video.
How did you paint your interior
its easy take dash off front undo wires to your other switches then move dash out of the way I have a 2004 chevy s.10 there 4 screws take them off around the cluster then un do plug on cluster hold the wireing harness squese the plug at top then slip out the cluster then take the back cover off then twist the bulbs out and ease out the bulbs that's in it after you got them out just slip bulbs back in where you took yours out when put cluster in don't screw it down lay it side ways turn them on then if don't all work just twist the bulb holder till comes on and put dash back together
Hey just a quick question .. have u replace the a/c, power windows controller and the 4x4 to LEDS to match your cluster LEDS???
HOPE I MAKE SENSE... Oooooo and tanks for the video it was very helpful on my project..
I have everything done but 4x4 and HVAC panel. work in progress!
sorry for asking man but do u need to buy them or do they come in the cluster if they don't can I get the link where can I get them thanks
Good Job, so number is #194 for the bulbs?? You think it is same fro Chevy Malibu?? How much you paid per bulb/LEDs?? Thanks, youtheman =)
+Eero Laukkanen They are pretty cheap now-a-days. you can get a 10 packs for a few dollars. I would have to say it really depends on the year of the car. in the 03 trucks they went away from the twist lock setup. cars might be the same story. only one way to find out, pull it apart!
i hope you see this i found a pack on ebay i wanna buy it says with the twists lock and bulbs together its 20mm is that gunna be to big? lookin to order and install asap great video
Just play it safe and get 194 Twist lock bases and 194 Bulbs.
i did what im sayin is with the base and bulb together it protrudes 20mm it wont let me post a pic i have
Can you post a link to amazon for the led bulbs? Please
How’d you do the lock buttons blue ??
What are them adapters called and where did you get them? I'm doing my cluster in a 96 s10 I took the bulbs out of the green twist and put the LED's inside of those and put it on and now nothing works well some things work the check engine light all those little tiny lights but not the LEDs
jerry lavenia It is possible you happen to put them all in backwards. unlikely but possible. did you rotate the twist locks 180 degrees and try them again? or pull the LEDs out and rotate them and try them again. they are polarity sensitive.
Did all that do you have a Facebook if so add me Jerry lavenia so I can show u
Any suggestions on swapping out T4 bulbs? My fuel gauge and temp gauge have T4 sockets and i can't seem to be able to find replacements. Thanks!
+Debapriyo Sarker do you know the actual bulb number? what vehicle?
***** where did you get the bulbs im putting mine in a 99 dodge ram
I may have to do this. Neat find on the hours thing! Anyone know if that's actually what it is?
Is it the same for a 2000 pickup?
I have the same truck (99 silverado)
and I have I think 6 of the big twist locks and 4 small ones when I look at the pics on ebay it only shows the big ones does it come with the small ones also or what
You don't need the small ones. Those are for your indicators such as (high beam, turn signals, ABS, SES, cruise, tow haul) things of that nature. some are apparently soldered to the board some people can't just remove the safety ones I would assume. The 6 t10 sized ones are for cluster lighting. Thats all you will need
Do you have a video showing how to change all lights in the silverado to LEDs?
+Luis Peña Never got to making one and I no longer have the truck!
Mann it looks hella nice with the led conversion... I have an 2004 silveraldo will this method work? And if so where can I buy the led light bulbs and twist caps??
raigster tone No this will not work, 03-07c bulbs are soldered to the board. Stay tuned. I purchased a new truck (06) and I may just swap mine over.
Alright I'll be waiting
+raigster tone The wait is over! I just finished the video for 03 - 07c Silverado and Sierra. check it out!
good video how much you pay for the leds
do you now what kind og socket there is on the 2005 silverado?
yeah that would be great !
I have a 98 Chevy Cheyenne 6Cyl 4.3L, you have any idea where I can get bulbs for mine? I cannot find anything online.
The Turok Makto I would browse the forums
I want to swap to led on my 97 Chevy lumina but don't have the bulb size can you help
hay man where did you get your lights and what are they called
When replacing the lights , how many bulbs do i need ?
You probably dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my gf for the last months =)
@Santino Kameron Yea, been watching on instaflixxer for months myself :D
@Santino Kameron yea, have been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :D
where can i get the blue led lights and the twist locks?
How did you swap the prnd setup to blue? I've tried researching and am coming up with nothing
Camera is doing all that. It's still the stock blue/greenish color. I would REALLY like to but haven't looked into it much. should try to pick up a spare cluster to mess with!
Were can i buy the twist locks? Thanks
I notice your window switch are blue to. how did How did you chang those light?
How do you go about changing the ones in the center and on door panels?
if you're reffering to the switches they are all soldered to the boards. its a challenge.
