    Nice video!! I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 with Rough Country 2 inch level kit with the springs. I bought the 2022 Western V Enforcer and Pro 525 Salter. I also have Blizzak Tires, and I also put all new parts on the front.. I should have no issues on my small and medium jobs here in Michigan!!

    We have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 with a old western unimount, we are on our second season ❄️ The 2nd Gen Ram half tons are built like 3/4 tons. Just be safe, go slow and don't push more than the truck can handle. Good Luck bud!!!!

    You absolutely can plow with a 1500... as long as you plow smart... Don't get rushed & switch gears until you're stopped, and watch coolant temperatures on highway due to restricted airflow. Abuse & not paying attention is what breaks stuff. I've used half tons of several brands since the 90's & never had any plowing related issues. currently using a 2015 Ram Laramie crew cab with a Western midweight... Handles it beautifully. I did hafta upsize tires a few sizes to give proper frame to ground measurement so the undercarriage had the correct angle.. My ram doesn't even need Timbrens... Even with the heavier Midweight (vs a lightweight half ton plow which aren't' heavy enough to scrape as well) my front only drops about 3/4 inch lifting that Midweight blade.

      Hopefully people will start utilizing their 1500 a little more! The plows today are way more advanced!
      Thank you! I’m sure the truck will do well! Just have to keep up on the maintenance.

    Hi from the UP! I have the same set up on my 2014. I just got it installed last week and have ran into problems. This is my first plow. My external temp display shows outside temp at 130 degrees. Engine gets close to overheating. I have tried lowering the plow as low as possible when driving. Tilting it to ether side for more air flow. Nothing works. Even tried driving in tow mode. I drive 65mph 10 miles to town.
    Also after my install my window defrosters stoped working. When my defrosters are on I only get air coming out of the dash. Just no defrost. Did you have these problems???

    • @onlyactions8110
      @onlyactions8110  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Carmen, how is the snow up there?! We just got 12 inches!!
      As far as the external temp gauge, I’ve read that they could have been moved when the plow was installed, or it’s being blocked by the plow. I’d recommend keeping an eye on the temps through the gauge cluster.
      I have also noticed my external temp reading high temps as well. But the truck doesn’t seem to be over heating because all of my driveways are close by. I also take the plow off when it’s not needed. I plan on contacting the shop that installed the plow for some advise.
      As far as my defrosters, they seem to be working just fine for me. Again, I’d recommend contacting the shop that installed the plow.
      I hope this helped!

      Hey, I have a 2014 Silverado with the Western Enforcer, that was installed over the summer. Have not plowed yet, but when driving down 75 I had no over heating issues. Its was around 85 degrees at that time. I had the PlowFlowmaster added and that really helped even at slow speeds. The temp went up just a little over the normal reading.

    How much was your set up

    • @onlyactions8110
      @onlyactions8110  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question.
      The Ballard Inc. Light was $149.99.
      The 2.5 leveling kit from Rough Country was $339.95.
      The installation of the leveling kit was $200.00.
      And the Western Midweight with installation was $6,400. That is with the upgraded LED light.

    For salt spreaders don’t buy the salt dog, we had one and it was awful. Snowex (made by Western) are probably the best tailgate spreaders. I have a Boss tailgate spreader right now, it’s way easier to get on and off the truck (with RT3) but other than mounting I think snowex is better.

    Just a heads up because you are using your truck for commercial purposes you need to have your company name, city, and state permanently affixed to both sides of the truck in block lettering no less than 3 inches tall. It's a nasty fine if caught and they can shut you down.

    • @onlyactions8110
      @onlyactions8110  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Mike. In Michigan, you do not need to have your commercial truck labeled with your company name, city, or state. All you need is an amber oscillating light affix to the top of the vehicle while plowing a commercial lot or a driveway.
      However, if the commercial vehicle weights over 10,000 pounds, you’re legally supposed to get a DOT physical.
      I hope this helps. And if you’re from Michigan, you now know the information needed to operate.
