As I've seen another commenter say, I love that you made Swiftpaw almost the same size as Longtail. Everyone seems to forget that he was old enough to be a warrior, so I really love when people make him a size that is fitting for his actual age.
i love the depiction of swiftpaw attacking the dogs here. instead of being super brave and strong, hes filled with fear and regret the moment he realizes what he got himself and brightpaw into. poor guy ):

Oh, goodness, this was stunning and so beautifully done. The colors all complimented each other very well, and the expressions made each frame really pop! The way this entire thing was animated was pleasing to the eyes and ears, wonderful job!
We can't know how Swiftpaw was feeling when he died, but I love the choice you made to make him feel *small*. He was very vocal about how he was a grown cat and deserved to be a warrior, but it all comes crashing down when he realizes in his final moments that he wasn't as invincible as he thought. It's such a hard and cruel lesson for him to learn...a lesson useless to a dead cat. You almost wish he went out feeling brave instead... Also, the color palettes and designs in this ROCK. I love purple Swiftpaw. Blue-tinted Brightpaw. Curly Cloudpaw. And hands-down the cutest version of Thornpaw ever seen.
The transitions in this from scene to scene was so interesting… I really liked the inclusion of Brindleface’s death because alot of Swiftpaw content shows him as prideful and angry, but how he’s shown here… He really saw how the dogs were affecting his clan and his friends and he wanted to prove himself by doing something right… He looks so scared and helpless when he’s grabbed by the dog. This video does such a good job with expressions, horror, and story telling. also LOOOVEE the bright colors and designs! Perhaps I’ll make fanart someday
im in love with the design at the end, brightheart is always shown just with a little scar and no eye, or a weird leaf over her eye. a dog would definitely do a lot of damage to her face, like shown in the drawings. also I love the color palette it’s so neat

I also love how you decided to add more of the scenes that lead up to swift paw and bright paw getting attacked rather than just the attack itself, it really adds more depth to the video makes the viewer feel a sense of dread knowing what’s coming for the two but not seeing it front and center and the end where it cuts to them being found but not being shown Is really the cherry on top of this awesome piece of work you created!! amazing job!! :D

people seem to forget that swiftpaw went out with his mouth still gaped in a snarl. but this is also a nice way of looking at it. it makes you remember that all he wanted was to be a warrior. i saw someone say it lets you understand that he's just a kid when he breaks down after looking into the dog's eyes. but he's not a kid. he was old enough to become a warrior. he had only done the thing to try to prove that he was capable enough. he was blinded by rage and frustration at bluestar are think about how much if a dumb idea it was. brightpaw had probably went along with it because she saw swiftpaw as their group of apprentices' little leader. swiftpaw didnt deserve any of what happened to him. i know people love brightheart now, but i wouldve been totally fine if if swiftpaw lived instead of brightheart...
I like to give a bit more creative freedom with my stuff, personally. Like next time I draw them, I was gonna make swiftpaw be pulled apart. I’m aware he didn’t die this way both in this pmv or in canon, but I feel it would best describe the brutality brightpaw witnessed before her attack. I also like to assume Brightpaw only followed him out of obligation. Whether she knew they were kin, or that Swiftpaw felt like he was the odd one out. Everyone seemed pretty contempt with staying apprentices, but he was the only one who was incredibly outraged (of the apprentices). So brightpaw, in order to make him feel a bit better, followed along with him. She probably felt bad that everyone rejected his idea of tracking down the animals tormenting the forest. Again, just my personal speculation.
i love love love this so much! their designs are so good. i love the different transitions, the zooms, the expressions. everything ties so well together. i also love you including scenes we don't often see (like brindleface being dragged back to camp) and how accurate their sizes are. I think a lot of us forget that swiftpaw was infact well into warrior age and would've been around the same size as a warrior, not as small as other apprentices.
the neon characters contrasting against the dark background really makes me feel uneasy, along with the music. Like you already know what's coming for Swiftpaw and Brightheart even if you haven't read the books.

oh my god you're underrated as fuck. i love your coloring in this video SO MUCH. these might be some of my favorite designs of these characters. the character acting is great. swiftpaw's expressions through the whole video go INSANE. also the backgrounds really add to it, like i'm not sure how you managed to make relatively realistic colors pop off with the neon designs but you definitely did. i think the fact it's always nighttime palette with the sun in the sky makes it super surreal in the way this song/designs need. went tf off with this video! def added an embarrassing amount of views to the view counter lmao.
still love this, something i really like is how it puts the viewer in swiftpaw's shoes. the dogs are never explicitly shown, just the aftermath and no real explanation as to why animals are being found dead. when the dogs finally do show up its not portrayed as swift and bright going to square up against them, it looks like they're just trying to decipher what's hunting in their territory, and by the time they and the viewer realize its far too late. (knowing his story of course spoils this, but to a person going in blind i feel they'd definitely find it just as unexpected as the apprentices did, (well maybe a little less, theyre not actively being torn apart ig.) ur visual storytelling is always peak omg
The designs are awesome I like that you chose to make all the colors super vibrant it gives off a vibe. I like how when stuff zooms in its very low res, but if that wasn't intentional, a way to avoid it is to draw the larger version of the image on screen and to go backwards and shrink it haha. Or use vectors but i hate using vectors. I use aliased art and changed the settings of my transform tool to take the nearest closer colors instead of trying to anti alias my artwork, so now when i do it makes the pixels really big and sharp, tho i still have the quality drop it does have a vibe. Idk if procreate lets you customize your tools as much as clip studio does tho, but you might find some interesting features if you look around what your art program can do!

The expressions, the hights, the colours, the storyboard, the syle, the perfect depiction of swiftpaws anger and surprise that cloudtail was made a warrior before him, and i love the tiny detail of the clouds covering the moon before swiftpaw goes out, since clouds covering the moon is a bad omen from starclan in the books! Great choice of music too

The song fits so perfectly! In the beginning, it says 1,3,2,4, with swiftpaw being 4. But towards the and on the song, it only says 1,3,2, but no 4, symbolizing something happens to swiftpaw/he dies. GENIOUS!

This is beautiful, really sells the scenes of Swiftpaw&Longtail’s frustration. Seeing some of these scenes I’ve not seen animated before makes me so happy! This was so well done, I love the character designs and god that ending broke me a lil 😢
The song fits so perfectly! In the beginning, it says 1,3,2,4, with swiftpaw being 4. But towards the and on the song, it only says 1,3,2, but no 4, symbolizing something happens to swiftpaw/he dies. GENIOUS!

OMLLL i LOVE your art style, the way you draw expressions, the colours used, and how you drew swiftpaw as the same size as longtail since he was already the age of a warrior. a lot of people think that because he has the ‘paw suffix, that he is like a kid but nope, he’s more like a young adult or an older teenager. this is super good, love how you drew brightheart/paw and him at the end too, you drew their injuries so well
