I was in a Westinghouse service elevator once that served 28 floors and started leveling one floor before it reached the desired floor. Talk about leveling that takes forever!

I think that the relay for controlling the door is a bit stiff, it takes too long for it to hit the contact.
Imagine the people who are calling the elevator from the outside and waiting so long while its doing this leveling? They might even think the elevator is broken.
Caution the Elevator at the Seattle Sound transit Tunnel and the Monorail Station does the same thing like this elevator.
No, it is not low on oil. If it was low on oil, it would be bouncing while leveling on the top floor

It's the replacement of their Oildraulic line. There are two hydraulic fluid options for it: Their standard petroleum-based biodegradable hydraulic fluid, and Their Enviromax biodegradable hydraulic fluid which is made out of canola seeds

Before it was modded, the Westy at 3 Park Street (Leominster, MA) would take about 2 minutes to travel up or down one floor. Apperently, it was at leveling speed full-time.

That is sort of strange the way it didn't take a long time to level when you called it.....the doors opened right away.... but when you guys were in it, it took forever to level..... I'd be a bit freaked out if I was in that elevator.... I'd take the stairs..

You are not the only one to have a bad experience with a square button US. I refused to use the 1974 square button US hydraulic elevator that was in May Co. in Westminster, CA from 1974 to 1998. It looked like something from a horror movie. It had dark wood doors with odd looking panels and a dark wood interior. The motor sounded like a semi truck.

EV Hambly I have been on one that is also a square button. It is a total death trap. I remembered when I was 6 when I rode it the first time, I really wanted to take the stairs. It has been low on oil since then. It has been low on oil for several years. And it is really creaky too. I think it really needs to be fixed.

Well, it had to be modernized because it was a DEATH TRAP.
Public- There is not an exit to 4th floor via Elevator or back steps. Get off elevator ----I at 3rd floor and walk up front steps. DO NOT use the steps next to the elevator. Thanks!

if it happens again i think this needs a mod by Schindler to be MRL traction since I've been on an MRL traction 3x before on a trip and I haven't got stuck once!
