my 04' jetta 2.0 flowmaster exhaust, loud!

this is my jetta i got a couple months back. i love this car but it is too slow so i was thinking of upgrading it. i was thinking of installing a Ko4 APR TUNING turbo but its a 2.0 so i dont know if you can do that. if you can please message me back. i want it to go to the 250-300hp barrier. im not looking into spending more than $3000.
it currently has a flowmasters exhaust and 17" tsw wheels
Oh and if i do buy a turbo what else would i need so that the engine runs smoothly (intercooler, cold air intake, etc...)?

I do enjoy me a good VR6, I've had a few, but 2.0's are my specialty. Mainly ABA's. They're very stout, torquey engines. The 20v head swap you mentioned is also very difficult. There are only a few in the USA. One of them has ITB's and makes power past 8500 RPM! It's a great engine configuration.

If you got a turbo, a ecu reprogram, intake system of some kind, and throw in a few other things like a sportier clutch kit and lightened flywheel and a camshaft replacement. You will tear it up with all this stuff.

I'm not sure where you got your information from, but 90% of it is wrong. A 260* Autotech cam is barely an upgrade over the stock 8v cam. It's not going to add 30BHP.. Maybe 10BHP at MOST. You don't lose low end TQ on these motors unless you go with a cam bigger than a 276*, and even then you can set a cam gear to +5* to get low end TQ back with no top end loss. A SRI takes a little low end TQ away, but the big HP gains are well worth it. I've built these motors, I know a lot about them.

I've built SEVERAL ABA 8v's. A 260* cam..crucial? Crucial to what? The 260* cam isn't that good for boost. A 268/260 would be a MUCH better choice if you want to stick with stock valve springs. A 16v ABA swap is a very involved swap. It isn't worth the trouble. Sourcing a 1.8 scirocco head to make it work is difficult enough. Not to mention all the custom wiring/tuning. A 2.0 9a swap would be a more viable option, from a 16v passat or MK2 GLI/GTI. But that's only 20 more hp than an ABA 8v.

I used to have a Dodge pickup that was a little raspier than what your exhaust sounds like. Sure do miss that truck too. But mine snap crackled and popped a lot louder than yours, especially in between shifts and letting off the throttle. Good fun.
