  • If your car stalls or idles roughly, several common causes may be contributing to the issue. Consider the following possibilities:
    Dirty or clogged air filter.:
The air filter prevents dirt and debris from entering the engine. If it becomes dirty or clogged, it can restrict airflow to the engine, resulting in rough idling and stalling.
    Clogged fuel filter:
The fuel filter screens out contaminants from the fuel before it reaches the engine. If it becomes clogged, it can restrict fuel flow to the engine, leading to rough idling and stalling.
    Malfunctioning idle control valve:
The idle control valve regulates the amount of air that enters the engine while idling. If it becomes dirty or malfunctions, it can cause the engine to run roughly or stall.
    Faulty ignition system:
A faulty ignition system, including bad spark plugs, ignition coils, or a distributor, can cause the engine to misfire, run roughly, or stall.
    Engine sensors:
Modern cars are equipped with various sensors that monitor engine performance, such as the oxygen sensor, mass airflow sensor, and throttle position sensor. If one of these sensors fails or malfunctions, it can lead to rough idling and stalling.
    Vacuum leaks:
A vacuum leak occurs when air enters the engine through a hole or crack in the vacuum system. This can cause the engine to run either lean or rich, resulting in poor engine performance, rough idling, or stalling.
    Dirty throttle body:
The throttle body controls the amount of air that enters the engine. If it becomes dirty or clogged, it can cause the engine to run roughly or stall.

Can fuel pump be a factor? My car engiens dies at very low speed..either when i am stopping and rpm is very low or when i am about to accelerate after shopping most time when im on a little slope or having like 3 or 4 people in the car

Yes, a faulty fuel pump or clogged fuel filter or injectors can cause stalling. It could be a combination of factors.

Hi sir i have swift disel 1.2 manual rpm always fluctuate at idle and rough what to do?

I would consider a possible vacuum leak, but any of the causes mentioned in the video are potential factors. I suggest you visit the dealership or a mechanic in your area for a more thorough diagnosis of your Swift.

Is coolant leaking a cause too?

    • @Viosified
      @Viosified  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

It's not the most common cause but if the leak is severe enough it can be a factor. I mean, if the leakage is such that it affects coolant sensors or other engine management components, then yes. Malfunctioning coolant sensors can provide inaccurate readings to the engine control unit, leading to improper fuel delivery & ignition timing, which can cause rough idling & other performance issues.

There's got to be something you overlooked. A visit to the mechanic for a thorough diagnosis is recommended. A 2nd or 3rd opinion won't hurt.

I would pay a diagnostic fee and fix the issue if I can other wise just pay the mechanic. You definitely overlooked something, rough idling is a pain to pin point.
